Kasumi gave her a small nod at that, her shoulder slightly more relaxed upon her answer. She hoped that it would not come to that, given her partner's reluctance but the permission to do what she must give her the resolve should the time comes.
"Understood. I'll only use lethal force when necessary." came her reply as their SUV entered the abandoned settlement. A maze of old buildings surround them with doors hanging off it's hinges, paints peeling and just general signs of decay all around them. Not a single soul can be seen within the village be it living or deceased.
Kasumi would bring the car up to the pharmacy warehouse in question in just as bad shape as the rest of the buildings in the area. The only difference was that the steel doors had withstood time, barring them from conventional form of entry. The woman didn't get out of the vehicle immediately however, her eyes scanning the areas around them to make sure.
"Doesn't look like the raiders are here. No signs of vehicles either so I don't think they're inside." she stated, slowing down to a halt before glancing at her rear view mirror then back at her partner.

The kick had hit Orion solidly in the posterior, granting her a slight measure of satisfaction. Well actually, she would be more satisfied with her pockets filled with jewels she paid for the book. Her face turned pointedly to the side upon the inquiry, the mage knew well enough what her answer would be.
Orion soon redirected to the mission to which she would slowly turned back towards back towards him. Honestly, she wished she could just hop back on the train to get her mind occupied with something else but it was the lack of jewel that had her set on this mission. Sighing, she placed her hand on her hip.
"I'm taking a cut of the library book cost from your share of the mission. Now, do you know anything about the kidnappers? Any identifying feature for the pig we're looking for?"
This was probably one of the most unique job she had to handle thus far but that doesn't prevent her from going by the books to approach it.

Kasumi Ito. Proud albeit new member of the Odin's Spear said to be composed of made mage who are ready to get their hands dirty no matter the task. When she read the contract, she had assume that doing dirty things means morally grey things. Like stealing, saboteur or even killing the leader of the rival gang group.
Stealing a pig was definitely not one of those things. She glared at the poster as if it had offended her, steal her jewels and possibly kill her family while at it. Tearing the paper off the wall, she walked towards the receptionist to process it before she took off. Now it's just a matter of meeting of the other mage and work together to capture the swine.
Or so she thought. Kasumi bit her lip slightly after hearing the farmer explained to her. Another mage had arrive at the scene before her went off to do the task on their own. Granted, the task was quite easy so she could see why they went off without her but still. Taking a deep breathe, she followed the foot track towards where her fellow mage partner would be.
Her vein popped. Her partner was the very man who took off without the paying the library book he promised to. He was squatting around, apparently looking for something seemingly unaware of her presence and concentrate on whatever was in the bushes. Was it the hog? At this point she didn't quite care. Her foot swung backward before forward aimed straight towards Orion's rear.

Upon being posed the question, Kasumi remained silent for a bit as she attempt to recall the content of the report. While the report mentioned low probability of combat, they should make sure to take into account the worst case scenario.
"According to the report in question, they mentioned 3 vehicles worth so I would say around 12 at most? They seem to be of the survey type since they were more interested in looking around than attacking something."
The raiders in question do concern her slightly though not in terms of strength. They may already take hold of the drugs needed on the list or even steal their vehicle which would make combat necessary. The wise saying one shouldn't judge a book by it's cover but given her partner's profession she would have to check just in case.
"Do you take hippocratic oath Miss Everett? It's fine if you do, I just needed to know to form a plan in the event of combat as well as determine the rules of engagement."
Personally she had no qualms in using lethal force when it comes to handling the raiders but if her partner was against it, then she would have to resort to subdue them instead. A bit more troublesome considering she had to hold back but she wanted her first job to go smoothly.

Claiming the driver seat herself, Kasumi immediately get the car started before she shifted the stick so as to bring them out of the parking lot. With her eyes focused on the road, she nodded slightly when Berry ask her about her stay in the guild.
"I certainly have. The guild members have been very kind to me thus far despite my questionable background." she replied. She had harbor doubts that she would be able to join the guild in first place especially when she mentioned her amnesia but it looks like the guild believe strongly in meritocracy that her doubt was needless in first place.
"As for the mission at hand, the list is inside the storage compartment. They've listed a few medical drugs like painkillers, antiseptic, stimulants as well as medical devices for us to take but I'm afraid my knowledge is rather limited to first aid." she explained even as she had her eyes focused on the road. "There's also a map in that compartment that show our destination. The pharmaceutical warehouse is located in an abandoned settlement about an hour drive from here. Apparently it used to belong to some big pharmaceutical company before the calamity. Also reports of sighting of raider convoy and hostiles creatures within the area but none of them had been spotted within immediate vicinity."

The look of surprised on Everett's eyes made her quirk her eyebrow slightly. Her eyes would glance quickly at the vehicle of her choice, wondering if they were already off to a bad start. Perhaps she should have chosen a van instead? She did remember the boys in charge of providing transportation look at her weirdly before shrugging. In hindsight, it probably would have been better if she made sure of her choice first.
The woman then step forward as she began to introduce herself, allowing Kasumi to inspect her. She was definitely beautiful with an innocent charm that she would have thought to be rare in this line of job. A small smile graced her own lips as she bowed her head slightly in response.
"The pleasure is mine. My name is Kasumi Ito. I'm new to the guild so please do not hesitate to instruct me where you see fit. I shall be in your care Miss Everett."
That...was a lot more stiff of an introduction then she had preferred. Perhaps she should have been more casual about it? Clearing her throat she would use the keys to open the door on both sides for them to get inside.
"Shall we get going then? We can discuss more on the mission along the way." the woman proposed, just as she was about to make her way to the driver side of the vehicle. Should Berry accept, the girl would climb inside to get the vehicle started. If not, she would stay so as to listen to what she would like to say.

Self preservation does seem to be a valid cause to choose such a destructive magic. Certainly she would prefer not to be eaten by one but do dragons even prey on human? Perhaps she should check if there was a book that expand more on their diet, if only to ensure she wouldn't be unfortunate enough to end up inside the stomach of one due to a careless approach.
"I suppose you have a point there." she finally said. The man followed this by his analysis of her chosen magic...Well, at least he didn't knock down her choice immediately. While it may not exactly be the most noble of magic among the three, she believe that her choice to be the right one.
"The pleasure is mine as well. Until we meet again Mr Prima."
When the man left the library in a rush, her lips curled into a slight smile. Pushing herself up from the table, she was a little surprised when the librarian approached her. Only when the librarian show her the torn book, her brows furrowed slightly as the blockhead had already fled.
"Good grief..." she sighed.

When it comes to social gathering, Kasumi was not the type to be overly enthusiastic about it. While she would definitely come if she's invited, she often find herself in the corner just observing the people that come to the party and their antics. The most difficult part for her when it comes to this party was deciding a present. Not only was she new to the guild, she hardly even knew her.
After much deliberation, she finally settled on a tote bag as a gift. For her, it looks pretty chic...at least that's what she think. Maybe she would get the person a better present next year when she know her better. Taking the purple party hat and putting it on top of her head she would look around for the girl in question. It didn't take long, she's probably the earliest member of the guild that come to the party as she can see no other familiar faces near her. At first, she consider walking back out and wait for the party to be filled with more people but changed her mind. Since she was already here she may as well introduce herself.
"Happy Birthday Miss Godfrey. My name is Kasumi Ito and I'm new to this guild. This isn't much but I hope you'll like it."the girl said as she handed over her present. She didn't make an effort to conceal the gift, just the bare necessities to place it in a gift wrap paper with no intent whatsover to hide the shape of it's content. |

A small chuckle escaped from her lips when the man describe himself as a blockhead. People she knew would be angry at being called one but the man before her simply acknowledged that without a slight sign of embarrassment on his face. The laughter however caused the librarian to look at their direction, a furrowed brow and hush sound from her lips. Kasumi nodded slightly, her next words slightly more hushed now that they were scolded by the librarian.
"But dragons are adorable creatures...why would you wish to slay them?" Kasumi asked, tilting her head slightly.They're certainly powerful but the ones she read about didn't seem to be malevolent.
When the question posed back towards her, Kasumi didn't answer immediately. She can understand why one would choose powers to slay creatures that's confirmed to be true but she had no qualms with one personally. If she had to choose a mythological being that she would personally slay then her answer would have to be that.
"I would say God. It doesn't sit well with me that I am mere pawn in the divine grand design. To be captain of your fate and master of your soul."

Rather than confirming or denying her question, the man had chosen a vague answer which basically confirmed her suspicion. The woman chuckles softly as she leaned back on her chair, her gaze directed towards the books she had compiled for him. In her opinion, there was really no reason for him to hide if it's just a quarry he's pursuing. For now she had a hunch but it would be better not to reveal anything just yet.
"Well, you certainly look the part at least." she said when Orion try to discount himself as a simple wizard. Now that Orion was onto her, it may be best for her to not engage him directly. There are other ways which she can use to find information without directly questioning the target.
"Though I meant if you had the ability to choose between those three slayers magic, which one would you choose and why?"

Now that's a piece of information that she had not known before. Sure she had seen fire eater and the like but these are more so performers they do not exactly eat fire to live. Being able to regenerate simply by eating these elements sound quite fascinating.
"I wasn't aware of that. If their magic goes beyond simply producing the element to being able to consume them to rejuvenate themselves,then it sound to me that rather than closeness they may be the personification of elements themselves. As the world is made of different elements, they may act as a sentient force of nature to balance things"
The more they proceed through the conversation, the more she was certain that this man had something to do with the slayer magic if not the owner of one such magic themselves. These question seem to be directed to the purpose of such magic after all.
"So god, demon or dragon?" she asked in a casual manner. She wasn't quite sure if she can pull it off but she may be able to trick him into revealing the nature of slayer magic and if he possess one.

Now the conversation took a turn for the interesting. She was never the religious or spiritual type, preferring to work her own miracles rather than leaving them to the whims of some divine powers. She took a moment to consider on how best to answer such question when the mage offered his hand to which she take and shook.
"The pleasure is mine as well, Mr Prima."
The conversation then drifted towards the calamity and whether or not these beings existed back then. Her eyes glance at the surrounding as she listened, half wishing that she was in a cafe instead of a library. Tea would have helped her collect her thoughts easier as she mull over the question posed upon her.
"This just speculation at this point but I'm pretty sure beings called God, Demon and even Dragons existed since these magic to slay them existed. Whether or not they are actually those beings in mythology is a matter of debate. Personally I think they're just wizards or witches with a lot of power on their hands compared to the beings around them, forming a cult of personality for those who would worship them."
