avery hall since when did the angels sing you that peaceful song?
A friendly woman overall, a tad cryptic in her words as she wanders the world; gathering information and writing all in her many books. She is not a merciful woman, and the many years she was raised by the poisonous dragon, Quvet, she was trained to not show anyone mercy whatsoever; even the slightest means one should not live at all. A curious, albeit, narrow-minded individual who desires knowledge than anything else -- why should she take a second glance to others? it's unheard of, but, piquing her interest in something that she does not know? One would be welcomed to the sight of the Wander Scholar searching for the answer.
While it seems a good majority of the time she travels by her lonesome, there is one person who is often by her side, a girl and a man who aids her. She adores them, but keeps them at a distance to keep herself sane as more of the poison in her body wrecks her entire being. The Wandering Scholar, born alone and should die alone as Quvet has stated when he died by her hands. She can be a tad dramatic and not understand social cues all too well, but she stands firmly on the knowledge she has accumulated throughout the many years she has traveled. She spreads her wisdom to others and has given items to certain people in order to see it later on.

Sup paper cat,
I want to throw Mercy at Avery. I was thinking the fact that she spreads wisdom would be something Mercy would seek after. Anything to improve herself. Otherwise, she'd probably think that Avery is a real weirdo – that is until she finds out that Avery is a slayer, in which case, she'd start milking Avery for all the information about being a slayer as well. And probably beg Avery to teach Mercy slayer magic. Which would most likely fail.

Hi Paper Cat, love the character! There's so much potential between Avery and Sovereign, and I think we can come up with fun plots! With Mercy being a wandering scholar and collector of knowledge, I think Sovereign would get on well with her. Quatro Cerberus, despite being full of criminals, was actually founded on the idea of collecting magical artefacts and keeping them safe/ preventing them from causing harm. If Avery wants to preserve ancient history and power, then Quatro Cerberus potentially wants to do the opposite. It's not the case with everything, but if Sovereign deems something too dangerous, he'll ask his members to kill or destroy it. Perhaps the two get cross paths with a certain ruin containing powerful magic. Avery wishes to explore and learn of its secrets, while Sovereign simply wishes to blow it up so nobody possesses such knowledge. This may cause a lot of friction between the two with their conflicting beliefs, but they may see eye to eye at one point. It would be nice if Avery teaches Sovereign to not be so fearful of old magic, and instead learn to preserve it like she does. The guild base does have a safehouse of old artefacts that used to be collected before the guild went bad, but only a few of them remain. Perhaps Avery could come round and identify them once their relationship gets better? She may not want to join the guild entirely, but Sovereign could view her as a valuable asset and ally of the guild to call upon her when needed. She seems to be the more knowledgeable one on these matters, so she might get lots of letters and requests asking for her advice. Let me know what you think and we'll go from there o.< Avery Hall

Could Avery teach Mercy slayer magic? :thinking: Or shall I have to get her to Devil status much like in that mafia game? :thinking:
While it is unlikely she is able to teach proper slayer magic the way she was taught, she can give Mercy some insight of the process but still keep an air of mystery to it. After all, it would be a shame to have a young child go through all the pains she had to endure when young. Not at all adept in battle, I think Avery can teach Mercy to at least be immune to certain types of poison that lingers in the air. Make her last longer if there are certain toxins.

Mercy Godfrey Both are in adoration of pursuing knowledge more than anything -- Sovereign for the sake of a legacy he is to keep and Avery for the sake of passing on the wisdom to others. Due to their difference in ideology they are of course, as you state, bound to have friction between them.
Love the idea of how the two might not get along at first with each other, but Avery is more than willing to teach young Sovereign about relics and ancient artefacts to him at any time he wishes to discuss it. Still he is young and willing to learn is a great thing too, so Avery might pass on wisdom, albeit a little of it.
Letters to one another and invited to the safehouse of the artefacts the guild stores -- all very likely as Avery seeks knowledge about those that are quite new to her.
Other than rehashing what you have stated, I am game for that!

I mean it's more like an "attempt to teach" rather than succeeding. Like mercy gets angry with herself that she can't learn it. but yeah i agree With the toxins thing as well. haha |

Given Kaida herself is an oddity, a monster born with Slayer magic, and not at all secretive about it, I'd imagine she could be a point of interest in terms of gathering knowledge. I don't know just throwing out ideas.
Kaida herself isn't much for knowledge, but finds herself more sympathetic to beings similar to her, another Slayer and a non-human at that is sure to pique her interest!
I don't got much, but I hope this is ok!

Hello P.Cat. Avery is such an interesting character. I'm not sure how well these two would get along but I'll jump to it anyway xD
Although Avery isn't much on understanding social cues, Alecx herself isn't up to the standards either haha. But she has read a few scholarly books in her foster parent's home and had a few tutors herself for some time. They could have a few smart conversations about this, but of course, the slayer is still more knowledgeable about things. I just think Alecx would be entertained by it.
I also think she shares the same idea for the "born alone, die alone".

If Rex ever got wind of this scholar that knew lots, he would probably go to try and meet. He could be a valuable source of new knowledge, considering his curse and being with a lesser divinity inside him, and would probably offer this as study in return for at least an idea of what did this to him. He doesn't want Anzu removed anymore, but would definitely like to either destroy whatever did this to him, or force it to make the process more natural, just to make his situation a little easier.
...or They could, you know, run into each other and have a chat, Rex habe learned some things, living so long.
