And before long, these people noticed them.
Dozens of pairs of eyes turned on the pinkette while she continued to walk in their direction without fear. She did not want to be superficial, but these people needed medical attention severely. Despite how people think she acted because of how refined she talked; she did not judge people based on their appearances. But she fostered concern for these mutants, because most of them suffered from horrible blemishes, mutations, deformities, and just outright poor health. They needed a dedicated healer, but she was not at liberty to dispense her own. Maybe she could trade them excess books they could use for teaching each other how to make some curative.
Granted, not anytime soon. She felt the distrust in their eyes. As she proceeded further into the sewers, she eventually was stopped by a lithe, balding man with green, patchwork skin sporting sickly dark blotches. Though he was missing an eye and three fingers on his left hand, he looked to be one of the healthier denizens. It was the contact she talked to through mail—which they exchanged through an abandoned mailbox in an undisclosed location—and he knew because he told her about his unique appearance. A.J. ”Justice, this is offensive. I’m afraid to ask, but is this truly worth the effort?” Anniken asked while she tried to prevent herself from stepping in a dense layer of unidentified muck. ”Well, the benefits are undeniable. I won’t even begin to disagree with you, this is the worst environment I have ever stepped foot in. It is as though this world harbours no pleasant location—fate truly is cruel.”
They did not hide their displeasure with the task. More refined than they used to be because of their new Demont blood, this was the last place in the continent they wanted to be in. Through their Eye, they witnessed nothing ill coming of Odin’s Spear or Shale Town should they take the opportunity, therefore they decided to step out. When there was no unwanted guests, they could be a little more liberal with their time investments.
After an episode of back and forth banter where the duo—hosting the same body because of their soul situation—tried to justified their being there instead of the comfortable headquarters they called Asgard, they eventually saw in the dingy darkness an open area. There were sparse groups of people—if you could call them that—making their way around, talking, and performing basic tasks one would see around any other community. A.J. Godfrey | Post 2

MISSION NAME: Sewer People CLIENT: Underbelly Inhabitants CHARACTERS: A.J. Godfrey MISSION BRIEFING: The sewer folk are willing to make a deal with Odin’s Spear and Shale Town should they help them deal with a problem. They don’t have a lot of food or supplies down there, and they lost a lot of their runners to the zombie menace. Something is pilfering their food supply, and it needs to be taken care of. Take care of it, and Odin’s Spear members will be able to use their many underground routes to their leisure. -- Over the last few weeks, Anniken had performed a lot of missions she hated the idea of. One of those tasks included wading through mud water, flies, bodies, and other wonderful décor in the Wetlands. Now, she needed to wade through excrement and navigate through tunnels inhabited by mutant creatures and mutant people to form a deal with a settlement that struggled to call itself one. After slaughtering various things in Scoria, she entered through its sewers and eventually made her way through the underground system.
Upon getting there, the first thing that greeted her was not any inkling of civilization. Rather, the Godfather was assaulted by a grotesque stench thick enough to be cut with a knife. A mix of rotting bodies, unmentionable leavings, rust, and every other sour, unpleasant malodour a person could think of. If the shortcuts weren’t valuable enough, she never would have brought herself to do this.
But she needed to, because it cut travel times and it cut costs. Therefore, Anniken climbed down the length of the ladder, made her way through shallow water and kicked rats out of the way as she proceeded in the direction of her established contact for the mission. A person who lived in here and was familiar with the locals—their so-called representative. Apprehensive as she was about this, it needed to be done. A.J. Godfrey | Post 1

It was odd. See, Anniken remembered being in freezing climates before. Having been to the coldest place on the planet in the Wastelands, she knew the sensation of feeling as though her extremities were going to fall off. Last time she visited that place, she remembered wearing layers of clothes, scarves, thicker gloves, and a cloak to ward away the chill. Her outfit was similar today, but not because she needed it. Now, she did not feel dramatic, freezing temperatures because of her cold physiology. It did not work like a cold-blooded reptile, after all.
While staring at the inn in question, she kept her mitten-clad hands clasped behind her back. The hot clothing failed to bother her. Since she was already cold to the touch, she just felt warm under the snug embrace of dense clothing.
Wolfish ears twitching upon being catered to, her tail swayed from side-to-side. After Cheshire was done talking, she decided to further her agenda by providing a little tinge of Pleasure. Not enough to be stimulating in that way, just a simple soothing sensation. Like soaking in a pleasant, warm bath.

Justice had a feeling that, with how zoned out she was for a few moments, she might have been caught in the middle of her daydream. Maybe she was just being self-conscious about it, but thankfully she had a lover who refrained from commenting. In fact, their powers seemed similar in regards for hearing from insidious visions or voices in the least opportune of moments.
Smirking, she thought a little more into Cheshire’s words in retrospect. If she met her years into the past, the feline might have been able to catch her when exposure to the prophecies had yet to jade her to horrendous sights. Waking up crying in the middle of the night—she wondered if that happened to her, too.
…Wine, chocolate, and ice cream sounded good right about now.
”Yeah, that sounds good to me. I think I can think of creative ways to eat some of those things you mentioned,” she said, her smirk enduring throughout her subtle suggestion. It had been a couple weeks, might as well get experimentative. If allowed, she would push herself up and help the feline up.
”Never was one for exercise, anyway,” she added, taking a look around. Cheshire Copeland | Post 18

MISSION NAME: Return to Sender CLIENT: Odin’s Spear CHARACTERS: A.J. Godfrey Ivory Volkov MISSION BRIEFING: After tracking the trail the drive-by zombie thugs left, Ivory and Anniken find themselves braving the Siltstone Wetlands. Nestled in the mucky depths of the thick, close grouped trees and swamp is a camp. They need to locate it, and take care of the criminals inside. Another objective is finding out the reason behind the assault. Oh boy. If Justice had to sum up her feelings on this location, the only word she had to describe it was disgusting. She had no idea how people tolerated living there; they probably lacked choice in the matter.
You couldn’t bring a vehicle this far into the swamplands, therefore she found herself having to wade through varying levels of muddy water to navigate. Thankfully the local faunae avoided them, maybe because they were vampires and that spooked them on the subconscious level.
But the molasses thick clouds of flies, the stinking animal droppings mixed with mud and other diseased segments of scenery did not make pushing through the dense forestry fun. Those things did not pose a threat to a vampire, but they were still annoying. And with how coarse and abundant the obstacles—stones, trees and their roots, corpses, water—scraping yourself on them was impossible to avoid. Sure, she regenerated, but it still stung. Especially when foul water infiltrated her wounds and scrapes.
”This is fucking terrible,” she finally said, a rare curse from the pinkette’s newfound refined form. Ivory Volkov | Post 1

There was a lot of things to think about, and she was telling the truth. The palette of visions she spectated tended to be changeable, and it allowed her to privy to the happenings should she tell people about the predictions. Should it be relevant to them, maybe it would change the possibility. Time was a relative, unorthodox concept. Some people even claimed that time all happened at once, and the measurement of it was just a lack of human comprehension. And maybe her Eye lent credit to that. How everything seemed to be connected regardless of how distant it was ahead or behind. What was behind might be staring at the now just as she was.
Trippy. Perhaps the Eye was already making her borderline high.
Justice felt strange. It was almost creepy in a way. She imagined that if there was a way to explain omnipotence, then this must have been how Odin felt. If she wanted to, she could open that bloodline technique up and be in umpteen settings at once. If all of those selves were capable of that, then when was now?
”…Uh,” Justice said, snapping out of the daydream she snared herself in. Cheshire asked her about her plans tonight, and she felt inclined to answer before she took another trip into Odin knows what. ”No, I’m free. What about you, Chesh? Do you wanna get out of this gym?” Cheshire Copeland | Post 17

With that way the feline responded to her words, she developed a strong feeling in opposition to her previous theory.
It was just a really big tree, wasn’t it? It was probably just a big tree.
However, she reckoned she would feel bad if they stopped now, even if it turned out to be just an insentient hunk of rough wood of mutant proportions. It still had a small chance of being the tree in question, even though she was certain Yggdrasil was not a spruce tree, and it probably would have been a lot more distinct than any regular tree. But who knows?
”Well, you never know, I suppose. Except when you do always know, but needless to say I’ve refrained from looking into this possibility for fear of discovering myself jumping to irrational conclusions,” she admitted, following along behind Lucius.
Besides, she would get a personal look at the guild Cheshire came from. It was probably one of her first times visiting this place, and that was an intriguing notion. Notorious B.I.G. | Post 7

As much as she wanted to rally behind the idea of making the most out of the time they had, it was hard for the Godfather to have that level of acceptance and wisdom at the ripe age of twenty-five. To sear Cheshire into her memory enough to last two-thousand years and beyond, she imagined it would be nice to remember her fondly as her love. She imagined it would also be a constant reminder and source of pain; thousands of years of it.
Through their close contact, it was easy to see the solemn look in her eyes. However, she seemed to be not as impacted as she would have been had she not possessed a precognitive ability to see future ahead.
”I think it would ruin the surprise for one, and two, I feel like if I tell you here and now, it will change the event in the future destined to happen. If that event doesn’t happen, then I don’t think you’ll be able to break through the barricade when it comes to your power. And yeah, means I can’t give any hints, either.” Cheshire Copeland | Post 16

”Wheee~”
While the snake bull chimera and her sister fought to the death, the Godfather tossed her cigarette to the ground and stomped it out. She smoked it down to the root; she had no need for the filter. That would be gross. Then a flash of light ensued, wreathing around her form. Rather than her current form, she shifted into her vampire form. It almost looked as though she were temporarily a figure of light, and then she moulded into the smaller, pink-haired form she was known to assume most of the time now. Because why not?
”I am absolutely adorable, Justice. Look, my hair is so floofy and I even retained the doggie ears and tail,” Anniken said.
”Let’s face it, sister. You’re bored. You know that you could make the creature explode if you so desired, but here you are, wasting your life away, smoking things everyone tells you not to. Though, to be fair, it’s not like it poses any risk anymore?” Justice returned.
”Yes. You’re exactly right. Would it truly be disastrous if we perhaps… sped this up a little…?”
”No. It’s rather funny to watch. Do not ruin my fun.” Violet Godfrey Tsukai | Post 5

”Isn’t that what they mean by the curse of immortality? Not being able to die and pass on, even centuries after your loved one passes. To be honest, I prepared myself for that long before I thought of this. The race I am, not the wolf one, but the divine blood, that makes me incapable of dying outside of unnatural causes. Such as the heart exploding,” Justice started, her hands continuing her lucrative motion of ear rubbing as she spoke. There did seem to be a melancholy in her eyes while she elaborated.
”Even if that won’t happen anymore, man, I fucking fear the idea of that. I don’t mind if you’re old looking, that wouldn’t diminish my feelings. But going without you for eternity, that’s pretty shitty…” she added, closing her eyes for a moment.
”But yeah, I think we’ll address you hitting a ceiling. I don’t think it’s a natural development, therefore something will happen that will help you overcome it. Granted, it’s going to involve a certain process that’ll be, uh, not uncomfortable but I guess interesting?”
That was one way to put it. At this point, she felt like she was giving teasers. Cheshire Copeland | Post 15

Vanishing Point
Sept 22, 2019 10:00:46 GMT
So, it seemed her suspicions were correct. Kasumi wanted the criminal—if any existed in the first place—for feeding a different vampire in the guild. Part of her hoped the dragon slayer would eventually decide to progress her abilities and be able to participate in bigger missions, allowing her to reap the benefits of drinking blood by herself. If she did not treat it with a greater sense of urgency since awakening to her powers, she would rely too much on her partner. Granted, they did have a lot of willing donors…
Well, that aside, the task at hand. Kasumi started to flip through pages, stating that the first step they needed to take care of was door duty. This procedure tended to revolve around going door-to-door and inquiring to people about the situation at hand. Back before the Calamity, this was the favoured approach of the Rune Knights.
”Certainly. For this task, I shall mostly be following your lead. If you need my abilities or wisdom, simply ask and receive. Otherwise, it seems you have the situation under control.” Kasumi Ito | Post 5

From what she witnessed, the living spoiler named AJ Godfrey knew she would have the constitution and will to return to the form she possessed now—even if it would still be cold and bear fangs. It made the revelation of having her chest shrink to match her new form a lot easier to bear, because she could alternate between the forms if she needed to. Might explain why she didn’t deliver another shot of Vitamin Cake to Cheshire at her quip. Instead, she returned the smirk.
”I don’t look that far ahead, Chesh. As much as I want to know everything, I think there comes a certain point where if you look too far ahead regarding what could be and what will happen, the wielder will gradually mess up their sanity. It may be in hundreds of years now, but imagine seeing one’s own death—or seeing other unfavourable things. It’s not good for the psyche,” Justice explained, her brow furrowing while she rubbed the feline’s ears.
”But there is something you should know. I think all of this—it’s not irrelevant to your strength’s current ceiling. The future, there’s a link between it.” Cheshire Copeland | Post 14

One would think the sight unraveling in front of her should arouse a feeling of distaste in her, but it was the opposite. Perhaps she kept this away from Cheshire not to be secretive, but to leave her with a pleasant surprise for once. Lips curling into a small smirk, she moved over to the other side of the vehicle and exited. Her movement brought her around the car and to Cheshire’s other side. Dropping down to her knees, she moved closer to the other side of her neck Ivory chose not to target.
”You have nothing to worry about, Cheshire. Hungry as we are, we would never cause harm to our precious kitten. Mmm, you smell delectable…” Justice cooed, and leaned closer. Though she did not make a move for her neck, she allowed her breath to patter on her skin akin to sustained pellets of rain. The smell of blood—she wanted to dine, she wanted to taste blood that would be sweeter than anything she had ever eaten as a human-like entity.
But she waited.
”Ivy, you may go first. Be gentle, but feel free to make a spectacle…” Ivory Volkov Cheshire Copeland | Post 4
