Being stuck in a mortal vessel, she was prone to almost everything the world had to throw at her. If she's lucky, she'd make it to seventy or even eighty without perishing from the perils of her job, but after that? It was all the same, be it sickness or old age, she'd wilt into nothingness.[break][break] Pressing her forehead against the woman, she'd close her eyes as well for a moment of peace. It'd been a while since she last shared any alone time with the guild master, and part of it was due to her own insecurities, but.. never again. Nothing would ever get in the way of her and her favorite person in the world. "I want us to make the most out of this. the time that we have- I want it to be so deeply embedded in your mind that you'll never be able to forget me, even after a thousand years. Sure, she'd been put to the test before in many situations, but to endure a process designed to remedy the way her powers plateaued, she had to resist pulling back from their embrace just to bite her nails. As much as she wanted to rally behind the idea of making the most out of the time they had, it was hard for the Godfather to have that level of acceptance and wisdom at the ripe age of twenty-five. To sear Cheshire into her memory enough to last two-thousand years and beyond, she imagined it would be nice to remember her fondly as her love. She imagined it would also be a constant reminder and source of pain; thousands of years of it.
Through their close contact, it was easy to see the solemn look in her eyes. However, she seemed to be not as impacted as she would have been had she not possessed a precognitive ability to see future ahead.
”I think it would ruin the surprise for one, and two, I feel like if I tell you here and now, it will change the event in the future destined to happen. If that event doesn’t happen, then I don’t think you’ll be able to break through the barricade when it comes to your power. And yeah, means I can’t give any hints, either.”

Through most of her life up until a short while back, Cheshire's been sheltered from the rest of the world, living in the peaceful little bubble that was Rhyolite village. Her knowledge of everything was gained out of experience when AJ put her through the ringer, going from mission to mission in one city to the next, until she finally found her place. Still, the knowledge she had paled in comparison to the Godfather's, as well as her appointed second-in-command.[break][break] It also sucked that her powers have plateaued, leaving her with a much wider skill gap between all of them. Heck, even some of her juniors had begun to catch up, and it clawed at her soul. Cheshire trusted her lover, and knew that no matter what, the guild master had their best intentions in mind for her. So, what that means is whatever's coming her way, she'd have to deal with it.[break][break] But that wouldn't begin today - not that she knew of at least. Even though she was shown the vision of AJ in her new form, which meant that the mission went without a hitch, there's no stopping her worries. There was a lot of things to think about, and she was telling the truth. The palette of visions she spectated tended to be changeable, and it allowed her to privy to the happenings should she tell people about the predictions. Should it be relevant to them, maybe it would change the possibility. Time was a relative, unorthodox concept. Some people even claimed that time all happened at once, and the measurement of it was just a lack of human comprehension. And maybe her Eye lent credit to that. How everything seemed to be connected regardless of how distant it was ahead or behind. What was behind might be staring at the now just as she was.
Trippy. Perhaps the Eye was already making her borderline high.
Justice felt strange. It was almost creepy in a way. She imagined that if there was a way to explain omnipotence, then this must have been how Odin felt. If she wanted to, she could open that bloodline technique up and be in umpteen settings at once. If all of those selves were capable of that, then when was now?
”…Uh,” Justice said, snapping out of the daydream she snared herself in. Cheshire asked her about her plans tonight, and she felt inclined to answer before she took another trip into Odin knows what. ”No, I’m free. What about you, Chesh? Do you wanna get out of this gym?”

Justice had a feeling that, with how zoned out she was for a few moments, she might have been caught in the middle of her daydream. Maybe she was just being self-conscious about it, but thankfully she had a lover who refrained from commenting. In fact, their powers seemed similar in regards for hearing from insidious visions or voices in the least opportune of moments.
Smirking, she thought a little more into Cheshire’s words in retrospect. If she met her years into the past, the feline might have been able to catch her when exposure to the prophecies had yet to jade her to horrendous sights. Waking up crying in the middle of the night—she wondered if that happened to her, too.
…Wine, chocolate, and ice cream sounded good right about now.
”Yeah, that sounds good to me. I think I can think of creative ways to eat some of those things you mentioned,” she said, her smirk enduring throughout her subtle suggestion. It had been a couple weeks, might as well get experimentative. If allowed, she would push herself up and help the feline up.

”Think you deserved to know. I’m not used to being an open book, but I’ve wanted to start telling you more. I wanted to be transparent with you, because we’re a couple, you know?” Justice started in response.
Out of the twins, Justice always sported the sleepier expression. A light droop to her eyes, an air of indifference when she did not feel invested. Her smile reflected that—but it was authentic. On the lazier side of the spectrum, it ghosted her lips while she fixed golden, soft gaze on the Shadowcat before her.
Elevating her hand, she rested it atop her head once again. While she did it before, she never tired of petting her fuzzy ears. Running her fingers against them, she meted out her affection. Rather than being evasive, she nodded in response to the woman’s words.
”Yeah. I know it won’t go awry, but that’s in the case of us two going. Adding in another person might disrupt that prophecy, or change it in some way.”

Cheshire's always hated being left out of the loop. Perhaps it originated from when her parents started casually spending the money she gave them on unnecessary things, and the only way she'd ever find out was if she uncovered the truth herself. Sadly, she just had a lot of trust issues, and maybe it's about damn time she learned to fix it - or at least, handle it better. Which explained why she felt the need to thank AJ.[break][break] One would expect this to annoy her - AJ picking Ivory as her first choice, and honestly, it kind of did. But it made sense. With her powers being the way they were at the time, as well as her emotional and mental state not being at its best, she'd question the Godfather's decision if she were the one prioritized instead. Tagging along as a third wheel - she'd only slow them down. Her condition - it took time to recover from. As previously mentioned, maybe the first step was to accept things as they were going to become.[break][break] "Good. I'm glad you did. And I'm glad it's her. If there's ever another person in the world that I'd trust to bring you back safely, it'd be Ivy."[break][break] Though the voices in her head had less than ideal things to say about her willingness to play second fiddle, Cheshire knew it was all due to her waning control of the shadow realm. Another added factor as to why she was unfit for this, another reason she felt bad about being the weak link. It put Justice at ease when she heard about Cheshire’s reception to her bringing Ivory for the endeavour. With the wave of relief came an exhalation, her muscles slumping as though she expelled the tension from her body. It assuaged the doubts in her mind that she had an ally with the decision, and verified she would be able to undergo the transformation without risking another participants’ humanity.
She thought that if they were able to sort out the defect with her heart, and diffuse the odd feelings wasting through the air routinely, she would be able to get back on track with her duty for the world; cleansing it of the evil taint and letting the people rebuild under a unified banner. Anniken shared the sentiment, and she enjoyed the thought of getting back on track in the future. From the looks of things, it seemed possible.
Lips aligning into a smirk, she nodded in response. Taking a look around the environment, she ascertained that maybe this wouldn’t be a bad place to kick that off.
”Well, I’ve never done it in here before. Let’s break it in.”
