MISSION NAME: The Harvester CLIENT: Siltstone Wetlands CHARACTERS: Orion Prima & Mod MISSION BRIEFING: Corpses of adventurers have been found strung up in the marshes, dead and cocooned in a sticky web. The attacks seem to be random, as they're found all across the bog and not just one concentrated area. It's impossible to enter now without the risk of being wrapped up and killed, we need someone to find the source of these strange murders. REWARD: Standard Mission Rewards + Special Item upon completion.
There was something haunting about the jungle, it was no longer vibrant and green. Life seemed to be sucked out of it, and a thick mist hung beneath the trees like a blanket. Very little light shone through the canopy, leaving the trees and everything else in the jungle to only be visible through silhouettes. It made it difficult to tell the difference between the large vines and even larger serpents, and you could only tell when it was too late. Insects seemed to thrive in the jungle lately, however, anyone inside would find themselves the target for many mosquitoes or other creepy crawlies. Some ways at the edge of the jungle was a small village, an outpost of travellers and explorers who used the jungles resources to survive. It was clear they were struggling for food, basic supplies, and grieving for the loss of friends and family who had recently died within. On a large wooden table was a big sheet of fabric, with an intricate painting of the Siltstone Wetlands and its landmarks. Dotted all across it were pins that marked where people had been found hanging in a cocoon of slime. They were nowhere near each other, so whoever took this mission would simply have to explore anywhere in hopes of finding the source.

MISSION NAME: Hanging Tree CLIENT: Dacite Village CHARACTERS: Open MISSION BRIEFING: The town has been stricken with terrible grief. Over the course of a week, 8 people have hung themselves, all from the same tree down by the farm. The people had no relation to each other, and showed no signs of wanting to do such a thing especially since some are so young. The town has decided it is cursed, and can't find a way to burn or cut the tree down. Magical forces are at play here, please cleanse the curse inflicted upon the town before it gets worse. OOC: A spirit has marked this town as its target, a recently deceased woman who was driven to death by her own husband, after he was caught having an affair. Her name was Isabelle, a member of Dacite Village and late-wife to Hugo. For revenge, she is now enthralling the minds of others to part the same way she did, hanging from the tree at the end of the farm. She is stronger than LV.1, but this can be resolved another way through getting Hugo to confess his sins to everyone etc. REWARD: Standard Mission Rewards + Special Item upon completion.

MISSION NAME: Dune Runner CLIENT: Salt Desert CHARACTERS: open MISSION BRIEFING: Creatures of some kind have crawled from the sands of the salt desert, humanoid spirits with supernatural speed and control over the sands itself. There are 4 of these 'dune runners' (as they've been known to Ignimbrite locals) and they whip up devastating sandstorms when they run. Attacking travelling merchants and swamping towns in sand, they've proven to be quite aggressive to society and must be dealt with. REWARD: Standard Mission Rewards + Special Item upon completion.

Orion avoided the first tentacle, dodging it just in time as it slammed into the boat. The second one however, did whack into his chest, while the third also met its mark as it beat the young woman onto the hard wood. The mouths lined with sharp teeth that were randomly dotted along the tentacles would hiss and scream, almost like they belonged to countless dead bodies. Corpses that had fell victim to this monstrous creature. The black beady eyes on the tendrils of rotten flesh would stare down at the katana of the man, watching as black electricity built up around it before he released it in a circular slash. The air practically got torn apart with the magical lightning, the power making a loud ripping sound as it cut deep into each tendril. They writhed and hissed, thrashing about momentarily. Two had been shocked so badly that they were now stunned, making it harder for them to see or move. In an angry fit of rage, one tentacle would hit hard against the boat, going to crush it completely to put the two wizards in the water. Another would retreat slightly under the surface, and attempt to grab Orion by the leg, ensaring around it completely and dragging him under the murky depths. At the same time, the third tentacle would dart towards his chest, a mouth opening wide to leech off his own blood.

Annoying Dead [Event/Closed]

Chaos ensued, the poor town that had already been under attack from the undead was now under heavy siege. They had broken through the defenses, and were inside the main area. Zombies ran amok in the streets, leaping from building to building as bloated flies buzzed through the air, leaving plump maggots writhing along the ground. The fruit in Mynte's hand rotted between her fingers, the red draining away rapidly into grey as it withered into a stinking pulp. In fact, all the fruit and veg that had been toppled over had the same effect, all because of a single horde of zombies. They were quick and athletic, despite their rotting flesh and bony frame. Once human, the necrotic magic had twisted their bodies into something more bestial, lacking eyes or hair or noses. Instead, there were two slits for their nostrils, and their mouths jutted out slightly and were lined with teeth like a shark. Along their back were small glands that secreted a green mist. Although only harmful to fruits for the moment, just how long would that last? They clambered up walls and leapt from roof to roof. The speed they travelled at was incredible, and it took a sharp eye to watch them dart back and forth. Their sharp claws ripped into fleeing townspeople, teeth tearing out throats and gas making some choke. Then, the whole pack shifted their attention to three wizards. They made an eerie clicking sound, their heads snapping left and right as if they were communicating with one another. In an instant, they all began to pounce towards them, with nothing but fast and feral instinct.

It had been watching for a while now, silently keeping its gaze on the images above the surface. The sounds, the ripples, the way the boat rocked back and forth in the gentle breeze. They were relaxed, calm, and overall plain careless. It wasn't just wild monsters that lived on this island, but the recent awakening of an undead plague added new horrors to the world. Its touch reached far and wide, overseas in fact. And it had nested on this small yet bountiful island, growing fat and full off the creatures that lived here, and the adventurers that travelled here. Orion Prima and Fayre Ghirardelli may have seen something in the corner of their eye, but they would have been too slow to properly see it. They'd hear something enter the water, the only sign that it happened were the newly made ripples now spreading out from the muddy bank. The water was too murky to see anything underneath, and it may have just been a simple animal. Nothing to worry about. A while would pass since it happened, then a few bubbles rose to the surface. Something snagged on Orion's line. If he was quick to react, he'd be able to hold onto it, but whatever had caught it was strong. Strong enough to pull the entire boat if he didn't let go. It moved quickly, dragging them away from the original spot until suddenly, they were in a much larger part of the river, where the bank either side was much further away. The boat would stop moving, and nothing pulled the line anymore. A few bubbles rose to the surface, big and murky and slick with what looked like oil. Bursting out from every direction of the water were three large fleshy tendrils, as tall as the trees that grew on the land. They were lined with sharp teeth and had mouths covered sporadically across the rotting flesh, blood dripped from the gashes and black beady eyes would glare down at them from the tips of the tentacles. One by one, they'd quickly fall down on the boat, each aiming to crush their bones.

Maggots rained down, exploding and popping as corrosive acid burnt into the ground in hot pursuit of Mercy. But she was fast and nimble, avoiding the attack completely as she charged inwards and grabbed hold of the metal pole. It was firmly lodged into the zombies face, and after she got a firm grip of it, she used it to her advantage again to grapple it and prevent the zombie from moving properly. Ivory, in her large dog form, would bound over with her incredible size and leap through the air. Her hefty weight slamming into the zombie and slamming it into the ground, creating a loud and sickening squelch underneath her giant paws as it practically exploded under her weight. Whatever formed the creature had now splattered everywhere, the maggots flying through the air and landing on the ground with no life in them at all. They had worked quickly and efficiently to put down this zombie, and their teamwork had paid off. All that lay before them now was a mangled heap of flesh, bone and insect larvae.
