"Yeah, I agree. It ain't real magic," he began with an all-too telling smirk. "It's real COOL magic." The statement was followed up with a wink. He was likely well aware the comment was not going to be well received. There was hardly much wit to it, but he did find it at least a little clever. The fact kept the corners of his mouth hoisted up.

"Oh, that's pretty cool." He did not sound disinterested, but not surprised either. To the likes of Ret, it was not something unheard of. In fact, he may have something in common with the guild master herself. "I guess if you really wanna do things on your own, it could be annoying. Personally, though, I like the idea of givin' control over t' someone else and having them deal with messes like this; BUT! I do like shooting things!"

So, he contradicted himself. However, it did appear that he understood the idea and surely, understood that some might prefer to tackle the frightening, cruel world Earthland had become with borrowed magic just like that one.

Ret found the whole ordeal very thrilling. It was exactly what he needed, or at least, that was how he felt. Requiring a flux of human and avian creature to screech at you was a strange menu item to want for. Any experience with something that could be perceived as a monster was of the utmost benefit to those who normally hunted them.

Ret noted to himself that it did appear that he was on his last legs. His guess was correct. It had been a great while since he had cross one with potent attacks as well as potent defences. It appears to always be one or the other. It was even somewhat true for him. He was just so slow and such was evident. The tackle hit and -

"GREAT SPIRIT KING, WHY!?" Ret cried. It was the most devastating tackle to date. Tackled to the ground, face to face with a snarling lion creature - well, maybe not snarling and he may have shot the lion mostly out of them. Regardless, he managed to get his feet between him and Rex and made an effort to kick him off. Pushing his feet away from him as his body utilized Rex's momentum to rock back in some variety of a reverse summersault, he attempted to cast him overtop himself and behind him.

"Well, hey - I mean, that's good to know!" Glasses did not mean anything to them - wait, them? The person definitely possessed a quaint air, but his disposition was overcome by a pungent mutation in both body and mind. The oddity he nigh embodied was being wielded as a weapon and a potent one at that. Before he knew it, he was washed over by a spirit-quivering roar and a mighty tackle. The impact ran bone-deep. It proved more than enough to topple Ret over and after coming to a stop stomach-up, he sat up to place his sparing partner back into his line of view.

"Well, damn. That's - that's a pair of lungs, right there, eh?" He chuckled. There were faint tones of restiveness mingled within his words. "But lemmie guess... just a sec!"

He pulled out a rifle.

Its colour scheme was black and red. It almost looked more like a plaything than an authentic firearm. Regardless, Rex was looking down the barrel of it as Ret pulled the trigger. What tore forth from its end was a bean bag - a non-lethal bean bag. In fact, that was what was written on the side of the butt of the gun; 'non-lethal.' There was no way he was approaching a scary dude like that for close-quarters combat!

"Alright!" The reply delighted him. That much was obvious. His tone rang with excitement. His body posture - well, he was squatting with bent arms and clenched fists as if he had just won the Grand Magic Games.

"So, the guild master was teaching me a few things. I'll try those things out!" With that, his body pivoted, so his side faced Rex. Ret's left leg lead, his right leg being the one furthest away. It looked as if Ret was about to throw hands.

"Oh, you know what?" The glasses on his face disappeared. However, there was a slight glimmer over the man's irises. "There. People tend to not like attacking people with glasses - at least not in the face. OkaynowPAWNCH!" Without warning, Ret just up and tried to punch the guy. He decided to punch him in the chest - well, attempt to. It was a standard punch, just as he had done in spars prior. Weight travelled from his right leg to his hips that turned his torso, and then he whipped his arm out with a balled fist.

"Hardly training well!" he called out at the distant man. The reply was nigh instantaneous, and at first, he had yet to turn an eye towards him. The task at hand, apparently, took priority - but it only did for an approximate two or three seconds. Then, Ret looked over to him, turned and the firearm in his possession vanished. He strode over with a smirk and an eye-obscuring glare eclipsing the glass of his frames.

"You're a part of the guild, yeah?" he questioned regardless of the obviousness behind it. To him, it was not too noticeable. He did not take note of too many with his eye mostly upon one specifically.

"You wanna train too." The next thing he said was not a question. It was more of a deduction. "Right? If so, train with me - no, wait. Against me! That's the real way to get better!"

"Right, right. My name. Do you know it? I don't know yours, but mine's Reticulum. Guess I should at least get introductions out of the way!" He started laughing to himself.

His head wiped right the fuck around.

"Oh, you know it!" Ret replied with vigour, with confidence and tempered excitement. It was fate, really. He was interested in a certain somebody, but they were unable to complete a contract at that point. Ret pondered if he would have just kept looking or even returned home. However, then he met the guild master of his potential master's guild.

Just look at her. She was so badass.

"Well, first you gotta aim with your dominant eye. Probably the same side as the hand you prefer to use." Ret demonstrated - well, he already was demonstrating.

"Then make sure to align them there back and front sights! And there's no point eyeing the target AND those sights, by the way. It's... REALLY hard to see all those things at the same time. Just focus on that .50 cal revolver!"

"Oh! You're good with marital art stuff, right?" He lowered the gun. "Let's do some of them fisticuffs!" As expected, Ret did not hold back despite one's status.

"You heard, right? Everyone pooling together, going to the source, seeing if everyone can end things right then and there? I totally want in on that!" There was nobody in the room he was in. It was just him and what looked like a pistol. Interestingly enough, his attention strayed from all around him to that pistol. The manner in which he did so suggested that yes, indeed, he was speaking to it. It was a very round-about way of speaking to one's self.

"But since coming here... Oh, I dunno... I made ART back home. ART!" Ret was hollering to himself. The room's door was open, so anyone could easily steal a gaze at him. "...No offence!" His attention was back on the gun.

"I need target practice. Lots and lots of target practice. Then I'll get back in my grove. These zombies won't' pose a problem then! Not for me!" He took aim at nothing... someone? If somebody was there, he assumed that nobody would be when he placed them in the firearm's sights.
