"Enough, hey?" Orion muttered to himself as he finally pulled the fish out of the water. It was regular in size, but still had a kick to it. Without delay, Orion placed the fish into the container he brought with him. It was a satchel, made of fiber woven together neatly, a fisherman's constant companion while out fishing. "When is enough ever enough..."
Orion sat back down, turning towards Topaz, "Did I tell you I saw Cheshire the other day?" The memory of the young woman surfaced, "We had a similar conversation." Orion paused, casting his line once again after hooking a bait, "This village, the guild. I could see it in her eyes. Every time she talked about it, I can see clearly. We weren't enough for her." The thought made Orion wince, it was a blow against his high esteem of Rhyolite and Cait Shelter.
To be enough was something unattainable, and Orion knew it better than anyone else. All of his training will eventually lead to a goal, and then a new goal will be made afterwards, and the pursuit will continue. "Things are good. I could never ask for a better guild," Orion nodded, "But the guild will one day ask for me to be better, and I'm afraid I won't be able to deliver when that time comes."

“Oh, you did?” His interest was perked. He reeled his line in, maintaining eye contact all the while. It showed the glutenous quality of his attention. For whatever reason, Topaz ventured towards a discussion less blithesome than usual. Perhaps there was a little more burred beneath his happy-go-lucky front. He was born into a dying world. There was no way he was, in actuality, a carefree kitty cat – but it was nice to be thought as such. Topaz enjoyed when people forgot about the world around them – at least for long enough for him to be able to fix before their attention returns to it.
An accepting smile was his initial reply to Orion's story. “And that's okay, I think. Maybe they already have a place they consider a home – or maybe they really are lookin' for more. More of what, though, right? Probably somethin' like... purpose.”
“But you're good!” Topaz was not quite as agreeable with the last part. “Anything the guild asks from you would be easy for you to do!” What made Topaz think so? Did Topaz know much about Orion? It was the obvious stuff. He was a large, muscular man with a devil-may-care atmosphere forever following him. His whole vice bleed strength.

"Purpose." Orion mused, to him, purpose almost felt like an empty hole which he was struggling to fill. He believed he had a purpose. He thought he had found a goal. But recently, it's all been torn down by all of his conversations while wandering around Alakitasia. His father being one of those who shattered his well-developed mindset. "It's that little flame that lights a fire under your ass," Orion chuckled at his own joke, "I guess the flame under my ass is still looking for its kindle." His fishing line was once again cast onto the water, hoping for one more catch today. The fish will serve the guild well, maybe feed the people who were unable to make anything for themselves today. Heck, with the fish caught by Topaz and his combined, they might even be able to feed to guild a whole week.
A glance sideways, and a sigh, "Never enough, Topaz," His cigarette was almost done, down to the last five puffs. "I don't think so," He shook his head, "Maybe you, and the master. Both of you can do it, I'm sure. Right?" It was more of a question to reassure himself, "Me? I'm as selfish as they come." He was his worst critic, after all.

Topaz snickered. Was it because Orion said 'ass?' Or maybe he just liked the wording. That was up to Orion's imagination. However, he did seem pretty amused all the way until some self criticism was made.
“Hm?” For a moment, it appeared as if Topaz did not even understand what was said with the pure, unbridled confusion tinging his inquisitive reply. “You think so?” It was fairly clear that Topaz did not agree, but was open for further elaboration. He was not one to believe himself infallible.
“I think that's how people are, though, right? It's like things just happen to me and then it just leads to me doing stuff for others. Maybe I'm the same way, but weird stuff just keeps happening!”
It was a strange point trying to be made. Topaz was suggesting that maybe he was just as selfish, but the events in his life skewed things in such a way that it appeared like he was being selfless. The guild was 'inherited' and they filled it with like minds for company. Was that selfless or selfish? He asked him just that. “This guild was Sylvia's home, but then she passed away. We took care of it and then made it a guild, but really I guess we just wanted some cool people to hang out with.”

"I suppose that's a way to do it," Orion nodded, his line once again tugging. Without thought, he snatched up the rod and reeled in the fish. In a way, everyone was a like a fish. A line constantly tugging everyone to their destination. Some call it fate, others like to tell themselves that they have free will. Orion didn't know what to think, aside from the fact that he will have fish for dinner tonight.
There will be a day, "Cool people, huh? Not sure why I'm there then," Orion chuckled, finishing the last of his cigarette. It had taken a longer time, especially since he had been busy talking. If he had been alone, the lone stick might have been accompanied by three more.
"We should be getting back." The conversation had muddled his thoughts. There were things to ponder, memories to be reviewed, and decisions to be made about himself, "I'm sure your brother will be happy about our catch today! And don't you dare take a bite while I'm not looking!" Just a precaution, Topaz was a cat, after all.
