For someone who felt so awful for killing these poor children, he sure didn't hold back when he released a final attack. Perhaps it was just the overwhelming emotions that unhinged his strength, making Orion unleash overwhelming amounts of electricity upon the screaming children. Or maybe he just enjoyed it? Their bodies fell to the ground, the bones that sprouted from their bodies cracked and splintered. Maggots gushed out their bodies, writhing around on the ground next to their now defeated hosts. But that wasn't the end. No, that was just the beginning. The children's bodies were weak, starved. They lacked the same amount of power an adult would have, and thus, the magic reacted to it accordingly. It was constantly adapting, reacting insanely fast to the recent attacks upon them. Past the webs, were various piles of mining equipment that the stupid kids had brought with them. There were pickaxes, rucksacks, wheelbarrows, and a large floodlight which had been the source of the light from before. It suddenly flicked back on, starting off low and growing brighter with each second. There was an electrical hum accompanying it too, as if it was charging up to a light that it was not made for. It was blinding, and eventually, it built up so much with power that the lens smashed and the light blew. Darkness, once again. The pile of dead bodies before them would shift and turn, the sounds of bone scraping against stone could be heard as moist sounds of flesh fusing with flesh was also apparent. Something had risen once more, larger than a child and only a single mass. It was human, yet not, a horrifying amalgamation of those previously slain. A cacophony of screams would follow, a low rumble of a beast though still maintaining the pained screams of young ones. Its arms were just masses of twisted flesh, writhing around like serpents as each appendage came hurtling forwards, stretching out to harm and grapple both of them. Environmental Condition: Darkness. All attacks made by Orion and Cheshire will be at a disadvantage unless a source of light is sustained each post. You can use your bonus action each turn to counter this e.g. Orion can use his bonus action to keep a spark of lightning flickering, Cheshire can use her bonus action to enhance her animal senses.AMALGAMATION (A). A storm was brewing, not with lightning, nor rain, but with the very sands that covered this land. The power of awakened spirits were unleashing its fury upon the inhabitants of this desert, using the sand of this land against them. They were almost human, their bodies lean and muscular, but they were made of magic, swirling around in an ever-changing madness of the sand. They had no facial features like a human, but instead had a single red light glowing within the swirl of sand, almost like an eye. There were four of them, four enraged spirits that had been running after the truck for quite some time now. Although their legs and feet weren't visible due to the sand and sheer speed they were running at, you could still hear them pounding away at the ground like drums. All four were chasing the truck, seemingly working together as they were split off slightly in hopes of surrounding it. But a barrel was quickly unleashed, and exploded with a powerful force that sent a couple off course. It slowed them down and dazed them, giving Anniken enough time to fire a bolt of telekinetic force at one of them. The power slammed into its chest as it began to run again, knocking it back as it hissed at her. But they were quick to their feet, and the four were on their trail again. As if they had been holding back somewhat, the dune runners would show them a new kind of power. One would sprint forwards with such speed that it overtook the truck momentarily, not only slamming into the side but also whipping up a violent sandstorm that would lash and whip at everyone on board the vehicle. Then the other three would move with such speed and agility that they'd vanish into the newly made storm.

Was it time? Yes, almost. It's body travelled across the forest like a shadow being stretched across the ground. Orion acting like a beacon of light within its home, its new domain. He wouldn't know what would hit him, the creature that was the offspring of something far greater. It's body was huge, slinking across the mud and through the trees as swiftly as the wind through leaves. It made no sound, showed no sign of ever being in one place. All it left were breadcrumbs, the people that it would cocoon in its liquids and hang up for its mother to witness from the stars. It was all for her, all to please the one that gave it and its siblings life. ~ The one who called himself the god of thunder would go deep into the jungle, deeper than most people would have. The longer he continued to travel, the more it seemed to resist his presence. Leaves grew more dense, the mud became more stiff and the insects swarmed around him even further. And then, in the corner of his eye. He'd see it. A flash of something, slinking in and out the trees just a little too quick for his eyes. When he turned to face it, it moved out of sight. He wouldn't be able to see what it was, but he knew something was there. Hands? Eyes? It was too quick to say for certain. With every spin he took, every direction he glanced in, the jungle around him grew darker. It was like he was being gradually placed into a different area, the canopy above became so dense that hardly any light shone through. Visibility underneath became shorter, as the gaps between the trees looked like nothing but windows into the void. Droplets of something would begin to fall around him. It would seem like a light rain, but it was warm and gloopy against his skin. If he were to look up, he'd see people. Dozens of them, cocooned in the same sticky substance as the dead man he burned to ashes. They were strung up like puppets, unable to move as insects feasted on their dead bodies. They were all positioned in such a way that they were staring down at him, their lifeless eyes suddenly filled with the emotion of despair and pain. The heavy question of 'why?' beginning to beat down on Orion. Why did nobody protect them?
Why did nobody find them?
Why did nobody save them? A shrill scream tore through the silence of the jungle. A woman's voice, filled with fear. She was somewhere close, somewhere nearby. And alive.

Both Orion and Cheshire were managed to be hit, their flesh being torn at from the dishevelled yet surprisingly strong corpses. With Orion's small light and Cheshire's senses, the'd be able to see them slightly clearer. Their hollow cheeks, sunken eyes and extremely visible ribs. Their stomachs had completely caved in, some had their guts hanging out while others were barely holding together. When both Orion and Cheshire unleashed a strong AoE attack on them all, they would be thrashed about and harmed by the shadows and lightning. It burnt away at the little flesh they had, or pierced through their skulls and bones. But despite their successful attack, they were still alive. Somewhat. They screamed out in agony, their undead groans quickly morphing into the voices of children as pain overtook their senses. It was almost like they were human again, crying in desperation and begging for mercy. Some would fall to their knees, weeping and crying. Others would reach out as if asking for help. It was emotional torture, yet just another sick and twisted attribute of this black magic. Continuing to replicate the voices of when they were alive, they'd lurch forwards after getting the chance. Bones would sprout from their bodies like sharp blades, the distinctive sound of flesh tearing filling the mines as it did so. With bladed apendages now at their disposal, they'd aim to slice and tear at them all. Not only would this drain their health and return it, but also provide added protection against attacks. Environmental Condition: Darkness. All attacks made by Orion and Cheshire will be at a disadvantage unless a source of light is sustained each post. It landed successfully, its sharp, almost knife-like legs had sunk into Orion's flesh as the sticky silk sprayed across his body, only adding to the pain with its acidic effect. It had hoped to be able to begin the final chain of attacks after that, now that its prey had been wrapped up. But the man shrugged it off entirely, black lightning zipping across his body and shredding the webbing off him like paper. He was free instantly. The jaguar-spider, now halfway up a tree staring down with its multiple eyes and bared fangs, would let out another monstrous roar as it leapt down. But halfway through the air, it felt the force of lightning once again. It was sent flying back, slamming against a tree as the same lightning rippled across its large body. Its flesh was sizzling, releasing a nasty odour into the air as it let out its final cries. It was finally dead. At that same time, the silver webs that had surrounded Orion would begin to melt away, as if connected to the life force of the creature somehow. He was now free to roam around again, and the cute amphibians would return to the area once again, as if to celebrate his victory with a series of innocent blinking and odd croaks.

Annoying Dead [Event/Closed]

Gnashing at the air and growling at Kasumi, the two zombies would circle her as her body was reinforced with defence magic. Her feet anchored themselves into the ground, and she was practically begging for the creatures to jump forwards and attack her. The glands on their backs opened up slightly, the gasses poured out even further and took a more visible, green hue as they leapt forwards. Not only would they harm her with teeth and claws, but the gas would instantly bubble and blister her skin if it got through her defense. Meanwhile, although Mynte took a heavy amount of damage, she lashed out with an attack of her own. Powerful magic built up in her throat before she unleashed it in a raging torrent of boiling water. It slammed into the creatures, shattering their brittle bones and burning their flesh. When the water washed away, they were left twitching and dead on the floor. A newcomer then arrived at the scene of chaos, his quick reactions allowing him to quickly transform into a faux deity of flame and fury, as a bolt of the same magic was formed in his palm before it came flying down skewering a zombie near Kasumi. Three of them had been killed already, which was no difficult task considering how weak they were. But their lack of vitality was made up for with the sheer numbers they swarmed in. When some died, others would run into the fray to take their place. Some would convulse violently as they sprouted wings like a fly before taking off into the air with an ear splitting buzz. They'd begin to dive bomb Mynte and Quinn, releasing toxic gasses at the same time with the same blistering effect.

Nialah was right, there was something in the road ahead. But it was no bandit nor beast, it was a woman. She was bloodied and bruised, her left eye hardly visible due to intense swelling around it. She stumbled forwards, holding the dead weight of her husband. "Please! Help!" She screamed, collapsing to the ground with the man in her arms. She sobbed, holding him in her tight embrace. Various people in the wagons were curious now, peeking out and shining a light on her. She was the only visible thing in the darkness, a spotlight was practically shining on her. It was this light shining on her that caused her to die. In the blink of an eye, a black mass shot across the road. It was huge, yet moved with such speed and ferocity that it was impossible to tell what it was. Just like that, the woman and her husband had vanished, leaving a pool of blood on the track that she had collapsed at. People at the front of the convoy would scream, frantically looking about and shining their torches around the area. But there was nothing to be seen, just the darkness of the surround trees and rubble. "What the fuck was that?!" "Did anyone see it?!""Those people! Where did they go?!" This was just a few of the things being shouted out, but so far, nothing had made itself visible just yet. Whatever had attacked that poor man and woman was still out there, watching. Waiting.

Ah, the forest was attacking, defending itself from the intruder. The one known as... Orion. Yes, that's the name of the flesh. The flesh that waded through its mud, swatted at its insects, and attacked its siblings. It was coming soon, Orion would meet it. He would come to the realisation that there are greater forces of this world, forces that men with swords should not interfere with. ~ The attack the mutated spider had made was a success, though it still managed to bite down on Orion, it was tossed off of him before it could completely crush his skull. Skittering across the mud, its long legs would sink down into it slightly. But a web shot up into the air quickly pulled it out, though not in time to avoid the wave of crashing thunder and lightning. The attack slammed into the spider, sending it hurtling back against a nearby tree. Although Orion was right that the beast could not respond to him, he was incorrect in thinking this was the cause of the attacks. The substance that was wrapped around the man was different to the silver threads trapping Orion in a makeshift cage. It was much like a spider's silk, yet the goo around the man was more like phlegm. In a mixture of a hiss and a roar, the spider would jump forwards towards his face. Its sharp appendages reaching out to skewer Orion while its abdomen was aimed for his face, spewing out acidic silks in order to harm and snare him. our future, destroyed [mission/event]

They were all friends, holding hands as they explored the mines with their wild imagination. Some were superheroes, or pretended to be the villain, while others were the poor damsel in distress. Their group was big, their friendship for one another strong. But they were just children. Young children who had no idea what horrors lied beneath the ground in the mines. Imagine the fear they felt. Imagine seeing some of your friends being crushed under collapsing rubble, being entangled in spiderwebs with no way out. The screams of terror, the cries that were so full of fear that sound didn't come out. Then imagine surviving that, for just a few days. Hungry, tired, with no way out of the mines. That's how they died. When something in the mass of spider webs shifted, it would not be insects as Cheshire had thought. It was larger. Human in fact. There was playful laughter, innocent singing. But the sounds of crying beneath it all. A light would suddenly appear behind the wall of cobwebs that separated the wizards from the horrors on the other side. That light appeared so suddenly, so abrupt, and revealed the silhouettes of multiple children standing on the other side. Their dark shapes so perfectly defined by this odd light, you could see them all hanging uncomfortably in the webs. They stirred and shifted, eyes that were once innocent and pure now filled with hunger and pain. They all looked down at Orion and Chesh, groaning and crying as they began to tear themselves out of the webs. One by one, the undead children would fall to the ground, landing with a thud. And then, the light vanished, leaving them in darkness once again, with nothing but the sounds of shuffling feet and hungry moans. In a flurry of clawed fingers and sharp teeth, the lost children of the mine would attack, dying for their first meal. Environmental Condition: Darkness. All attacks made by Orion and Cheshire will be at a disadvantage unless a source of light is sustained each post. As Orion began to travel through the mud, he would find it a lot easier than first anticipated. Although still a pain to move through, it wasn't as restricting as it appeared to be. But what it lacked in viscosity, it made up with the putrid smell. The small amphibious kippers wiggled away when he got close, making cute plopping sounds when they dipped into nearby bodies of water. Then there was another, more larger creature, about the same size as a cat and with cute bulbous eyes. It purred slightly, staring at him with its gummy smile. And then a body dropped down. It stopped just before hitting the ground, directly in front of Orion was a semi-preserved corpse of a young man. His eyes were hollow and skin taught, and a translucent green slime clung to his body as if he had been neatly wrapped in it. Whatever was holding him up had given way, as vines and slime barely kept him connected to the canopy above. A spider crawled from out of its mouth, and back in through its eye socket. Attention was a funny thing, get distracted by something even for a second and the strangest things could happen around you without you noticing. In Orion's case, the falling corpse had done just that. Distracted him. If he were to pry his eyes from its hollow sockets, he'd see that all around him were silver strings of silk. Lining every tree all around him, like a masterful tapestry made in just a few seconds. Droplets of liquid dripped from them, landing on the mud or plants and causing it to sizzle and burn. Whatever liquid these silks were covered in was highly acidic, and sadly, Orion was in a cage of the stuff. Descending down on this same silk was a creature familiar yet different. Resembling that of a giant spider, it's head was more jaguar-like yet still possessed the many eyes of the arachnid. Preparing to pounce, it would go to drop straight down on Orion to crush his skull beneath the huge canines of the spider jaguar. Was something... Here? In it's territory, In it's womb? It stirred and shifted, millions of chitinous appendages rippling as it crawled up from its burrow. Hands reached out, covering its eyes from the ray of light that cut through the leaves. Yes, it felt it. It felt its weight on the soil, its breath in the air. It knew everything that happened in this marsh, beneath the shelter of the trees and above the moist soil. It would have fun with this one, oh yes. A perfect vessel, the prime offering to its god. To its mother. ~ The swarm still lingered, but it wasn't as bad as before. Giant mosquitoes digging their way through the skin on his arms and neck to suck his blood. He came up to a boggier part of the jungle, where anywhere he stepped he'd be waist high in mud. There were peculiar looking amphibians which swam on the surface of the mud, gliding across before stopping at a distance, staring at Orion and blinking at him a few times.

As the lightning slayer began his journey through the wilds, the jungle would seem to awaken with him. Each step, each swat of a fly, every time he pushed an oversized leaf out of the way, it all added up to something. Something that would reveal itself much later on. There would be no immediate signs of monsters or disturbing sights of people hanging from cocoons. But instead, a swarm of insects had started flying through the area. Completely weak on their own, but together, this swarm of mosquitoes would prove very bothersome to Orion. Buzzing around his face, trying to drink his blood from whatever body part they could land on.
