From the outside, the palace still looked as ostentatious as ever. However, the inside would have resembled more of a child’s playground fever dream. Asgard was decked out in party paraphernalia. Mercy would have wanted nothing less. Colourful streamers dangled from the ceiling. Balloons were given to every visitor. Colour-coded plastic bowls were laid across the tables, each brimming with party food.
Mercy herself wore a party hat. She was adamant that everyone wore one. As the youngest member of Odin’s Spear, she prided herself on her ability to keep things lighthearted and child-friendly. Just ignore the bottles of hard liquor and other illicit substances scattered between the party pies and sausage rolls.
The birthday girl herself was lounged on a plush couch underneath an ostentatiously colourful banner with the words ‘BIRTHDAY BITCH’ emblazoned in golden letters.

When it comes to social gathering, Kasumi was not the type to be overly enthusiastic about it. While she would definitely come if she's invited, she often find herself in the corner just observing the people that come to the party and their antics. The most difficult part for her when it comes to this party was deciding a present. Not only was she new to the guild, she hardly even knew her.
After much deliberation, she finally settled on a tote bag as a gift. For her, it looks pretty chic...at least that's what she think. Maybe she would get the person a better present next year when she know her better. Taking the purple party hat and putting it on top of her head she would look around for the girl in question. It didn't take long, she's probably the earliest member of the guild that come to the party as she can see no other familiar faces near her. At first, she consider walking back out and wait for the party to be filled with more people but changed her mind. Since she was already here she may as well introduce herself.
"Happy Birthday Miss Godfrey. My name is Kasumi Ito and I'm new to this guild. This isn't much but I hope you'll like it."the girl said as she handed over her present. She didn't make an effort to conceal the gift, just the bare necessities to place it in a gift wrap paper with no intent whatsover to hide the shape of it's content. |

Vodka in one hand, a tube of chocolate in the other: Ivory was in the kitchen, creating the masterpiece that was a giant chocolate cake shaped into Mercy's favorite dog, Freki. Although.. it was her first attempt at baking.. anything. Which explained the absurd and lopsided features of the dog's face, but perhaps the other half of the blame lie on the early drinking she'd partook in in celebration of Mercy's seventeenth birthday.
"AJ! I think it's READY NOW!" She spun around suddenly, alcohol sloshing and chocolate flinging, and stumbled into the Godfather. "Let's present it to the Princess!"

Mercy played with a stray balloon, pinching and squeezing the rubbery latex in an attempt to try to test its limits before it burst. She only stopped playing with the balloon when a voice addressed her nearby.
"Miss Godfrey?" She echoed in confusion, briefly looking around to see if Anniken was around. Then she realised that it her Mercy herself being addressed. "Oh hey, Kasumi!" Swift to compose herself again, she flashed an easy smile at the newbie. "Welcome to the best guild in the world!" Then, without warning, the teenager would throw her arms around the purple haired mage, as though greeting a long lost friend for the first time.
Squeezing the mage tightly, Mercy withdrew to take the tote bag without an ounce of modesty. "Sweet stuff!" She remarked, inspecting the bag and mentally sizing up how many fancy daggers she could possibly fit in it.
Her present soon became swiftly forgotten as the mouth-watering smell of pizza filled the room. Again, Mercy looked around before she pinpointed the source of the smell. "Chesh!" She cried out, running past Kasumi to hug the cat-eared woman. "You came!" Then, as though suddenly struck but self-consciousness, the teenager drew back and coughed.
"Your hat is lopsided." Mercy smirked, completely empathising with the difficulty in getting a party hat to sit right on one's head when one sported canine – or feline – ears. Said ears flicked and turned at the sound of her favourite sister's voice. Then her head followed suit, only for her lower jaw to drop open at the sight of Anniken and Ivory parading out with a very… interesting looking cake.

"Thank you for the welcome Mercy Godfrey." Kasumi replied, having recently reminded that there may actually be more than one Godfrey family in the house.
The sudden hug was unexpected, causing Kasumi to tense slightly before shortly returning the embrace albeit in a clumsy manner. She was definitely more of a shaker than a hugger. Exhaling in relief she handed the gift...or rather it was plucked away from her hand without any reservation. Raising her eyebrow slightly, she gave a small nod when Mercy immediately inspect her gift. Her heart swelled upon the approval especially since she know absolutely nothing about the birthday girl safe for being in the same guild.
Another person came into the party prompting Mercy to greet her next. Shrugging, Kasumi would now help herself to look where the empty plate and cups are so she can just get directly to it when the party started. It wasn't until more people came into the room that she directed her attention towards the lopsided dog cake.
"What a delicious looking... cake."
No, not even the connoisseur of mystery herself could hazard what's the shape the cake supposed to be in first place, even if she put her brain on overclock.

"Yaaaaas! DAME IN WAITING, HERE WE COMETH! "
Together, the drunken mages sauntered proudly out of the kitchen, their masterpiece floating on a platter of gold. When Mercy showed up and her jaw dropped, Ivory burst out with laughter. Her amusement was too strong, too, because she almost fell right out of Justice's interlocked arm. "Saaaay hello to FREKI, the DELICIOUS DOGE, as Kasumi saaaid~" Happily, the take-over mage turned to "cheers" her bottle against the Godfather's, before throwing back even more of the liquid.
It was then that her peripheral caught sight of C, and she'd practically howl, nearly throwing her entire drink from her hand, "C-C! DRINK WITH US. GET MERCY SOME TOO, IT'S TIME SHE LEVELED UP AS THE BIRTHDAY BITCCCH!"

Before it could land on the cake, the droplets were magically plucked from the air and directed all the way over to Cheshire’s and Kasumi’s shirts. Feigning ignorance, she brought the bottle to her lips once again and guzzled down a portion of liquor that could only be stomached by her supernatural constitution. Chocolate cakes, candy, and most importantly, eye candy. The perfect recipe for a party.
The best part about this cake? It was huge. Though it might have been lopsided, and covered with a questionably massive amount if icing, it did Freki the dog justice with its sheer volume.
”Whaddya mean, just delicious—? It’s a beauty, that’s what it is. Fucking BEAUTIFUL, PAL! I want every made man, woman, and birthday girl in here to grab their glasses, have a drink, and have a nice, long good look at it before we have any, capisce?” Her normally concealed accent spilling all over the place, Justice started. ”And you know what? It takes a real fuckin’ O.G to make a cake like this! All you’s here are gonna gobble up all the blood, sweat, and tears that went into makin’ this here product!”

"I deserve it."[break][break] "I'll uh.. have some, for the occasion. What about you, Kasumi?" She asked, uncorking a bottle and pouring the contents into a few glasses. There's plenty of other non-alcoholic choices, mostly to mix and blend with the alcohols that they do have, but they wouldn't judge if a member intends on keeping their sobriety. Though, she did hand a half-filled glass of champagne to the birthday girl.[break][break] Sneakily, the feline called upon her powers to deliver a rather wide-looking parcel, propping it in a corner of the room along with some of the unopened gifts. It wasn't until Ivory illuminated the room on what her creation supposedly was did Mercy let out a drawn-out, "ohhhhhh!" Frowning, the now-17 year old narrowed her eyes at the peculiar chocolate. She supposed if she squinted real hard, it did slightly resemble her favourite pet dog Freki.
At the same time, Mercy readily accepted the half-filled glass of champagne from Cheshire. At Ivory's howl and Anniken's encouragement to indulge in the alcohol, she took a generous gulp and almost immediately choked from the bitter burn that cascaded down her throat. Instead, she entered a coughing fit that made her lungs burn and her eyes water. Still, it did little to quell her enthusiasm.
Holding the glass in one hand she pranced over to inspect the cake in all its glory, by some miracle (or perhaps her sister's doing), avoiding any stray droplets of splashed booze. Disagreeing with Anniken was the last thing Mercy wanted to do, so she brazenly poked out a finger, swept it across the Freki-cake's eyeball and devoured the blue and white icing.
"Sweet stuff!" She deemed, eyes glittered with unexpected joy. Indeed it was so, with such a generous amount of sugar that would have made any diabetic faint. Having passed her judgement, Mercy proceeded to reach out and pull at Kasumi's sleeve.
"Did you bring the candles?" She blurted out, not quite remembering who was in charge of what for this party and making a wild guess. "'Think it's time for my birthday wishes!" And with that declaration, she took another swing of the champagne that burned her gullet up to her nostrils.

Oh so it was a dog. The quizzical look she had on her face give way to one of recognition as she can now spot the canine features of the thing. Probably would have guess it sooner had she known Mercy's pet. Oh well, time to take a glass for the alcohol...
-and her shirt's wet. Wonderful. Giving perfect view of her choice of upper lingerie to whoever cast their eyes upon her. A pink tinge filled her cheek as she certainly didn't expect this and it didn't look like she was the only one. Even Cheshire got splashed but unlike her, she merely shrugged in response. Decided to roll along with it as well, she gave a small smile before offering her own glass towards Cheshire.
"Capische. And aye, pour some for me Senior."Kasumi replied. If she was not mistaken they named her Chesh...which she would refrain from using just yet. There may be unwritten rules on how to address someone based on how long they served in the organization which she would have to familiarize with just yet. Yes, senior seems to be a good neutral way to address someone. No opposition to eat the chocolate cake...until Mercy asked about the candles. Wait, wasn't the candles...she glanced at the cake in question then back at the others.
"Oh yes...sure...just..."
Putting down the glass and digging into her pockets, she took out what appears to be candles but of the edible sorts. She was actually saving them for herself but not wanting to spoil the party mood, she placed the edible candles onto the dog cake alongside the regular ones.
"You can eat these too." she added perhaps rather unnecessarily as one can already tell from it's looks.

Ivory's gaze managed to focus on one thing: the droplets from she and Justice's clanking bottles - they'd unnaturally flow toward Cheshire and Kasumi, splatting upon their bosoms. Wet tiddys! She was too busy snorting at that to really hear most of what Justice was blasting next to her, but she was feeling good so maybe her subconscious heard some of it.
Had Cheshire not fulfilll'd her request to provide Mercy with alcohol, Ivory may of remained distracted by the wet top of Kasumi and the blush that had temporarily skittered across the poor girl's cheeks. Fortunately for them, Mercy's choking quickly grabbed her squirrel-level attention and Ivory would let out another cheer before downing more of her clear beverage.
"Yess! Candles! SUMMON..!" And as if she were actually magic -- oh wait, she was -- Kasumi's hand appeared with them and they'd be placed along Freki-cake's backside. She herself would of plopped them into it's eyes, but, she guessed Mercy's taste testing of one of the eyes was satisfying enough.
Now that that was sorted! She glanced to her drunken companion, "Justice! Start the Birthday Bitches' rap song!"

And then there was an explosion.
Well, not so much an explosion, but a burst of flame that spiraled around a figure partially obscured by its fervid brilliance. After wondering what in the seven Hells that just was, lending an eye to the phenomenon revealed something ... not human. A threat? It was hard to tell, but a creature was standing behind the whirling lengths of fire. It was not long before they died down and revealed ... a fox?
It looked a little lavish for a commonplace fox one could chance upon in the wild. The fur was bushy, wondrous, vivid and beautiful. There was clear intellect in his eyes despite them being closed as he took in a might breath of the guild hall's air. His nose pointed skyward, chest inflated and after a moment of holding it in there, he let the breath out with a satisfied smile. His eyes opened gradually and he placed himself into a proper posture. He sat there, front legs posed in front of him. It was as much of a straight-backed posture a creature like him could don.
Being within the vicinity of the guild master herself, he was able to place knowing, sly eyes upon her. "I think ..." he said in a pleasant, light tone, "that it's been quite a while since I've smelled a Godfrey." While he said this, his gaze skipped onto another select individual.

Tilting her chin up with a newfound air of sobriety, her mannerisms were glazed in a thick coating of amusement. Now, that wasn’t a thing she expected. Mostly because her Eye was not active until now.

Raising her fist to signal for a pre-emptive cease-fire, the gesture told her guild to not attack the spirit. Had Odin’s Eye been incapable of viewing the past, she might have issued a contradictory order. However, she was able to glean that indeed, Blaze Booster spoke the truth. An ally of the Godfrey family since its beginnings back in Fiore, the leader of the now extinct Blue Pegasus had graced their halls out of nowhere.
”Great-great-great, a certain amount of greats or somethin’ grandma, one of’em who are out on that little task right now, happens to be a close friend and ally of the celestial spirit you see here before you—though I gotta say, I can’t see nothin’ ‘bout you being one ‘till recently.
