Not another sacrifice [mission/event/closed]

Hilbert winked at the blow to his head and rubbed the spot that was assaulted. ”Ow. Why do you have to be so mean, big sis?” The boy looked and sounded hurt by the older mage’s actions, but it wouldn’t take a master of deception to see how fake it was. In fact, it was painfully obvious from hearing his voice and expression. It’s as if he didn’t care about being found out. ”Looks like your the only one I can count on, big sis.” He leaned over to Mercy with the same tone of hurt that he was faking.
The druid would simply play with his spear for the duration of the trip. He twirled it around in his hands and tossed it around to keep himself entertained. However, he made sure to stay a good distance away from the girls, so the sharp end doesn’t hit them. After arriving in Samuelsonite, he noticed the sudden changes decided to point them out. ”Think that might be a good place to look?” He pointed to the new buildings in the town.
When the woman appeared, a wide smile was placed on his face. ”I vote yes!”

”Probably not, but we won’t know until we check the place out.” Hilbert replied to his much older partner in a casual tone that matched how he presented himself. One hand in his pocket and the other holding his spear over his shoulder. The different between the two mages, in how they presented themselves was clearly different to anyone that wasn’t blind or stupid. He didn’t see the point in getting dressed up like this lady did. Her clothes might get ruined in a potential fight and they look really expensive. Probably will cost a lot to clean.
”Hm. Well how about that.” Hilbert mused we he took note in the light in the apartment. It was on the floor their target was suppose to be in. So either he was still here or someone else was in it. Maybe he forgot to turn the light off? ”Show time.” Hilbert pulled up in front and made his way up to the apartment. ”Gods, I hope we don’t have to turn this place upside down, to find him. That’ll be a drag.”

Even though Hilbert got his revenge, he could still feel the sting of betrayal that was left by Kitty Jinn. It was still strong enough to make him want to cry. But he wouldn’t do that because it would make him look like a chump in front of his superior and friend. Ok they weren’t that close, but it is gonna happen! Really!
He should probably be focusing on the fight if the explosion on his foot was anything to go by. The attack caused the druid to be knocked back onto his back, as more energy was taken from him. ”Screw it. I quit.” He sat on his ass and pulled his spear next to him. ”Your obviously getting energy back faster than I can hit you. It’s clear who will win.” Hilbert was head strong and hot blooded most of the time, but he wasn’t an idiot.
It was pointless to keep fighting.

”I’m bored, already.” The Godfrey child would hear the young boy she was partnering with, for this task, whine aloud from behind her. Hearing the kid complain about his boredom was nothing new for anyone that takes half a day to know the brat. Everyone in the guild knows that the kid was both annoying and a pain to deal with. This was due to how quickly he got bored and had habit of annoying everyone about it. He should be glad they didn’t kick him out for it.
Recently, he has been trying to get into more dangerous missions than he usually would. This is thanks to people in town trying to give him tedious task that anyone can do. They were just being lazy about it. Not wanting to waste his time with them anymore, he told them to stuff it. Unsurprisingly, doing this gave him more free time than he would have liked.
”I hope someone kidnapped this guy. We can get some action if he was kidnapped.” Hilbert said to the girls with more casualness than one should have when talking about something so morbid. Given the nature of this job, he was hoping that it would provide him with some sort of entertainment. |

Hilbert watched as the creature winded up it’s oversized hand for an attack. Not this time. He was prepared for it and jumped out of the way before it’s hand can connect with him. It would have easily hurt, judging from how much it’s other attacks felt like. None were fun experiences. ”Hey, big sis! A little more help would be great, ya know?!” he shouted out to her as a desperate pled. The spear he carried with him was a few feet away and the creature was not going to wait for him to collect it. So he fired another blast of magic at its face.

Even with the limited lighting and visability, he can tell that his spell made a direct hit on his target. The shouts from the monster, that followed afterwards, still helped to sell this point. Doing damage to the monster gave him a surge of confidence, but knew that the fight was just beginning.
Hilbert took a step from his position to gain some distance from the approaching monster. ”Well that thing is gross.” His casual remark was out of place in this horrible situation. ”Oh shit.” The quiet curse came as soon as the beast slammed right into him.
The Druid has no time to dodge and was sent sprawling across the ground. Getting back on his feet, he fired another natural bolt at the monster.

Hilbert felt a sense of satisfaction as he felt his weapon strike his target. This same feeling turned into one of shock mixed with confusion as his opponent was now nowhere to be seen. He seemingly vanished in a cloud of smoke. Or that is what he thought.
In reality, the Godfrey boy actually reverted into his cat form and landed right on his foot. An occurance that was completely unexpected by him. But not an unwelcomed one, judging by the growing smile on Hilbert’s face. A smile only a child can match.
”Kitty!” The druid cheered, despite having seen this before and knowing that it is Jinn. Seems like he forgets this everything it happens. That or he really likes cats. At least it provided a window for Jinn to land his hit on the boy’s foot.
”AHH! Kitty! You betrayed my feeling!” Shouting out in pain, he attempted to fire a natural bolt at cat Jinn.

Oi!” Hilbert tried to step back, to avoid the attack, but was far too slow and couldn’t react in time. His head met the end of Jinn’s sheath, rather intimately, and stumbled back in pain. The druid groaned in pain and gave Jinn a pout.
”You didn’t say we were starting! I wasn’t ready.” He rubbed the spot that was hit and complained, like a small child would. It would seem that there was no helping it. Hilbert just had to meet Jinn head on.
Hilbert held out his spear, with a twirl, and dashed back into action. He thrusted his weapon out in an attempt to scratch his opponent with the sharp edge of the weapon.

Hilbert’s gaze traveled all over in a poor attempt of tracking whatever it was that attacked caravan. There was a moment he thought it was within his sights, but that quickly changed. It’s roars came from every direction he can think of. This made it impossible for him to get a good feel for where their attacker was, for the moment. It also made it clear that they are dealing with an extraordinary predator. The only reason he truly saw it was because it allowed them too.
The young teenager quickly turned to the sounds of destructions and held out his spear, in front of him. As if it was gonna help him with this thing. Which is why he fired his signature nature bolt at it.

”Yo.” Jinn would hear the casual voice of his opponent from behind him. How the boy managed to sneak up on them isn’t clear, but could be due to the fact that he was focused on the crowd, for a moment. ”It just so happens that I’m the one your looking for.”
Hilbert circled around the young Godfrey, twirling the spear that was in his hand. ”Hope you don’t mind them inexperienced. This is my first time doing this with someone in the guild. Please be gentle.” A playful smile found its way onto the fae’s face.

Looking for work [Social]

Hilbert was actually pretty excited to become apart of a guild. Adventures, friends, mysteries, fighting strong monsters, and having a good time overall. That’s mainly why he joined one to begin with. His mom also wouldn’t want him to rot away in their home forest, for the rest of his life. She even went out of her way to write it down on her last letter to him. Seriously, do moms have telepathy or something? Gonna have to ask one later.
”Jerks!” His shout met the backs of two mages, who simply ignored him and went on their way. Hilbert wasn’t doing a good job of having a good time, so far. The young teen wanted to find a job for himself, but kept getting shot down or having his requests rejected. Stuff about being too green or the missions being too dangerous. What did they know, huh?!
So, this is why he was sitting in front of the job board, looking very mad. Although, he didn’t do a good job of this either as he was just pouting. |

”What?” The young magic caster looked visibly confused at the sight of the woman, holding the body of her husband. Strangely, that was all he felt. A sense of confusion at the scene. No fear or growing sense of dread for the woman. What happened to them anyways? Did a monster attack or some bandit being a typical bandit? Hilbert couldn’t tell, but whatever it was did a number of them.
It was when the woman was taken that his confusion turned into shock, but only for a moment. ”You people are too loud.” Complaining about their fear of the situation, he made sure to grab his spear and joined the guild master from behind. ”At least I’m not bored anymore.” A smirk found its way on his face, after the morbid comment. |

The older man wasn’t the only person to be attracted to the song. Surrounding the clearing were a few forest animals like deer, squirrels, rabbits, birds, and other such animals. There were even some fairies flying around the large tree in the center, where Hilbert stood in front of. All of them were attracted to his song. The song from a fae that can be mistaken for a queen. A song that was in her memory.
”Hm?” The boy turned around, seeing a man standing before him. Weird, he didn’t remember anyone that lived around this forest. Did he happen to wander into here?
”Thanks. Momma was the one who showed it too me. Suppose to be the song of the forest and would put spirits at ease.” Hilbert patted his mother’s tombstone, explaining the origins of the leaf’s song to the stranger. ”Don’t worry about it. It’s life, after all.” It wouldn’t be easy to tell what the boy was feeling by the vibes he gave. Sure he was smiling, but was he really not worried or hurting?
”So! Do you normally take enthusiastic walks through the forest? Or is this dumb luck? Us meeting here?” |
