"A solution?" Sovereign read out loud, holding a small piece of paper in his hand with the written details down for this current errand. It was certainly interesting for a temple from years ago to be suddenly unearthed, and the fact it still possessed some kind of magical property that was affecting the environment around it was extremely impressive. And dangerous.
Magic from old was always dangerous, it was that kind of magic that formed the weapon of mass destruction 'Etherion'. Although he wasn't alive during that time, and had only ever known of the world as it is today, he still didn't want anything like that happening again. Not when society was in the process of rebuilding itself. Some would seek to control this power, harness it for themselves perhaps and preserve the ancient history. But that's how issues arose, most problems always involved magic. Something as dangerous as power enhancement was also incredibly risky, and once word got out about it, all kinds of crazy people would try and use it.
Sovereign half thought about using it for himself, or perhaps shoving a bunch of his guild members in as guinea pigs to see if it might kill them. But he knew better than to give murderers and lunatics a taste of greater power. If he wanted his guild to be stronger, he wanted them to do it properly. No cheap tricks.
Standing at the edge of the marsh, he would memorise the map on the front with a rough guide towards the temple before rolling it up and putting it away. Glancing over to his duplicate self, he'd reach out and pat the rucksack they were carrying. It was large and felt pretty hefty, and only he knew of the contents inside. "Please don't drop it." He asked with a stern tone, to which his other self simply scoffed and smiled.
"Now then," Sovereign then looked in the direction of the other person accompanying him on the mission, "Shall we venture forth?"
