Catatonia seized her body when she watched the napalm burn the creature alive. The only discernible motion she made was the continuous rise and fall of her laboured breath. Jerusalem took pleasure in burning anything. Inanimate or animate, it did not matter. If it went up in flames, she enjoyed watching it burn. The creature was no exception.
After watching it melt and become as malleable as the water it sank into, she snapped out of her stupor. Vitality returned to her body, and her eyes became alert. Had anyone wanted to get the jump on her, that might have been their opportunity to act unimpeded.
The woman listened to Bandit’s words. Flicking a flame into existence on her palm, she watched the sunset tongues dance within her illuminated pallor. She shook her head, as though she failed to produce a concrete answer to his question.

An eruption of flame burst underneath her feet, rocketing her in front of Bandit through an extreme episode of propulsion. When the creature released its expulsion of crackling electricity in the raccoon man’s direction—now her direction—she served as a lightning rod and caught the array of thick, cerulean ribbons and flashing lights with her index and middle finger.
Pushed back while continuing to take on the flash of energy, she landed on her feet on the shore. Straining for a moment, her eyes achieved a sudden clarity while she seemed infused by the monster’s lightning. Pointing her fingers towards it, she used her own manipulation of the force to redirect it towards the beast. Additionally, she pooled a generous amount of her own high voltage into the mix to increase the output.
Not letting up, Jerusalem conjured a grouping of massive, napalm-based centipedes from herself and sent them flying in the direction of the beast. They sought to wrap around the beast with the horrific, flaming muck. A few of them even attempted to crawl into the creature’s mouth, to both choke it and burn it from the inside out. The flames failed to struggle against the presence of water, evaporating it on contact. -- HP: 120/120 | MP: 75/110

”Aren’t they always?” Jerusalem quipped, her tone flat and mechanical.
Cracking her neck, Jerusalem created a circle of flames around her. Fuelled by napalm, the inferno grew around her. She moulded it to the shape of a pair of snakes, circling around her and baring their fangs in the direction of the sentient tree that erupted from the ground. The fire generated an asinine amount of heat, enough to turn a volcano green with envy. Both igneous serpents hissed in defiance, the Godfrey intending to cremate the hunk of bark until naught remained.
Before she did, the creature seemed to turn its attention towards Ivory. Eh? Kind of a mood killer. Discerning hints of emotion on the redhead’s face was difficult. Hard to read, she tilted her head to the side and seemed to don a quizzical expression.
”I don’t know, man. It seems like it's got the hots for you, hotstuff.”
Though the colossal entity started progressing at a sluggish pace towards the albinistic fire user, she maintained a vigil over it as though waiting for an opportunity to strike. The strategy mirrored the tactics of the hellish serpents surrounding her. Ivory Volkov | Post 9

”Cute,” Jerusalem replied with indifference, allowing the jettisoned wad of blood to contact her cheek. It seemed to burn away the moment it collided with her skin; the electrical currents hot enough to evaporate most liquids uninvolved with Magic on contact. The damage she suffered before mended thanks to her divine abilities, a God-given right revolving around sadism and incineration.
The hammer fist collided with her cranium, and a jolt of pain seized her body. Despite the sensation pounding her head, the only response the woman garnered from Jerusalem was the same hollow stare she exhibited throughout the bout. Not only was her sense of pain diluted through drug interference, but she seemed to care little about even pain and suffering.
Sliding her arm around and behind the redhead’s neck, engaging an under hook behind her head. This position was often called the Captain Hook. Walking Morgan’s extended arm up to her head with her free hand, she heightened her hips into the air in a tripod position, before passing over to Morgan’s side. Applying a tremendous amount of pressure to her carotid, and she refrained from letting go until she felt her go unconscious. Then she would release her.
This technique was called the arm-triangle choke. -- HP: 98/120 | MP: 110/110

Funny girl, Jerusalem thought to herself, noticing Morgan refraining from detaching herself from her. Can’t say I’m opposed, though. Giving her hand another reassuring squeeze in response, she fixed her attention on the beast before them. It posed a great danger to most people, its predatory instincts, stature and natural weaponry spelling the end for the ill-prepared. Unfortunately for the monster, it stumbled upon a pair of magic practitioners.
”I’m gonna eat it,” the woman reiterated in response, assuring that Morgan knew her intentions. Her expression failed to shift while she spoke those words, deadpan and serious. Traces of humour still tinged each word, indicating the satirical, dark humour she sported. I bet it’s going to taste like shit, though.
Using electromagnetic influence derived from her secondary Magic, Jerusalem pried the iron particles from both air and the ground to create what appeared to be a mixture of dark, black grains in the air. With the flick of her wrist, she used the beast’s momentum against it. Grabbing the tail or whatever else it used to move with a tendril of amorphous black, she attempted to trip it. Her eyes narrowed, and she sneered.
Hope this gives Morgan a chance… Morgan Laroux | Post 4

“Fuck…”
From within a dome of solidified metal, her muffled voice emerged. It took a tremendous amount of Magic to perform the feat, but through uncertain means she managed to create what appeared to be a dome of iron around her. What remained of the now molten metal revealed her true form; crimson eyes and red hair, the brand of the notorious devil of yore. Sighing, she dispersed the metal back into the air and ground from whence she pulled it.
“Guess so. And don’t worry about it. I’m the last person in the world who’s going to whine about accidental fires,” Jerusalem said in response, bloody orbs fixed on Ivory’s own. For her, the more fire, the better. Even if she burned in the process, at least she would garner the experience of being burned alive. Sounded horrible, but it probably beat living anyway.
Before she uttered another sentence, she noticed movement in the soil ahead. Once again, another entity seemed to be struggling for survival and prying itself from the ground. It seemed to be constructed of wood and bark, and she cultivated warmth in her chest as the prospect of burning more shit. Ivory Volkov | Post 8

”Yeah. It would be help…”
Bandit started taking his pants off. It interrupted whatever thought process she had for that moment, and instead she found her expression resetting. Raising a gloved hand, she scratched the side of her head. Defying expectations, she spoke.
”I would join you, but I’m already barely wearing any.”
While she advanced forward, she watched him prod the water with his claw. Though she ascertained an event might have occurred, she had no idea what. It seemed to defy her vision, and caused her to furrow her brow. Flecks of confusion appeared within her jaded eyes.
”Well, it’s alright. I’ve grown tired of living anyway.”
When a volcanic eruption of nightmare fuel exploded forth from the water, the woman turned her attention up. Fortunately for her, and unfortunately for her partner in crime, the fiendish aquatic monstrosity attempted to dine on him first. It all happened before she could react, and she had nothing useful to offer aside from burning it before it did too much damage.
”Fucking ew…” she trailed off, holding her ground as flames wreathed around her hands. Hair becoming crimson as trails of flame licked the ends of it, she surrounded herself in what appeared to be seething napalm. Since it burned a substance, dark clouds of smoke billowed off it.
Whirling around in a mix of elemental channeling and martial arts, the woman shoved both fists forth in front of her. A voluminous spray of molten flames exploded from her fists, a veritable flamethrower of adhesive, burning death targeting the river’s voracious monster. In sheer size, it seemed to rival the stature of the beast itself. -- HP: 120/120 | MP: 85/110

”At least you’re correct about that.”
After having witnessed a feint from her before while observing the bout between her and Audrey, she turned her attention elsewhere. Though her efforts failed to provide a window of opportunity to avoid the attack, she decided to exploit the weakness to throwing higher kicks liberally. Though the blow slammed into her midsection hard enough to cause pain to erupt through it, she attempted to wrap both of her arms around the redhead’s ankle.
Naturally, the moment she performed the feat the opposition would have felt as though she just struck an electric fence. The lightning permeating her body felt like a short visitation to the electric chair, and she attempted to exploit the gap in her defenses that would have raised. This manifested in the form of her grasp scaling up her leg, almost hugging it to her person, and she went for a single-leg takedown.
Should fortune favour her and grant her success with her action, her dexterous movements would bring her straight into full mount, straddling the woman below her at the waist. Frigid gaze wandering to her aggressor’s, she raised her elbow high. In a flicker of motion enhanced by the electricity pumped through her veins, accelerating her metabolic functions and blood circulation, she swung downward towards her forehead and temple area with a slashing elbow. -- HP: 98/120 | MP: 101/110

Hollow eyes widening, she sensed the feeling of someone attempting to lace their fingers with her own. While she had no reservations against it, it surprised her that the redhead initiated the gesture. Finding it difficult to foster any aversion towards it, she accepted. Interlocking her fingers with Morgan’s, she gave her hand a small, reassuring squeeze.
Though Jerusalem became emotionally numb at least ten years ago, she understood that others did not have this characteristic. With that feeling she had left, she wanted to at least be a little useful in this situation. She could afford to take it seriously.
Hearing her speak about her home becoming what it was today, she decided to pull her closer. If Morgan wanted to use her as a beacon of support, she was fine with it. Jerusalem had no attachment to any certain place, but she understood the concept of it. To her, a place was just another abode she found sanctuary from the ill-will of other people. Four walls and a roof, nothing more. To the other woman, it was more than that. She acknowledged it without any quips.
Then came the inhuman shriek. Her eyes narrowed when she heard it, because the sound grated on her ears. Intending to cremate whatever decided to scream at her, she turned in the direction it came. Jerusalem discerned what appeared to be a chimera. The bastardization of a monkey, tiger, and sea lion presented the world with another perversion of nature. Wonderful. Residuals from its last hunt lingered on its mouth, and she wagered it was supposed to be intimidating. She sneered.
Pointing her free hand in its direction, she wreathed her arm and its extremities in flames.

It was not often people told her that they enjoyed the idea of watching a man or woman burn alive. Lips curling into a sneer of her own at the prospect, she thought that their partnership would be a fascinating one. Most people turned the other way or subjected her to endless amounts of emotional abuse when she grew up. Nowadays, the cowards tended to avoid her or face the consequences of becoming eligible to roast marshmallows on. In contrast, Bandit took interest in the idea of her morbid obsession.
”Oh, these days barely even scratch the surface. When I was just a brat, I hard trouble controlling it. Combined with the pyromania, we had to leave many communities out of fear of them trying to burn me at the stake,” she said, her eyes narrowing as she directed her attention aimlessly ahead. ”Rumours kept spreading though. It was a game of figuring out the place most tolerant.”
A momentary pause as she glanced towards her hand. Opening it and closing it, she stared at her palm as though reading its lines for her fate.

After the impromptu high five, the purple-haired woman looked at her hand. She seemed uncertain, or too high, to discern the meaning behind it. It seemed that Audrey wanted her to take the stage, and she felt almost too lazy to oblige the request. And then Morgan opened her mouth, and she directed a dull gaze in her direction.
Listening to her reminded her about why she detested humanity. Their arrogance, their vices and their misconceptions. Greed—hubris—envy—everything stirred the emotions she attempted to bury through her immense intake of alcohol, drugs, and sex. That one tried to lecture her about the habit. Pushing herself up, she dusted herself off.
“You’re annoying me. I’ll remind you why you’re the King of Nothing, and your ill-fated reign expired long ago. What self-gratifying altruism you meted out in the past is eclipsed by the fact you don’t have a dick anymore, keep your meaningless, naïve spiels to yourself.”
Electricity crackled throughout her body, and forced the amethyst locks to become mussed and spiked in different segments. Rather than hostility, she became like a void. Her eyes deadened, and a lack of feeling or emotion seemed to define her as apathy and ribbons of lightning coursed through her veins. It was the hollow, pungent aura of a woman who did not give a single fuck anymore. Not the faintest, tiniest glimmer of regard for anything.

”I do that a lot. I have two types of Magic – one of them being Napalm, and the other being Lightning – the latter runs its course through the body fast before grounding itself. Unless I keep pumping it into them. Still, it’s good for warning shots, a little tease, before I just set them on fire and watch. I’d like to show you how soothing watching things burn can be,” she elaborated, unable to resist talking about her favourite thing.
The part of her that ended up causing her own alienation and frustration over the years – damned because she could not call herself a boring Stepford Smiler with a tendency to bend over at every opportunity for others to prove superiority for validation.
With an eye fixed on the rushing waters ahead, Jerusalem continued to speak in response to Bandit. A rare commodity for her, dry laughter emanated from her when she heard about the ill-fates of the people who failed to pay up.

Jerusalem occupied the short lull in conversation with more smoking. Sucking on the proper end of the paper-wrapped funny leaves, she produced more smoke from both nose and mouth and encouraged her brain to be more receptive to the bullshit of others. For this circumstance, she was almost at a loss for how unnecessary it seemed to be, however.
”Sure. I’m probably thinking too optimistically, but electricity powers and water might give me an advantage when it comes to frying whatever freakshow grew too big for the pond,” she started, and advanced with him in the direction of the river. Jerusalem had no idea what was in store, but word-of-mouth educated her on the contract they established. Take out the pest, get the money. And money served her obsessions well.
She sneered. ”Even if we’re too fast with this, I’m sure there’s nothing we can’t coerce out of them by twisting a few arms in the wrong direction.” Notorious B.I.G. | Post 3

There's Always a Price... a mission ft. jerusalem
Sept 28, 2019 21:42:16 GMT
edited on Sept 28, 2019 21:42:33 GMT by Jerusalem Godfrey
A nod followed his inquiry of whether they met before. In fact, she might not have been privy to his movement should that factor been excluded. Had she set her eyes on the situation, she might have spoken anyway, though. There was an additional air of familiarity when it came to the raccoon man before her.
”That’s right. I’m Jerusalem Godfrey, from the guild,” she started in response. It felt refreshing to talk to someone of similar mind for once. Often surrounded by idealists and crusaders, it she incurred the sensation of finding another person who did not give a simple shit anymore. She knew the feeling.
”And you’re Bandit, right? Same guild, Southern Wolves. I only joined the band recently, though.”
Now she felt more in her element. As though the wool had been lifted over her eyes, the encounter already reminded her of the core values she harboured within. Authenticity claimed her words—she really only joined the guild a couple months ago at most. Notorious B.I.G. | Post 2

”I doubt they’re spending their savings for anything benign,” she started, appearing to have been observing the interaction from several metres away. Standing there with a blunt wedged between her lips, she inhaled and caused the tip of what once was an illicit substance to burn as bright as her igneous Magic was known for. Taking the smoke into her lungs, she exhaled through her nose after a few moments.
”They just want it for recreation—most settlements aren’t fortunate enough to have savings in the first place. This place enjoys a lucrative bounty of different livestock, and often benefits from trade with communities lacking in the exact same thing. In short—though I doubt I need to state the obvious,” she continued, her lips curling into an evident sneer while she looked onward.
”They’re shit.”
As if she needed to state the obvious at all. Accustomed to seeing this, she took another hit of the one thing that kept her sane—a lack of sobriety. Notorious B.I.G. | Post 1
