"Fuck!" Orion cursed, his face contorting in pain as he was punched in the gullet. The man had been successfully dodging some of the attacks, but the last two had hurt more than most. He had tried his best to move out of the way, but he was a bit too slow.

The blindness was slowly ebbing away, but he was still just that. Blind.

"Let's see..." Orion took a deep breath, before unsheathing his katana and sending a lighting enhanced slash towards the last position he thought that the Shadow user was.

"Eclipse!"

Orion sighed, his face marred with pain as he tried his best to not aggravate his wounds. The fight had been an interesting one, and definitely gave him a run for his money. Truthfully, Cheshire had definitely improved. Her fighting style stayed the same, but her attacks hurt even more now, and her technique certainly has beenmade more effective.

"You almost got me, there!" Orion grinned, sitting down on the grass, finally regaining his eyesight. "That blindness thing was a good technique! I need to find a way to recreate it..." The god slayer would keep that in mind.

"Come, sit!" he invited the woman, the grass was very soft and the earth a welcome respite, "A fight like that deserves..." He trailed off, before smirking, "Storage!" Orion opened a small dimension, something like a Re:quip space, and pulled out a small crate full of wine. Gabbro-made wine.

"As promised."

"Holy shit!" Orion exclaimed as he heard the bone pop back into the socket. That was a gutsy move, something even the most seasoned mages would cry about at night. Orion, himself, probably would have cried if he had to do that by himself. Pain was not something he craved, especially self-inflicted ones. No, he'd rather see a healer and maybe some potions for numbing.

Orion took a bottle, and handed it over to the woman. Aged twenty-five years. "Gabbro's finest wine, twenty-five years old, as promised." Orion took one for himself, and started to drink it. The fight had been taxing on him, but he would manage. Wine always made things better. "Betcha you're wondering how I got it?" Everyone asked, he never answered. Maybe this time he will.

"You've improved though, that I can say the least," Cheshire had definitely improved in combat, but so did Orion. One day, she'll definitely catch up, and he'd be caught dead if he ever challenged her again to a spar.

"Take however much you want," Orion chuckled, taking another swig of his own bottle. He forgot how good this vintage was. It had been quite an adventure acquiring this case-full of the stuff. But it was worth it. Plus, it was not like the man had to pay for it. It was acquired...a little bit differently than his usual stash.

He took a moment, reminiscing how he got it, "You see, there was this mission I had to do. Infiltration." He chuckled once more, the thought of him in an infiltration mission was almost too funny for it to be real, "And this dude had a room full of this stuff! So, before I left, I replaced one case with a case of our very own Rhyolite vintage. Horrid stuff, but he wouldn't even find out!"

The moment the conversation turned to Cheshire's loss, he frowned. "You know, that's one way to look at it. But then again, even a loss can be a win..." Orion knew that, at the very least. Maybe Cheshire could figure it out as well.

Cheshire Copeland

"No, really!" Orion had to chuckle at the thought, "I was disguised as a waiter. It was horrible! Crashed a lot, destroyed some dishes...it was a mess..." It was not his proudest mission moment, but the wine they were drinking certainly made up for it. Besides, he had gone through it all and was successful at the end of the day.

"See? Told you it was fantastic! Aged just right too!" It would've been worth a fortune, but Orion would rather share it with friends. And Cheshire was one of those who he would call a friend. He didn't have much of those in the first place.

He paused, glancing side-ways at the woman, "If you lose, you learn. You don't give up. Get back up and learn from your mistakes. Run away if you have to. It's better for you to live another day than losing your life. Better a coward than a corpse. At least a coward can redeem himself." Orion had been a coward before, but he was better for it.

Cheshire Copeland

"Oh I know you would! Hell, anybody else in the whole world would have done a better job compared to me," Orion chuckled, taking another swig of his drink, "I'm built like a rock, you see. A rock!" Orion laughed at his own joke.

Orion turned towards the crate itself. It still had seven out of the nine bottles he had of it. "See, the problem is that I can't just grab it. This one was aged twenty-five years, there ain't nothing like that in liquor stores." It had been quite a pain to try and find good vintage wine across Alakitasia, the problem being that most brewers made-and-sold their stuff immediately. There was no waiting to age anymore when there's a quick buck to make.

Then, the conversation steered towards the fight. It was true, there was no guarantee that one will make it out alive in a fight. Sometimes, Orion himself had been put into situations where one misstep would cause his death. "At that point, you just persevere. I mean, you try your best to escape, to live another day. But when you know you're down and out, maybe that's it. Life just said that it's your time. In the end, we all try our best, right?" Life. Death. Everything was always a game of chance. Every waking moment.

Orion shook his head and laughed out loud, "Wait, wait, did you just compliment yourself, and called me ugly at the same time?!" Orion was definitely not the prettiest guy on the block, and he knew that. But, he still liked to think he had some look about him! Maybe of danger...and power...and mystery...Only in his dreams though, apparently.

He nodded, "Yeah, we can make it work. There had been some places I wanted to hunt myself, places where apparently, booze was made en masse before the Calamity!" Orion grinned, his face becoming dreamy at the thought of aged-old booze. "Imagine....aged booze..."

"Nobody should ever think about dying, or should I say, anybody in their prime should never think about dying," Orion knew that the thought of death only hindered the mage, it was never good to think about negative stuff while on a mission. "However, you should never be afraid of defeat. Defeat only means you have a new goal of becoming stronger. Don't you think?"
