“Huh... sounds nice. Travelling around at your own pace, anyway. I'm not sure how it was when you had to do stuff for people, though. I imagine you'd have to move at their pace at that point.”
“What did I do? Like... pretty much nothing.” It was a response that was the exact opposite of enticing. “I just kind of lived and at some point, thought I would help the family business by enlisting in their guild here. Besides, parents aren't going to give you money forever even if they're perfectly capable of it.”
He did not sound particularly pleased about it and obviously drew from personal experience. His tone was plump with resentment, but fatigued as most of the words were formed from the remnants of a weary sigh.
“Getting your own money's nice, I guess...”

“Of course,” Jinn replied. “It's the form I naturally return to and was born as.”
It was somewhat strange offering a response as the figure continued to bend every which way. Regardless, assumption of a sought-after demonstration moved Jinn to elevate a paw. Its ends were caudled by green flames. They licked at its ends and danced about until abruptly expanding into a star-like mass of black and green flame. Its size easily trumped his own form's and threatened to seize the ceiling itself.
“Oops,” he said unconvincingly as it vanished as promptly as it appeared. Seeing no reason to keep the paw elevated, he brought it back to meet the wooden floor below.

"It's been enough time."
Jinn said something, but it did not seem to be in response to his sister. It was obvious what he referred to as a cloud of smoke burst from his feline physique. Again, he stood there as a human, albeit his face retained its usual apathy.
His eyes vaguely followed the frantic beast. It was moving strangely, but Jinn did not actually attempt to figure out what it was doing. He decided to fall forward lazily before catching himself with a foot that stomped into the waiting sands below. Some grains clung to the air as faint, subtle clouds of semi-transparent beige and others turned to glass as green flame raced forward, stopping directly in the beast's path.
A piller of fire rocketed upwards just as it reached the portion of ground Jinn soaked with his caustic magic.

A blink and a moment of silence. There were some jeers and other outcries from the humble crowd – if the few there could be called such a thing. It was not as big as an event as its organizer would have hoped.
“This is true,” he said after his feline features relaxed. “To think, though – if you were slightly more defensive, I wouldn't be able to steal your heat away.”
He came down to a relaxed, four-legged stance and looked for... who was the referee anyway? He supposed there was hardly a need for one, anyway.
“I wonder if this whole thing's done now...” he muttered to himself.

His attention was pulled back to the man.
“Oh – yeah, that's what I should look like one-hundred percent of the time.” He did not go on, however, and seemed perfectly content leaving it at that.
“The cleaning tools are for me; but, y' know, some time will have to pass before I can actually use them...” He looked about. While it was rather messy, he continued. “Does it really look so bad that it needs cleaning?”
The answer to that was most likely, yes.
“I'd ask what you're doing in here, but it's obvious given the purpose of the room. That and if I recall, you're a living legend. It's difficult to have that kind of title while lazing about and neglecting training, huh.”

A clank – dull and subdued drew Jinn's eyeline downward until it met the cup that was placed there before him. And then a pat on the head, which provoked a response that actually drew a simper to the feline's maw.
“Y' know, it'll be awkward when I get full control of my human form,” he cautioned. Though, the man was, ostensibly, one chalked full of love and affection. Jinn could not help but ponder to himself the reasoning behind those feelings and, of course, how authentic they were. The sentiment was innocent enough, but motivation always drove every action taken from anyone.
“I'm glad you like it so much here,” he said in his usual, plain manner. Was it suspicion steeped in his words or, rather, just his usual apathy – fatigue despite having just gotten up.
“Yeah, sure. Medium rare, I guess.” His eyes narrowed slightly.
“What'd you do before coming here, anyway?”

That chewing was an ongoing endeavour. Fairly famished the being was, but still did not hastily ingest the whole stick. However, it was nearing its end. Was he glad that the man found him intelligible and cute? Well, Jinn's eyes did widen slightly – very subtly and extremely missable; but they did. It was the faintest hint of an implication that could be expressed.
“Thanks.” So, seemingly, he appreciated it. There was no smile. Generally, cats did not smile, but his face was not exactly a cat's in the traditional sense. Perhaps it was capable, but at that point, only time would tell.
“How long?” His gaze fell elsewhere. A duration of pondering befell him as he pushed what remained of the gifted snack into his maw. His paws returned to the ground as he thought and as one would expect, there was little haste in his thought process.
“I've been around for years there. It's our family's guild, after all,” he finally said. “I don't do all that much, but starting soon-ish, I'll start doing things. Maybe now, even. I even have a job request right here with me.”

It was a curious ordeal; amusing if not for the grating whining. Feeling an obligation to offer an explanation, he did, but not without an introductory sigh.
“What do you want from me? I can't see it,” he explained. However she was able to find her mark, he did not know. It was due to that attack striking true did the creature re-emerge. It did so with the same vehemence as before, attacking all the while, purposed with revenge. Understandable.
“There you are,” he said at he pointed a paw skyward. A ball of flame expanded into view abruptly, trumping his own form in size. “Would appreciate if you didn't kill her. I'd be in so much shit...”
He flung the roaring orb of flame, forgoing trickery and siphoning and simply assaulting it with as much fire as he could muster.

Sand elementals – bodies held together by the realm of the mind – their forms were taken home by the three Odin's Spear mages, @tsu1, @sol, and @kasumi, glutinously stuck to them and the vechile they drove. Their arrival home bestowed upon them the opportunity to investigate three small sphere's of gold. Each picked one up and found, depending on their thoughts, the spheres melting away into sand only to reform if they willed it.

The high attack power of the elementals they fought was revealed by the razor-sharp granules of the golden sand. Each realized the best application was to think the sands over their preferred weapon. It would coat the weapon in gold, sharpening and enhancing what magic ran through it to deliver stronger basic attacks. @tsu1 had no use for such a thing and traded it to @tsu2 in exchange for a brief period of snuggles.

“Ah,” Jinn replied knowingly. It sounded like a disgusting meat. There was no point in trying to cook something like that, so he dismissed the thought all together. There was nothing sad about it. Dismissing thoughts and lying about was one of his favourite past-times.
And then the monster disappeared. Jinn watched it as it did. He expression was what it always was – but then again, the monster was content with fighting the both of them. It did so, most definitely, in many timelines. Jinn's eye already seized the whole of a fight between them. To him, he already fought it before. Perhaps that was why his expression was so weary all of the time.
“This thing is too fast for me... but I guess I'm pretty tough,” he reassured. “Well, all things considered.” He sat there with his paws in front of his body.
“I'm going to just wait...” he said as a yawn came over him.

"...But it had to be done," he said after the bear's head exploded.
He waved the suggestion away. He did not require witnessing it lose consciousness, but he was appreciative of the sentiment. It was clear. His expression was harbouring a faint smile, which was a rarity for him.
With a scrutinizing eye, he painted the remains of the bears over. A thought occurred to him.
"Does bear taste good? It's probably really tough and really gamy..." After everything that occurred, his thoughts really did go back to cooking. One way or another, it always did. They were animals and animals could generally be eaten - but whether or not it was worth the trouble of preparing them - that was a whole other story.

“There's that name, again,” he said in a begrudging tone. Something about betrayal followed, and so did some variety of energy projectile. He lazily looked up at what he perceived as an all-encompassing curtain of green. The impact spawned a localized explosion and sent the cat bouncing away like a skipping stone.
Though, he did not seem to mind.
How he picked himself up suggested, with a realization slightly dispiriting, that for whatever reason, the feline was used to it.
“Maybe I'll think about working on that,” he said to himself. It was difficult to say exactly what he was talking about, but the flame at Hilbert's foot was still there. With a clap from a hasty pair of paws, it exploded – but just a small one.
