It only partially worked. The wounds took physical form yet the terror was easily shrugged off by the enemy guild master. Sovereign scowled, securing the mask back on his face and gripping tightly to his mace. Koji came hurtling towards him, his weapon aimed to pierce his heart. Instead, it would only strike the organ that Sovereign was just stood on, obliterating it as the young pup jumped back out of the way. "Don't you want to hear the sounds of your brother crying out in pain? I can create a perfect copy, I was there after all. As he begged me for mercy."Sovereign flicked out his wrist, a high pitch hum building up in the area for a split second before the air collapsed on itself with black magic. Thick clouds of purple and white light swirled in a vortex as he'd attempt to counter Koji.

In the end, it didn't matter. Koji's attack missed. He ignored the Sovereign's taunts fell on deaf ears. They were more like a faint buzz to him. What was noticed, however, was the thick clouds of purple and white.
They spiralled into the air, rushing towards him like a merciless tidal wave. His orange jacket burned away to nothingness, revealing his horribly scarred body underneath. His black and white fur rippled against the magical energies as they consumed his body. Koji could feel like very essence being torn apart, obliterated into nothingness.
His Aera wings disappeared behind him and Koji could feel himself plummeting to the ground like a sack of bones. He was falling, still consumed by Sovereign's magical clouds. Except he never felt the impact of hitting the ground. No, he continued falling. Falling into the depths of hell.
Koji could feel a grim smile on his mien. How ironic. All this time he was fighting for Topaz. In the bitter end, he was not even able to join his brother in the afterlife. I tried.
Back in the cathedral, the purple and white magic disappeared.
Nothing remained.
