The idea of working out in an enclosed area that reeked of sweat and noise pollution did not interest her as much, but as it was five in the morning, no one in their right minds would be here right now, and it was probably the best time for her to check out the facilities, maybe even put some of them to good use.[break][break] The place was huge. A large open area, separated into different spaces for different types of exercises. The machines were perfectly aligned, and whoever came up with the blueprints of how they were going to design this room certainly maximized every bit of it, barely leaving any empty spaces.[break][break] Eyeing each of the lacrima-powered contraptions, the feline curiously ran her hands across the buttons of each machine, just to see what they were primarily used for. She'd been in a gym before, but nothing this high tech. Odin's Spear has been doing extraordinarily well, and each member contributed to the guild in their own way. It felt odd that even though she was technically hovering on the upper echelon of the hierarchy here, she never did feel like she had much to offer, especially nowadays where her mental state proved far too much for her to handle, and she'd sleep the day away, avoiding most people who tried reaching out, only appearing outside her room in the dead of the night, probably in search of ice cream.[break][break] In a strange cycle, she's more or less reverted back to the same person she was before she joined the place. Most of her hard-earned confidence erased, and the social cues she gained along the way, lost. AJ hadn't been around much in the past couple of weeks, but that made sense. Ever since she gave her approval, the loving couple's probably spent the entirety of however long it's been since their conversation, making up for the time they've lost due to her jealous self. "Guess they should be back any time now.."[break][break] The feline sat on the floor, in front of a sandbag that hung from the rafters. The only thing that gave her location away were the occasional squeaks the soles of her sneakers made when she shifted her legs. With an all-black pairing of a sports bra and tight-fitting yoga pants, it's a shame no one else was around to see her. Not that they'd dare approach her anyway. Or so she thought. Able to project her voice like a professional bard, all within would be able to hear her presence audibly declared. Feeling like she should spend time honing her own skills in isolation to measure how far she came since further investing herself in the matters of the guild, she entered the room in question.
”Everybody get your necks to crack around, all you crazy people come on jump around—I want to see you all on your knees, knees—either want to be with me or be me.”
Wetting her throat with a swig from her water bottle, she made her way over to a bench. Dropping her bag to the ground, she removed her white jacket and left herself in a black shirt and her usual attire underneath. While tying her hair up, she noticed Cheshire at last. Her eyes widened in surprise.
She must have been that caught up in song.

She just stared ahead, right at the punching bags, sitting in a position that must've been an eyesore at this point - her knees hugged to her chest. She looked like crap, and the only saving grace was her hair tied up in a ponytail, but nothing could really mask the terror that was her eyes. Heavy eyelids that hung like teabags under her eyes and a puffy redness that bled into the whites of her sclera. Still, she mustered a smile, and felt at least somewhat happy to see AJ around.[break][break] "Creepy, isn't it?" She spoke, finally. Her voice quivered, almost as though she's scared of what might come her way, or what she might accidentally say. It's been a few days since they've last seen one another, and even the meeting before that was kind of just a quick greeting before the Godfather and her Underboss had to leave for another one of their missions. "This was kinda how I am- or was, before everything here. I was always just brooding somewhere, by myself. Things changed when I came here, and I felt a rush of motivation for the first time in my life to actually.. do something for myself, make that change."[break][break] The feline stood back up and dusted herself off. She wasn't crying anymore, at the very least - her eyes were just puffy from all the irritation and dryness that came after. "I've kinda.. gone backwards. Feels like I'm turning back into what I was before. Justice took a seat on the bench, knowing that her ability to hit bags alone was out the window with the leading interaction. She seemed thoughtful while she looked at her, and shifted her attention towards one of the heavy pieces of equipment hanging from the ceiling.
It felt like she would be forever trapped if they did not sort things out; maybe she needed to help her get back on track, even if she wasn't good at that stuff. A sigh left her, and she pushed a sidelock away. If she wanted to change herself, she needed the truth.
”I should be honest. I don’t believe what I’m seeing is you right now. The person who I fell for, and still love, is the real you. Most recently, the one who walked into that birthday party full of confidence, full of purpose, and was both kind and fun. The person your little brothers saw, the person Mercy saw that day, the person I’ve often seen up until now. The gloom and doom, I don’t think it’s part of you.” Justice continued, shaking her head.
”I owe a lot of me being able to interact with you back when you were like this, as you said, to Anni, because her personality is the antithesis of mine. The extroverted, charismatic type who will haul you in and obliterate any dark clouds hanging above you. Me? I’m not like that; I’m a dry, unenthusiastic melancholic. I’m one of those people who needs to have those dark clouds diffused, too.” Justice scratched her cheek, looking down. ”And I know you have it in you, because I’ve seen it, and I love it.”

There's so much going on up in that noggin of her's that it almost seemed like she's built herself a mental barrier and would not allow merely anyone's words to affect her. Unfortunately, Justice.. well, to be honest, she expected nothing but coldness, and what she received wasn't. It did hurt though, having memories of the once-proud her dug up and brought to the forefront. There was a mirror off to her side, often used by the practitioners to gauge their forms. All she could see now was.. this was her.[break][break] Her hair looked a mess. Even with a ponytail, it looked frizzy and fuzzed up, with bits of fur from her ears and tail clinging to certain points. The state of her eyes was already mentioned, and it probably looked far worse up close. There's also the stench. It wasn't completely foul, but that's what she gets for not showering for almost three days - she was going to mind you, figured she'd get a sweat in to lose all the pounds she's gained from inhaling all those tubs of ice cream.[break][break] The feline stuck her hands into her pockets. Her ears have flopped down, resting atop her hair, and her tail? For once she's let it loose, but even then, all it did was drag across the ground when she walked, so it wasn't exactly the cleanest right about now. She admitted, turning to face the other direction so the Godfather would at least be unable to continue looking at the state she was in. "You know how weird it is, for me to see what I've seen, hear what I've heard? Ironic, that I've become.. a shadow of my former self, but I'm not surprised. It had been a long time coming over the last while, and it led to her savouring the sensation for a few moments longer than she would have on any other occasion. When she backed away, she kept her gaze focused on the feline before her.
”Nobody said to be like someone else, from the start I just wanted you to be you, Chesh. I’ve seen it—I know it’s not an act. Justice draped her arms around her, leaning into the embrace. As she held her, she combed her gloved fingers through her hair. Partially submerging her face into her onyx mane, the Godfather allowed them to savour the exchange for a few moments longer. Even when she spoke, she refrained from prematurely concluding it, because she knew the feline needed it. Perhaps it had been a long time coming over the last while, her arms in lieu of Anniken’s.
”I want to see your abilities now. It will help me get a better idea of your mental state, and if it correlates with your prowess. But—there’s a catch, or I guess an incentive involved. If you agree to this, then I’ll show you what I’ve seen in the future with my Eye,” Justice offered, continuing to play with her monochromatic locks. Usually when she used this ability it was for the purpose of offense, but she could also use it in a way that was for information sharing. Paired with her telepathy, it was easier.

Her confidence was completely flushed down the drain due to all this trauma she's endured, and the situation with her powers certainly helped plunge it deeper. However, she did not intend to go all-out as most wizards seemed to enjoy doing these days during friendly bouts. She intended to rely on things like telekinesis; a meaner part of her thought it might be hilarious, too. Of course, the humour was lost when considering whom it was being subjected to—but usually it was funny.
”Well, going all out here would defeat the purpose of assessment. Therefore, you’ll be getting your wish regarding me refraining from going for the face. Not like I could ever do that to you, anyway…” Justice muttered in response. A declination without exclusivity, she knew Anniken would never do it, either.
After a slight pause, she nodded in response. ”Good. If you go easy on me, it kind of defeats the purpose of assessment. I need to know your limitations, and I happen to be pretty damn resilient to boot. Just don’t go for the face,” Justice echoed, her lips playing into a small smirk. ”Whenever you’re ready.”
