With that way the feline responded to her words, she developed a strong feeling in opposition to her previous theory.
It was just a really big tree, wasn’t it? It was probably just a big tree.
However, she reckoned she would feel bad if they stopped now, even if it turned out to be just an insentient hunk of rough wood of mutant proportions. It still had a small chance of being the tree in question, even though she was certain Yggdrasil was not a spruce tree, and it probably would have been a lot more distinct than any regular tree. But who knows?
”Well, you never know, I suppose. Except when you do always know, but needless to say I’ve refrained from looking into this possibility for fear of discovering myself jumping to irrational conclusions,” she admitted, following along behind Lucius.
Besides, she would get a personal look at the guild Cheshire came from. It was probably one of her first times visiting this place, and that was an intriguing notion.

His paces drew them both outside of the village and further into the woodlands encompassing it. “Oh – yeah, I suppose that's true,” he said with a tone that suggested he knew exactly what she was talking about. He was unclear, however.
'She mentioned something about that, right?' The question was posed to himself as he stepped over various winding branches, dips, and elevations in the uneven forest floor.
It did not take them long before a stone home came into view. The trees peeled away as they approached. A homey air settled atop them as they closed the distance between it and them. The tree was likely in view as the approached the steps of the guild.
“See it?” he asked as he pointed above the treeline. One in particular pointed through the line and further skyward than the rest.

After the trees parted to reveal both the guild and the vegetation near it, Justice turned her attention towards the gargantuan spruce tree in the background. To look at its entire frame, she needed to scale it with her gaze while taking a small step back. ”Oh, oh wow-“ she started. Though she knew it was not the legendary tree in question, it still was a large tree. One that could be used for lookout purposes if the need arose; just not transporting oneself through the world as the tree she talked about depicted in scripture.
”As I thought, I was wrong. However, it still serves as an excellent lookout for your headquarters. Surveillance is key when it comes to monitoring a guild, otherwise it can be subjected to attacks from raiders or worse,” she continued. Big on security, she often kept several patrols around Asgard that kept its inhabitants safe. On top of that, she had lookouts all throughout the settlement watching over the denizens of the community.

A giggle ensued, one seemingly born from a self long-since past, but visiting nonetheless. “I kinda figured,” he started as he stared up at the tree with her.
“You know, we've been pretty luck so far.” He thought about all of the times he could now remember thanks to his previous anima-relevant union. “We haven't been raided or anything like that, but that isn't gonna be true forever. There's no way this world is that forgiving and it definitely isn't that inattentive, either.”
He brought his gaze down from the tree.
“But we should be fine. As long as there's at least one of us that's on the lookout for these things, we should be fine.”

”Do not fret, Mister Nyctores.”
It seemed to be a habit for her—bouncing off her heels with her hands clasped behind her back. Wearing a smile on her face, she decided to drop a bombshell on the feline before her.
”Normally, we ask for a cut of a settlement’s inventory in return for protecting them against the magical beasts that blight the lands. We need to feed our community, after all, but we don’t ask for enough to cripple the settlement. And it’s up to them whether they want the deal or not. However,” she paused, and there seemed to be an inkling of mischief in her eyes. She enjoyed throwing curveballs.
”I can see the hardships you face here, and if you ever are in a pinch, feel free to ask Odin’s Spear for any help you require. We will not charge; this is a simple token of appreciation courtesy of our family’s longstanding history with yours, and the simple fact I can see you are not a bad person.”

Minster Nyctores. He still had not gotten used to that.
“Understandable.” He replied in a tone that suggested it really was understandable, but he did not expect them to make such an offer free of charge. It really was a deal he could not refuse.
“Really? You're sure about that? I mean, I could definitely offer a little something,” he said sheepishly. Though, this was a wondrous day. He seemed to have acquired a powerful ally – allies, single-handedly and it was not something planned at all.
“Thanks. You're definitely not a bad person yourself, either!” He smiled enough for his eyes to close from the unbridled zeal pushing his cheeks up.

Well, that was a relieving feeling. For once, an individual did not default to considering her a vile person because of the newfound accent she possessed or her somewhat impish mannerisms.
Extending her hand, if allowed she would shake Lucius’ hand. There was no ulterior motive in mind, she just wanted to lend a hand to him and his guild. If the world was to survive, the population needed to band together against the forces of evil and the magical beasts to prevail. It sounded cheesy, but she meant it. The things people considered cheesiest always seemed to be the exact thing the world needed to prosper.
”Wonderful. And thank you—you may not know it, but you words touch me,” the Godfather answered. Releasing his hand from her grasp, she gave him an affirmative nod. It seemed that she secured a powerful associate today; another individual to join her in her crusade against those who would see the world’s ruin.
”I will go make this appointment we spoke of earlier. I hope to see you again soon, Mister Nyctores—but for now, I am going to bid you farewell.”
