Eye Spy [mission, closed]

When Kasumi first read the invitation for this mission, she felt two ways about it. On one hand, it was the perfect job for someone of her skillset. On the other, it had to be done with someone who had rejected her confession just a short while ago. Not that she bore any ill will against Cheshire, the girl wasn't sure just how to behave around. Ultimately however the desire for jewel prevails so she decided to accept the invitation.

Dressed in her regular suit for the mission, the girl looked like she walked straight out of an action spy film. To an untrained eye she was lightly equipped but looks can be deceiving as she brought master lockpick, garotte wire, smoke grenade, lacryma powered flashlight as well as survival cord. And that's just something she could carry on her person as the rest of her stuff were in her small bag.

Noticing her senior near the truck Kasumi took a moment to brace herself. She didn't want this mission to be awkward...she did find the previous mission to be fun if not for the untimely confession. Once she had adequately prepare herself she would get to the passenger side of the truck and hope in.

"Thanks for waiting. Shall we?"she asked just as she closed the door shut on her passenger side.

Cheshire Copeland

"And let you hog all the fun? No way silly."came her reply as equally enthusiastic. The woman would study Cheshire's expression closely, noticing the sign one would associate with the lack of sleep. The girl would then direct her attention to the hand drawn map of the area. It was filled with general outlines of where they would operate, little notes on how many guards they were expecting and the general type of security in the area. It wasn't quite as detailed as she would have like but with someone like Cheshire on her side she was sure she could handle them.

"I'm alright, thanks."she replied upon hearing the question being posed towards her. Sure, the rejection still stung her quite a bit but she believed she had it handled quite well. Alcohol had been the faithful companion on her side, numbing the feeling she had over her disastrous attempt. There hasn't been much time between the this mission and the previous one...as much as she wanted to share her a tiny detail of what had just happened recently, nothing really comes to mind.

"What about you Chesh? Doesn't look like you catch any winks of sleep since we last met."Kasumi asked. Were she aware of this, she would not have mind driving and let Cheshire hit the snooze button at least until they get to their destination.

"A whole lot of things huh?"Kasumi echoed as she look at her with a troubled expression. The girl didn't probe further on the subject but instead leave it at that. She highly doubted Cheshire would be willing to freely share her concerns she had recently. At least not with a couple of bottles to loosen her up. The only way she can help her for now is to be supportive.

"They're not as adorable as yours but they're still good for listening if you want."Kasumi offered though she didn't expect Cheshire to accept them. The girl definitely looked like the type that keep her problem to herself...to which admittedly she was the same too in that regard.

When their surrounding got darker, Kasumi had to amplify her own magical energy around her eyes so that she would be able to see things better. While it won't be as good as the feline's...at the very least she won't bump or trip into everything. That the reason she brought a torchlight was only for emergency as well for when her eyes are inadequate enough to perceive things within the darkness.

Catching the insect repellent in her hand, Kasumi would give it a once-over before immediately spraying over herself. Granted, with how much skin her clothes were covering...the insect would probably have a better chance to try on animals. Handing it over to Cheshire once she was done, she take her position to look at the compound.

"So what's the plan Chesh? I've been briefed on the mission at hand but I want to know more about details. Rules of Engagement, Exfiltration routes, Time limit, Side Objectives...things like that."

"...I'm sure you'll do fine Chesh. You should have faith in yourself."

Kasumi didn't know what kind of changes she was referring to but it was clear that it had scared the catgirl out of her wits. She wished she could offer more than words however but soon the mission had arrive and beckoned their undivided attention. A single distraction could have meant loss of life.

Unbuckling her own seatbelt, Kasumi would give her toolbox one last check as she listened to Cheshire only to hear an outrageous proposal. A moment or two pass as she waited for Cheshire to admit that she was joking all along. As it did not come to pass, Kasumi began to exhale from her lips. If she had known this would be a raid instead of a covert op she would have switch her loadout with something that has a little more firepower next time. She half considered reasoning with Cheshire but one's brain tend to think less when not exposed to enough rest.

"Good grief....I supposed it can't be helped."

Kasumi would crack her knuckles slightly. As much as she preferred stealth and subtlety, admittedly the girl could not deny that there is joy to be found in letting loose. If Cheshire wanted to use this mission to do so then as a junior what can she do but support her?

"Let's crack some skulls then. Lead the way Chesh."

"Something else?"

Confusion emerged on her face as she cannot help but wonder what else that Cheshire had yet neglect to inform her about. It will then
morphed into one of concern upon the reveal and this time she would put her hand on top of Cheshire's, squeezing them lightly to reassure
her.

"Well...that's something we have in common at least. I've recently hit a wall too."Kasumi revealed as she looked out to the trees around them. While her initial growth was rapid, it had suddenly come to a crashing halt. So much so that she wondered if something was wrong with herself physically. Ultimately however, she decided to take as many mission as possible to try and get over it.

"The way I see it, it's like a writer's block. Or a slump. You'll find the muse to get over it eventually."she tried to console her. The purplehead certainly hope that was the case for herself. The guild already had their attention on her, eyes filled with expectations that she would accomplish more for their guild.

When Cheshire apologized for her decision to change this mission from a stealth recovery to her raid, the girl shook her head in response. She could tell she was already feeling bad about it and she didn't want the girl to beat up herself further else it may affect her morale before the mission officially start.

"It is fine. Sometimes, cutting loose can help. Though I would appreciate a heads-up next time."she dismissed her apology with a smile. And when the girl told her about the plan, Kasumi would give her a nod with a rare smile.

"Deal. But only if you're willing to go out to bar with me the next day."

With the promise to hit the bar solidified between them Kasumi would get off the car to follow Cheshire. One thing was immediately apparent. It was extremely difficult to see anything out here. At least while in the truck they could rely on the headlight of the vehicle. She could wave her hand in front of her face and bare made out her hand. At least Cheshire seems to know where she's going,those cat eyes must be a whole useful in the darkness. Hurray for cat eyes!

"Underground laboratory?"

From what she knew, laboratory tend to be a place of research and discovery. A place where knowledge were meant to be shared with each other. Just kind of experiment were they doing if they had to keep the place out of sight and knowledge from others? Kasumi gave a slight nod and reinforced both her eyes and her legs, to give herself better clarity and speed under this circumstances.

"Well, probably just need one for each but I'll keep in mind."Kasumi gave a small smirk when Cheshire suggested kicking their nuts multiple times. While definitely an effective manslayer technique...she wondered if Cheshire thought that was her favorite move or something. They would soon arrive at the place Cheshire indicated and sure enough there were guards. Armed ones, which unlike the bandits before meant that they're more than ready to spit red hot leads upon intruders regardless of their genders. She silently count them in her head.

"Six of them. Assault Rifles. I'll take the three on the left. You take the three on the right. Feel free to finish up the ones I haven't."

From what she could see, the guards seems to be struggling to not fall asleep as they kept watch over the area. Exhaustion was clear in their eyes, probably wishing that the shift would end soon so they could get bundled up in blanket and sleep the rest of the day away. Too bad that their wish was about to be granted in an entirely different way. He barely heard the footsteps approaching him stealthily from behind and turned around only to have a solid boot came rocketing up his crotch. With the force behind the kick, this man won't be passing on his future generation after tonight.

"One down~"

The guard fell in a heap under her clutching his crushed manhood and dreams to bed another. Without so much as sparing a glance to her victim, Kasumi would make her way towards another of the guard. This one was listening to some sort of music player, clearly too occupied to notice her approach. His negligence proved to be his fatality however, as he would suddenly found his leg swept under and smacked head first onto the floor. Completely taken by surprise, he flailed around uselessly like a fish on dry land against the submission leg he was pulled under. He tried to call the others attention but his mouth was clamped over, muffling any voice. Under her submission, she forced his leg beyond it's limit, not only breaking him but crippling him on the floor. As good measure, once she get up she would stomped the bandits right on his nuts.

There were three more guards left with two of them much closer to Cheshire than herself. One of them were even trying to light a smoke, perhaps hoping the cancer stick would keep him awake. As he was closer to Cheshire than herself, she elected to let that one be for now and make her way to the final victim.

Perhaps it was because she grew too confident...Kasumi didn't noticed the twig she stepped onto until it was too late. Unlike the earlier guards however, this one didn't even bother with safety. He would suddenly point the rifle to her angle and for a moment there was a pause as the two realized that they both could see each other. Then came the mad scramble as the guard leapt back and unleashed leadstorm on her. It was rather inaccurate but the least he could do was force her to take cover right?

Kasumi however, was quite versed in when it comes to firearm weaponry. Her hands would move at a lightning speed as she caught each and every bullet heading her way though her other hand was not unoccupied. It was vibrating at high speed that turned her hand into an effective spear which she used to thrust at the guard's chest before plucking it out of him, her hand now soaked in his blood.

"We're going loud!"
