And just for the hell of it, she popped a piece of mint candy in her mouth too, just in case the smell did get a bit too overwhelming for her liking.[break][break] Just as his concerns rang true, the smaller goblins fell like dead flies, succumbing to the effects of the deadly poison. The big chief ate a good chunk of the blast. Unlike the rest of his tribe though, he seemed to shrug it off like it barely had any effect on him, but she knew it wasn't the case. "Keep at it! And.. do whatever it takes if you need to replenish your energy, I'd much rather live with that horrible image in my head than not live at all!"[break][break] Sure, she could've joined in and started blasting the creature with her own powers, but she had to think of a time and place to make sure she maximized its usefulness. Besides, with the nature of her magic, she wasn't much of a fighter anyway, and thus, often had to resort to strategizing and formulating plans in lieu of pure firepower.[break][break] The goblin chieftain was pissed. One second, he was having an insightful conversation with one of his followers about the secrets of the universe, the meaning of life, and suddenly they were attacked by two savages! And nasty-looking humans too, eugh, who would ever love pitiful creatures like that? They weren't even strong and buff like him, with great fangs and a chiseled jawline! [break][break] "RAAAAGH! You pay!" With his signature boney club in hand, he slammed the ground in front of him. A shockwave erupted from below them, causing an earth fissure to split the dirt beneath their feet, and should they not dash away in time, who knows what awaited them in the depths below?[break][break] Naturally, the blood mage was able to sense such a predicament and dove off to a side, though she made sure to keep herself within a close distance near the dragon slayer, just on the off chance that he'd slip. Come to think about it, would she even be able to pull him up if that's the case? Well, hopefully they wouldn't have to take that theory out ona test run anytime soon. That's not to say she was underestimating what they were capable of, it's just to be certain that whatever was within the area stayed away while they took out the goblins.[break][break] Ah well, as it was, they had to play with the hands they were dealt. By no means would she consider herself to be a powerful magician - far from that actually. She might be cocky, arrogant and sometimes even a downright cold-hearted bitch, but she knew her worth. Heck, she's only gotten into this whole thing because of her cousin, otherwise she'd simply still be busking around the city, barely making any money.[break][break] Following the directions of the half-feline, she was more appalled by the long walk than the actual objective of their mission. Though she hadn't actually killed anything in her lifetime, putting away a few goblins seemed like the prime way to start. It was necessary after all, and no matter how long her parents shielded her from it, such a fate was inevitable for a magician to learn.[break][break] The stench got worse and worse the closer they were, and the smell of pine was nonexistent with how rotten the rest of the area's gotten with the presence of those malicious creatures. It'd be bad if they rushed head-on into the battlefield without a proper plan of execution, so for the time being, she figured she'd keep them at a fair distance away from the prowling monsters, who were seen to be wielding weapons of different varieties that ranged from small clubs to axes and swords.[break][break] "There is.. an absurd amount of rot around here." She pinched her nose and fanned the air around her, obviously far more bothered by this than her partner, whom she knew to be a dragon slayer specializing in the art of dead stuff. As gruesome as her own magic can be, she shuddered at the thought of munching down on decomposing things. Ever since she signed up for her new career opportunity, November barely had any time in her schedule to come back and just.. chill, no pun intended.[break][break] A mission like this allowed her to kill two birds with one stone, what with the experience and monetary gain along with the benefits of coming back here and seeing the people she knew and loved. There weren't a lot of them, but at least she felt less homesick.[break][break] Having spent the entirety of her life here, it's almost impossible for the girl to not know her way around the streets. The idea of wandering around the outside though, that's a treacherous task that her parents would've never signed off on. Thankfully, they didn't have to know what she's up to all the time - and besides, this was an official mission, so while she knew very little of the world outside the giant wall, she figured she'd at least help the kid out.[break][break] Dressed in a white trenchcoat that dropped down to her thighs, she also had a pair of proper snow-trudging boots that were also identical in color to the rest of her attire. The only thing that wasn't was her red scarf, which most would probably view as a stark contrast, though their opinions would likely change upon seeing her magic.[break][break] "I don't suppose you know where we ought to start with this." There would be no greeting from the girl, not even a simple "hi". Even from afar, she could already be seen fishing out a copy of the mission notes of her own. It wasn't entirely posh, heck, it almost sounded like she was forcing it in certain parts of her speech, though it also flowed naturally with how she presented herself. The hem of her all-white dress ended just above her knees, and the tiny jacket overlapping most of her bare back added a tinge of red that was evidently present on the inside of her collar. She completed her look with a pair of white combat boots that elevated her height ever-so-slightly. As for her physique, well, what you see is what you get.[break][break] She was sweating a lot though, often using her handkerchief to wipe off the salty beads that had formed on her forehead. Coming from Gabbro City, which was basically a twenty-four-seven winter town, it'd take a while before she'll get used to the weather here.
