All would die...
Kasumi couldn't deny that possibility. Afterall, various religions have promised the coming of the end of days. A day of judgment basically which even the divinities themselves cannot escape destruction from. If such thing happened then there really was nothing she could do about. She was afterall, a mere mortal walking on the surface of the earth. Not a hero or anything of the sort.
"Assuming that I did not get killed immediately, I would prioritize on survival. Find out about this being as much as I can while trying to stay alive."she replied, finally finishing her drink. It would be a delicate balance...if she prioritized too much on information gathering then she would have earn this being attention and likely even get wiped out from the spot. If she focused too much on survival then it would just be a lifetime of running until she meet a deadend. One that she would be hopeless to defend herself against.
"Should death be unavoidable, then I will make sure to tell everything I knew about this being to other survivors. Put faith in them that they would utilize the knowledge well."In contrast Kasumi was not afraid of death. Not that she was suicidal or chasing martyrhood..if she had given everything she have and still lost then she could only accept them with grace.
"Though if you meant the time between now and then...I suppose training yourself would be my answer. We can only do what we can do...and no one else should fault us for that." she finally finished.

"I suppose that's smart." Orion nodded, although he knew himself better in that he'll probably in the front lines trying to stay the attack of this deity. He would not sit idly by when people would be sacrificing their lives. So,in a way, he'd be one of the first casualties when it came to it.
"Gathering intel is good, but then what use is intel when we don't have the means to exploit it?" Orion sighed, mulling it over as he nursed his drink. He had intel. He just was not sure if it was something that should be shared. It did not help them at all.
Training. Orion thought that was something at least they could do. "A god slayer is needed right?" Orion chuckled, "Who in the hell could slay such a god..." He needed to trust others more, but if he were being honest, he has not met anyone able to contend with such a force, "Do you know then of anyone who might be strong enough? Your guild mates? Master?" Orion couldn't even say that of his own master. Nobody had the capacity to be that strong.

"Even if we don't have the means to exploit it, it would be presumptuous of us to think no one else can."
Kasumi didn't want to simply fall in despair at the helplessness of the situation. There must be something that someone can do, they simply needed the persistence to follow on through despite multiple failures. What fun would a mystery book be if the detective decided to throw in the towel the moment they get stuck with certain clues? When Orion asked whether she knew someone strong enough to face such a deity.
"My guildmaster is pretty strong but I haven't seen her true strength yet. So I cannot really answer that question."she told him truthfully. It was pretty clear to the female mage that Orion had deemed this god to be too dangerous to be left alone. Whether it was out of fear of it's powers or that he knew more than he'd tell, that much was certain to her at least. That said she was thankful for the hospitality Orion had treated her with. Leaving him stewing like this would have been more fun in the past...but for now she decided to assuage his fears.
"Your hair will turned grey if you keep worrying like that Mr Prima. There's no law saying only one individual can beat this almighty spirit." she said at first, letting the word sink in before continuing. "If it comes to it, we'll work together to defeat it. That's all there is to it."
The answer was more simple than she would have like but hopefully would put Orion at ease.

"I suppose you're right," Orion acquiesced, chuckling at the thought of Kasumi being the positive one in this conversation. She had been the more reserved one, yet it was her that had been actively trying to stay positive. Usually that was Orion's job. He was supposed to be the one rallying people to the cause. "My arrogance...I suppose is arguably misplaced."
He looked towards the window, night had fallen silent, "The next generation will always surpass the previous." An old proverb, something he kept in mind as he went along his path of discovering who his father and mother truly were, and why did his mother die. "But first, the current generation must make the world a better place for the next."
The comment about his hair made him chuckle, "All this talk has aged me ten years!" Worrying was never a good habit. It was something that killed people. "We'll work together I suppose. For now, I hope you keep yourself in shape. Never stop surpassing your goals." It was a reminder for himself too.
Orion finally stood up, "I have quite a bit to think about. Say, the next time we meet, I hope it'll be another mission. I did like working with you, even though the last time we did it was more like a chore than anything!" Orion chuckled, "Next time, a real mission, hey?" With that, Orion took his leave, hoping to get some shut-eye before tomorrow came knocking.

Seeing the countenance before her lighten up, Kasumi nodded in response. It wasn't like Orion to fall in despair like this which is why she decided to give him a gentle nudge. Had he been completely absorbed in his worry, she may have decided to beat some sense into him again so that he would become more of his former self. Fortunately, that did not appear to be the case.
"And the reason we're here now was because our previous generation made the world better for us in spite of the calamity."she added. Of course that would continue on until the future where earth would be restored once more...or destroyed, should the most unfortunate circumstance happen. Though she would only worry about that particular bridge when it was time to cross it.
A small smirk formed on her lips when Orion laughed at the comment of the possibility of his hair greying. He had finally laughed during the whole conversation, banishing the doubts that had been plaguing his mind throughout. When Orion suggested they would work a mission together, Kasumi would nod in response. She was more than eager to show towards Orion just how strong she had become since back then.
"Of course. Until we meet again."
Kasumi would follow suit as well, before the barmaid approached her asking about the drink. Her eyebrow twitched slightly, as she felt deja vu all over again. Pulling out her wallet, she would pay the barmaid for their drinks as she made a mental note to talk about this with him next time.
