Kasumi stretched herself slightly across the makeshift arena. It had been some time since they fought each other last time though she still remembered them as fresh as it was yesterday. Back then however, she was filled with anger that her technique was sloppy and her movement were sluggish. This time, she was on top form. Or at least as close to top form as she could be.

She knew Orion had also improve since back then. Ever since the meeting with the almighty spirit, he had clearly put in more effort in his training. The man was nothing like the drunk she met not too long ago...in fact he exude confidence worthy of one to be called a god slayer. Although Kasumi had doubt she could defeat him, she hoped that she could hold back someone of his caliber enough until help arrives.

"I am. Well then, shall we?"

First Kasumi would enhanced her defenses, magical energy seeping through her and fortifying her skin. Once Orion gave him the permission she would then test Orion's defense by taking a step in, closing the distance between them. A simple jab shot towards his face to check if he would just tank her hit like he did last time.

The jab struck Orion squarely yet he didn't so much as reeled back from it. It confirmed her prediction that his endurance had also improve since back then. She had retreated immediately once her punch met contact, seizing him up with her eyes. Looks like she had to bring the big guns soon...it would take forever if she try to wear him down with basic attacks.

Kasumi watched as Orion took out his katana and began swinging it down towards her. Before this, his speed would have been but a blur before her eyes. Now she could see it...though she was not fast enough to move cleanly out of the way. In respond to the sword strike she would block it with one of her forearm, which cause her to wince slightly but she was still able to block the sword. Her other hand was glowing with magical energy before she deck him hard in the stomach, the attack this time was almost twice as strong as her regular attack.

"You really are a tough bastard aren't ya?"

Even though Orion took the blow head-on he bounced back to his feet soon enough. Kasumi would shake the fist she used to punch slightly before resuming her stance once more as she hopped on the heels of her feet. The smirk on his face did not go unnoticed...he was up to something and she knew it.

Thus imagine her surprise when she saw Orion tossed his sword towards her direction. Instinctively she would deflect it to the ground. Even though he was unarmed, Orion was a lightning mage. He could easily slung lightning by the time she got close enough between them. Channeling the energy into her feet, she burst forward with both arms raised in a peekaboo stance.

"If they get punched by me then they're not the type I am interested in first place anyway."

Two sharp jabs would follow as soon as she get into distance as she attempt to stop whatever ruse Orion had in action.

Kasumi felt her blows connect but did not feel any satisfaction from it. This was just a warming up phase for them both, probing each other for flaws within their defenses and adjusting their attacks to compensate. The god slayer didn't take her seriously...well if he did, perhaps this match would be a whole lot shorter. The punch struck Kasumi but she had caught it in her hand before letting go as soon as he pulled it back.

"...Maybe not, but it will distract you at least."

That punch caught her off-guard but Kasumi had met more skillful melee fighters. That said she couldn't deny the strength behind his punches however...lacking it may be in any other area. She would then drive a vicious hook towards his side in in response to his attack.

When Orion mentioned about the guild's upcoming tournament, Kasumi can't help but grin slightly. It's a chance to fight against different people with different level of skill sets with varying tactics and strategy. She wasn't arrogant enough to think that she could win the tournament without a doubt but at the same time, she wasn't going to just roll over either.

"You ask for it!"

The palm thrust against her chest sent her backward but she manage to stabilize herself. Her fortification spell had finally worn off and she can feel a bruise where she had been shove. She immediately mimic his tactic, her hand thrusted against his chest as if she was shoving back. In truth however, she was absorbing Orion's energy so that her wounds would regenerate herself. Should the effect succeed the sting she felt earlier would be gone as well as the bruise that came with it.

The rejuvenating effect of her strike kicked in indicating that the attack was successful. Perhaps he felt his energy being drained or he may have just instinctively thought it was a bad idea to be up close any further. The words he spoke next confirmed it was moreso the former than the latter. Well, no matter. She still have another big gun of her own anyway.

Kasumi cannot deny there was truth in his words. She would need to push herself beyond the limit. Her opponent won't play around when the time comes and nor should she either. She had to find the weakness behind this god slayer and use it to her advantage.

The man changed his angle of attack, this time striking her from the flank. Immediately Kasumi would raise her hand in response to block the attack, grunting from the pain it brought. She would then grab the offending leg in response, before she attempt to take him down by slamming her palm straight towards his stomach.

The god slayer formed a whip made out of crackling lightning. It was a new technique she had never seen before...and by the time she realize the length of the whip it was too late. The whip would rush towards her body with incredible speed and she knew it was gonna her hurt a lot. Magical energy rush towards her eyes as she extended her hand. Time seems to slow down for a moment...

Before she would smack the whip back towards Orion. Although she could feel her own life force being drained by Orion, she had always wanted to use Orion's attack back at himself. Of course at that point Kasumi didn't know she was thinking the exact same thing as Orion only the pain registered on her hands.

"That's a new one. Never seen that before."she replied, though shaking her hand a bit as she had reflected the damage back towards Orion.
