There was a time when Quinn was innocent. When all he knew was playing with the children of Gabbro City. When his parents were his world, and him theirs. [break][break]
Quinn grew up to the Stormgarde family, a generational mage family that specialized in Take-Over magic. The Stormgardes were always fierce, and fiercely loyal to their own. Their magic was known throughout, and its secrets kept within the family line. Take-Over: Olympian, they called it. It was a prized magic, a family magic.[break][break]
Gabbro was their city, and within it, the Stormgarde family thrived. It never was a huge family, mostly being a father-to-son line. Apparently, the secret stayed safe that way. A large family made it easier for others to be able to get information, and that was unacceptable. So, the family stayed small throughout the generations.[break][break]
Quinn's parents worked as mages, with his father teaching him Take-Over magic at a young age. The young boy was not one to take his studies seriously, and instead opted to play with his friends. That didn't sit well with the Stormgarde patriarch, but the man had a soft spot for his son. He never truly pushed Quinn. That would prove to be a mistake.[break][break]
At twenty-one, Quinn was an average mage. He had one deity he could take-over, when at his age, his father had already five take-over deities available to him. Quinn faltered, always distracted, and never engaging in the family magic. His father and mother had hoped he would change, but he never did. Until their dying breath, all they wanted was for Quinn to finally inherit the Stormgarde legacy. Instead, Quinn had been busy with his friends, not knowing his loss.[break][break]
Three weeks. That was how long Quinn had isolated himself. The deaths of his parents did not sit well with the young man, and he felt lost. He felt shame. And most of all, he felt guilt. IF only he was strong enough. If only he had taken his magic seriously. If only he had gone with his parents, instead of lounging around with his friends. If only...[break][break]
Two years. That was how long Quinn had trained to master his Take-Over magic. He might have had one deity, but he couldn't even fully control the power. Two years. And now, he was finally ready. He had joined Nemean Claw, in honour of his parents who had been mages of the guild. He was ready now. He was ready to reintroduce the Stormgarde magic to the world. He was ready to finally take his legacy by the horns. [break][break]
But first, he needed to commune with all the deities of the Olympian Take-Over. it was what his father wanted, after all. Apollo was only the beginning.
