He certainly was right in that assertion. Free drinks, like anything else that came without charge, were good no matter what. As long as they did remain free, that was. She had heard of cases where something was put into said drinks that ultimately made them a lot less free, but she doubted that it was the case here. And, if not, she could always burn the bad stuff out of her system. Probably. Certainly. It was not something she had tried before, so she filed the thought away as potentially useful later on. One day, she might be able to make a proper spell for that or find one somewhere.

In the here and now, she picked one of the leftover mugs and pulled them towards herself. She was not yet sure whether she would or should go for another one. But one was assured. “I guess, though I never did so myself. The free stuff tends to come from men, mostly, with the occasional woman,” she replied with a brief, subdued chuckle, her hand in front of her mouth as if to conceal it. Though if that had truly been her intention, it had failed miserably. Natalie briefly nipped on hers, preferring to take it slow and in small measures, making the most of it. A friend of her had called that miserly. She preferred to think of it as efficient, really.

Since this was a conversation, she had seated herself at a slight angle, one arm on the counter and her gaze lazily directed at the still un-named man. There was not really a need for introductions. Bar-quaintances were fleeting things. And most travellers went by false names anyway. “Mhmmm I like it. It is not the best there ever was, but that is what you get for a reasonable price. Practical, as things tend to be in this city.” Well, that was a diplomatic way to put it. And she was all about that diplomacy sometimes. Wouldn’t want to have the people who could spit into your drinks without you noticing resent you, after all.
This guy though, he did not really matter. A traveller, probably a mage given how steadfastly he carried himself, he would be out of her life before the sun went up again. She did not have to give her all to keep him in good graces. He was perceptive enough though, which made her smile once more. “As for myself, it is that reasonability that tends to draw me in. There may be fancier places, but I tend to feel like those lack a certain warmth and authenticity. This place can be a lot livelier, which makes it more interesting.” Or quieter, but she was not exactly drunk enough to reveal that. Nat would rather have others see her as a good soul cheering others up with her presence than someone who came here to secretly make fun of people in crisis.

I think that could work. It probably would take a few drinks to get Nat to really be herself in that regard, at least for someone she does not yet know. But hey, if he buys her one, she'd be in anyway. And I guess one, two, three or more drinks don't really make a difference for his tab at this point anymore to begin with, at least from the sounds of it.

Greetings, fellow Wolf! I read your plotter and figured that Nat and Kin Harle could probably get along in some manner. My mage is also a tad mischievous and hides it behind a smile, but more a gentle and somewhat reserved one. She could use an accomplice that thinks in similar ways (and someone more likely to take the heat in case something goes awry). I could see a somewhat older-younger sister dynamic between the two of them, but I am open to just seeing where things go.
Given that Nat is a healer, she would naturally want to connect with guild mates for missions or the like. I think I saw an open one involving a ghost and ghastly things, which might be in the right ball-park for them to meet up or so?

About
A gentle healer, that is the first impression many have of Nat. It is a useful image for others to have of her, so she plays along, a light smile on her face. However, much like her healing is anything but gentle, the young woman herself can be full of surprises. Having broken away from her family, she seeks the freedom that being a proper mage offers. Her intention is to do what she wants and to preferably get paid well for it. A simple goal for a simple life, maybe, but she plans to spice it up wherever she can. And sow a bit of mischief, whenever she can get away with it.

Friends
Natalie likes having a lot of friends. While she can be headstrong, especially when it comes to getting paid, she is generally friendly, polite and avoids personally starting confrontations with others. In direct ways at least. She does sometimes enjoy pushing things subtly into certain directions if she can do so without repercussions, be it through choice of words or by spreading rumours. Despite sometimes playing pranks on her friends, she is quite loyal, though prone to assuming an ‘us versus them’ attitude rather quickly. It is relatively easy to nominally befriend her. True friendship does require a lot more time, effort and trust. There are few people that truly understand Nat while still liking her. Those are who she deems true companions.

Enemies
There are many people Natalie looks down upon or disdains in quiet, but she does not consider them genuine enemies. For that, someone has to thoroughly hurt her, in body or feelings, or present a grave threat to do so. Her morals are being very self-centered in that regard. There are a few things that upset her to a degree where she would consider someone a foe without being impacted directly. Those include vile acts that actively upset her stomach or animal cruelty. She also considers any declaration of animosity towards whatever group she is currently in one against herself as well, yet does not really hate people because of that. These kinds of things are more dispassionate, nothing personal kind of affairs.

Lovers
Speaking of affairs, those are the only relationships she has been able to hold so far. Due to her nature, Natalie has a hard time committing to a proper one and prefers to keep others at a slight distance, have fun being with someone and reap the benefits. But she does not like making sacrifices even for someone she has a fancy for and her personality often ends up becoming a wedge in the gears of love. The most sure-fire way to get a foot into the door to her heart is to give her a lot of adoration, attention and also gifts, being a material girl. More long-term prospects would probably need a whole lot of patience as well as a certain degree of pushiness to not allow her to withdraw. And a resistance to burns of any kind.
