Blood and Bone[Ivory/Fight]

She's punctual, isn't she? How reliable~

Ivory was laying in the shade offered by the forestry edging the clearing, although she wasn't wearing a body that was familiar to Kasumi. She'd watch the girl for a time, her small feline body laying in the grass, relaxed and motionless save for the occasional ear flick. Kasumi didn't appear to be one with idle hands, and looked to have a clever mind behind her eyes: she was playing with one of those old timey puzzle toys, ones often too difficult for the common person to solve.

If she can apply that strategic mind in battle, she'll be a great asset, eh? Is that what you ultimately saw with your Eye, Anniken? Tail swishing, Ivory would rise from her resting place, paws carrying her out of the shade and under the afternoon lit clearing. As she approached, her body would shift from animal to human, an amicable grin settled upon her lips. "Kasumi Ito, do you ever rest that mind of yours?" She was teasing her for the most part, but was also hinting at the fact that she'd been observing her up until then. Curious as to what kind of reaction, if any, that it would garner from the woman.

Ivory was pleasantly pleased by the woman's mannerisms. She stood at attention like the soldiers she'd seen in worn photos took from before the calamity. Formalities that were usually only displayed when she were around the lowest of foot soldiers, the non-mages. Even so, she'd surmised that they'd often stiffened up out of pure fear rather than calm respect. It was nice to see, although she felt she didn't deserve it.

"I see. Nervous to be called out here suddenly by the big bad Underboss?" Winking, Ivory's grin displayed conviviality that often confused the newer recruits. After all, she was supposed to be a tough and powerful wolf, eh? But, she supposed, this one had already seen her blasted drunk so.. maybe it was entirely expected. "I guess you do have some reason to be nervous, though. I called you out here to spar with you, which I'm sure a clever gal such as yourself already guessed, huh? If you're up for it, anyways!"

It wasn't a choice, though. Ivory fully intended on pursuing the assessment regardless of Kasumi's acceptance of it. Though, she could hardly fathom her denying the challenge. Anniken wouldn't of recruited someone gutless enough to deny one.

Hmm, just as Anniken said, Kasumi is a physical augmentation mage. Interesting. Ivory had not strictly fought against one like this; one who was bound to hand to hand only (save for non-mages), but it was certainly intriguing. She decided she'd match the physical aspect of the woman before her, rather than using some of her favorite forms. The best form for that was..

Boy Cheshire - the half feline male she often wore for certain official business occasions rather than for battle, but he was well suited to hand to hand situations. It was his only specialty, actually, save for the enhanced senses belonging to cats.

The only downside to his form was - her clothes remained. So she'd end up just ripping off the shirt she'd been wearing prior as soon as his form filled it out, tossing it to the ground. "It looks like you're not sparing any energy, eh?" He could sense the hidden aura emanating from her, and decide, perhaps, he could hit her harder than he initially intended to.

In fact, the sheer amount of mana radiating from her made him excited enough to try hard - he'd lick his lips as his own own mana began to build up, albeit his was visible. An aura of white and yellow began to wisp around him as the hair, which matched his original form, began to float in the air. His own posture matched hers, but to a more animalistic and relaxed degree, before he'd throw himself forward at surprising speeds, his posture lowering as fist flew for the woman's abdomen.

He was grinning with satisfaction at the impact of his thrust, even if it had been blocked, he could practically feel the aura she'd erected be dampened significantly. But, that wasn't why he was grinning. He was pleased to see someone able to withstand it enough to of not been wrecked with one powered up wack. Physical augmentation mages were amazing!

His periphal had saw the uppercut coming, but, he took it without even trying to move out of the way - he wanted to know her force of power, too. Combined with the studded gloves, he'd feel the smack to a decent degree, but he felt it was lacking a bit. Nonetheless, he was sure his jaw was gonna be bruised black for a while.

She had stepped back, and he was just remaining there, an evidently pleased expression upon his shifted countenance. "Only on the ones who I think can take it. Your magic reeked from you, so I thought you could handle it. I was right~ your punches aren't too bad, either, clearly you've been partaking in the hand-to-hand combat trade for a while, eh?" Overall he was pleased, but, it had just began. How would the girl hold up with time?

He'd wink at her, issuing his readiness to proceed, before he'd nudge forward and toss his sweat-pant covered leg toward her side. She had backed up earlier, enough of a distance to steer clear of a punch, but his legs were long enough to bridge the gap without much effort of travel on his part.

His leg made contact with the woman's own; she was pretty quick! "Heeehe~" An exclamation of glee beamed from his vocals. From her own countenance, he could see that she seemed to be enjoying herself too. Anniken picked a good one, didn't she? As usual, but, he liked this recruit a fair bit more than some of the ones he had met over the years!

"Well, I guess I've had a bit of practice."

When the woman's foot smashed into his chest, he could feel the form's muscles wane beneath the impact - another heavy bruise to add to the list. But it seemed he was willing to take every hit she tossed his way. At least this time he reciprocated immediately, for when her foot smashed into him, he'd already had his opposite fist ready to slam into it, to send it away and, perhaps, disrupt her balance.

The spinning kick and manipulation of Ivory's own attack to benefit Kasumi's was clever, and he could not say he was surprised that it had happened. It even broke his skin this time, breaking beyond another black bruise and straight into wounded territory. The sting of it rattled his beautiful feline features, but it did not make his eagerness lessen any, as was visible by the smile still upon his lips - even as blood streaked from his cheekbone's split skin, rolling down to his jawline.

"I like you."

His next action might say the opposite of that, however, as his aura temporarily fell, causing his hair to cascade downward, before it was reinvigorated almost instantly. This time, however, the wound on his face seemed to of widened on it's own accord, the wisps of yellow and white apparently cutting into it, causing more blood to pour.

"But sometimes high damage can birth higher damage."

He'd punch, but his fist wasn't anywhere near her. Instead a concussive blow, illuminated by his sheer aura, exploded outward, to, unless she pulled off an impressive dodge, smash into her.

Well, he hadn't meant to send the girl flying. He had only wanted to reiterate that high power could backfire against certain individuals, including ones with a penchant for damaging their own self for the effect of a stronger attack. Fortunately, he had also sensed her aura burst in response, even if he hadn't seen it, and he knew that she'd erected enough of it to save herself from any serious damage. For that, he was pleased. She was able to dish out decent damage and was capable of handling large amounts of damage - but perhaps at the expense limiting her own attacking capabilities, if the blocking ate up too much of her overall stamina.

"You did well, though! I'm pleased!"

As she approached, he'd tilt his head as his hand went to his chin, stroking it with consideration. "I feel like you stumbled on something with that returning kick. If you could somehow figure out how to do that with your energy, you could take heavy magical hits and return them fully. Relying on defense too much will leave you drained, after all. You need to save some energy for attacking, too, otherwise you might end up at the end of the line with no means of escape."
