[attr="class","kbody"] [attr="class","kicon"] [attr="class","ktitle"]By The Window [attr="class","kcontent"]It is deep in the woods, far from society. In a region that posts the remnants of an old civilization. These are the remains of an old town. Buildings, roads, and stone walls that have been engulfed by the elements. There is no determining whether these places have been forgotten for decades or centuries. But it is in this untouched region where that resides.
Up the mountains from these forgotten homes. Travel through the woods and past a stream. There is a cabin that seems long abandoned. The trees grow into its walls. The vines and bushes grow around it. And yet it does not suffer the same damage that the other buildings face. Though it looks abandoned, at the same time there appears to be someone, or something, ensuring its prolonged existence.
But any travler to this region need not look far to find the one responsible for the cabin’s upkeep. The being responsible does not travel far from the place—she does not need to. Having no want for food or water, she has need reason, no obligation to leave the old home. Day in, and day out she takes care of the place. And even today that remains true.
Approaching the cabin it could be seen that it is a small place. There might have been three or four rooms in the whole place. On the way up to it would be a stone path, now covered in grass and foliage. There is an old style door, and not far are windows that some how have not suffered through the years. Walk close and there is one window in particular, wide as it is, that would allow guests a glimpse of the insides before they got too close.
It is there that they would find the one responsible. As the sun finds its way into the noon sky, travelers could be greeted with the form of a young woman seated on an old sofa. Her dress resembles something gothic, covering her arms, and torso in dark shades and her legs in black tights. Framing her face would be thick locks of a golden hair seeming almost to grow on forever.
Their complexion is pale. Their eyes are shut. There is no sign of movement as she rests there within the rays of rising sun. Watch for long and it would seem that this person was nothing more than part of the scenary, part of the cabin. An object on display to improve the decor. And yet while any could think that, the truth was that this was the one in charge of taking care of the old cabin. This was Lillian Fay, and when she was not cleaning and straightening the cabin, she was resting before another day of work.

Sersi was no nomad, yet it didn't stop him from constantly being on the move without intent of settling. Whether it was exploring, artifact hunting or a simple urge to go somewhere the younger man would find his vessel draw to untouched lands. Today was no exception and he'd managed to stumble upon what could only be described as a forested wasteland.
Buildings with foliage eating them alive, yet more interestingly he could see not too far in the distance that there was a small home in a more well kept condition. Almost as if despite the place being abandoned an unmovable soul had taken refuge in it's wooden foundation. So with curiosity taking a hold of him he would make his way over, slowly, mindful of where he stepped and the area around him; traps were common in this dangerous world.
His black cloak hiding his features, a black suit underneath to fit his dapper aesthetic with a white button up hugged him beneath the clothing. A lone pentacle dangling under the color on a silver chain, something he'd taken from Samuelsonite before he went as an omen of balance and good luck within this tainted world. It wasn't longer than a minute before his footsteps were creeping onto hidden stone walkway and right outside the window.
Sersi could see with a closer inspection that the windows were clean, the green light on his forehead reflecting onto himself as he attempted to look deeper; past himself. There was something, or someone, in there and staring for a few more seconds his vision finally adjusted until the young woman was in his sights. Blond tresses kissing the floor and dark clothing covering porcelain skin, but something was... off.
Being god kin to a god of death, and being the wielder of a soul gem, the brown skinned man could see the souls of any being around him. So... why couldn't he see this one's? Were they actually alive or had he taken a spec of dust as the shape of a woman in a chair, laying still like some sort of doll. Continuing to watch her closer to see if she would move he could only assume a few things, she was a being whom had no soul, she was a golem brought to life for servitude or this was an illusion and he'd sprung a trap.
Only one way to find out for certain.
Lifting his hands slowly there would be a sudden slow rapping against the window to the home, hoping to get the girls attention. His scythe towering over him while attached to his back might of been suspicious as well as the cloak he'd worn, almost like death coming to claim a soul, but this situation was creepy enough by itself.
"Hello. Are you alright, ma'am?"

The movements were subtle, surprisingly so. These were not of the motions of a living being that was just rowsed from her sleep. Rather they were the meditated actions of a machine.
In less time than a blink the woman’s eyelids were open. They revealed the glassy jewels that were her eyes. Then once they were open there was no immediate response. Rather than the anxiety most would feel in this situation, she seemed quite calm as she stared forward for a moment. Gazing, unmoving—if not for her eyes opening it would remain difficult to tell there was life inside of her.
Then finally it happened—she tilted her head to the side. Not an emotion response, but an action that allowed her the best opportunity to observe the source of the sound that struck her ear.
Lily saw the person outside the window. She gazed at them not with any sort of apprehension, but with the most subtle recognition that they existed and they were standing just a few feet away. After a moment of staring like this, she pushed herself up from where she was seated. Not in the slow pace of a human fighting against their own flexibilities to reach a standing position, but with a sudden motion that carried her up to her feet and then forward and a unexpectedly swift pace.
This brought her to the window where she passed the person one more glance before reaching her hands forward and grabbing at the latch of the window. Within seconds it was pulled free from the wall, and the window was released. The silence that covered the cabin finally came to an end as this motion welcomed the sounds of the surrounding forests to enter.
What came next were words that made it obvious she had not heard the man. It was not him asking her if she was alright that got her standing. Rather, it was only the noise that struck the window. But now that they were standing face to face she would attempt to understand him by asking the following.
”Are you a guest of the master? Please. Come inside and I will prepare some tea.” In a mechanical way her arms were pulled up and posed in such a way to usher the stranger into the cabin.
There was no effort to direct him to the door of the place. No additional comment or question clarifying who he was. Lillian was built to serve any that would approach this cabin, and serve she would do.

His eyes didn't waver from the woman as she opened her own peering gems, but she still hadn't moved for a few moments. The entire ordeal was a bit unnerving but Sersi was a man with nerves of the strongest caliber and simply waited for what she would do next. The entire time his eyes would be glowing emerald while attempting to find some semblance of a soul in the now active vessel but there wasn't one... only lifeless movements. Nearly confirming his suspicions that she was indeed a doll given animation.
Opening the window for him, Sersi couldn't help but clear his throat as the woman looked down to him and offered her a simple smile. Before he could speak however she was asking if he was a friend of her master, and that she would make him some tea to which he would give a small chuckle. Without even speaking he could of simply walked away, left the automaton to her own doings but for some reason it seemed... cruel. Especially given the state of the home, it seemed as if she had been abandoned.
"Thank you." He expressed almost somberly, watching her motion for him to enter and instead backing up to look for an entrance that he could use. Moving through the bushes he stood over to reach the door and opening it calmly, stepping inside to be greeted by the sounds of his weight making the wooden boards creak.
Looking to the condition on the inside it didn't look like anyone had actually lived here in years and after a few seconds of observation he would remove his hood. Showing off the red ropes of hair he possessed and the striking green gem on his forehead, still glowing in the dim lighting of the cabin. Legs cross naturally as if he were sitting but instead of falling his appendages would fold properly while he floated in place, his height now matching up with the girls evenly before he spoke.
"Tell me, child, where is your master? How long have you been alone?"
His words may have been invasive but he was still kind in his efforts. Just because she was a golem didn't mean she didn't have the right to be treated like a person, and as he waited for tea he wouldn't mind questioning her to see if she truly desired to stay here alone. Maybe she could come along with him, he wouldn't mind having a companion after all, especially one he didn't have to constantly care for on his own.

[attr="class","kbody"] [attr="class","kicon"] [attr="class","ktitle"]By The Window [attr="class","kcontent"]Lillian might have ushered the unfamiliar man in, but she did not expect what was to follow. As he drifted away from the window and towards the door there was a look on her face that almost seemed to question where he had gone. With the window wide open she could not comprehend why anyone would have traveled so far out of their was as to use the door. Her eyes shifted and followed him until he was out of view. Only then did she pivot mechanically on her foot and step over to a nearby counter. There it could be seen that there was a small burner and teapot at the ready. Wordlessly, she grabbed the pot and lifted it towards a nearby sink. Nothing was said, and her eyes remained focused on the pot. Though something in her eyes suggest a wavering. Within the landscape of apathy that painted the automaton, there was something human. That part of her was affected by the man’s sudden intrusion. Alas, she was created to serve and no matter how she felt she would do that. By the time the foreign man had entered her domain she already had the kettle on the burner and was watching it carefully to ensure that nothing went wrong in its preparation. That solemn expression of hers only seemed to intensify upon his entry. Not because of his presence because of the question that he posed. Where was her master? And how long had she been alone? The most immediate answer she could give was turning towards the floating man and staring him in the eyes. Lillian was not human, but she was also not an idiot. The world and even the concept of time did not escape her. Was there something beating in her chest, at this moment it would have become tight, so tight that it would cripple her. Within the doll’s chest was nothing like it, and yet she felt something. There was a sensation that she could not put into words. It delayed her answer. ”He is.. Away. To battle. And.. Since he left.. Winter has come and left..” She spoke slowly with breaks every so often. As she spoke her volume lowered more and more. By the time she said her final words she was whispering, ”Nearly one hundred times now.” Notes: Sersi[attr="class","kinfo"] Words: A lot [attr="class","kpage"]3 [newclass=.kbody]background-color:#fff;width:300px;margin:auto;padding:5px;border:#ddd 1px solid;box-shadow:#565656 1px 1px 5px;[/newclass][newclass=.kicon img]margin:5px;border-radius:50%;overflow:hidden;border:0;[/newclass][newclass=.kicon]width:110px;margin:auto;[/newclass][newclass=.kcontent]font-family:tahoma;font-size:10px;color:#868686;padding:15px;padding-bottom:5px;text-align:justify;[/newclass][newclass=.klink]width:300px;text-align:right;[/newclass][newclass=.ktitle]color:#433A44;font-weight:bold;font-family:georgia;text-align:center;font-size:24px;border-bottom:#433A44 1px solid;letter-spacing:-2px;width:250px;margin:auto;[/newclass][newclass=.kinfo]padding:5px;color:white;font-family:tahoma;background-color:#433A44;font-size:10px;[/newclass][newclass=.kpage]display:inline-block;width:200px;color:white;text-align:right;[/newclass]

Sersi's gaze never left her, watching her turn and stare into his own glowing green marbles. Each passing moment between the question and answer might have seemed tense for a human, and even with the woman being a creation he still felt it himself. The world was often a sorrow filled place and sometimes there wasn't hope for a better one, but this feeling was more than dread. It was empathy for her situation at prodded at his chest.
Naturally hardened features eased to allow his eyes to convey the emotion he felt toward her. So her master was a warrior who'd left a century ago, without any sort of backup plan for the being; some might of called it cruel. Sersi called it naivety at it's most pure.
"I see." The young man replied, his eyes leaving hers for only a moment to look toward the window to see nothing but foliage. The only view she'd likely had for quite some time and her entire exist, essentially locked in a cage like a pure rabbit longing to feel the freedom of the open world.
"It is... unfortunate how fate often plays out. I'm sorry for your loss, and I pray your master has found peace."
He spoke in a more quiet, sincere tone despite the almost muted background noise of the cabin. Cut off from the hectic world outside, almost like an alternate realm or dimensional space. He would allow this silence to stand for only half of a minute before continuing to speak now, a tone with slight enthusiasm despite the downcast.
"If you don't mind me asking, what will you do now? Will you follow a new master... or perhaps become your own?"

[attr="class","kbody"] [attr="class","kicon"] [attr="class","ktitle"]By The Window [attr="class","kcontent"]If Lillian could, she would have sighed at that moment. Yet there were no lungs to heave. There was no movement to her chest. Nothing to relay how she felt, nothing to externalize all that she felt. This all begged the question whether the doll could feel anything at all. While she could not answer that question herself, there was no doubt that something bit at her psych. For something as mechanical as she was, she was taking longer than necessary to contemplate the mans words. Did the passing of time dull her senses or was there more complexity to her inner workings? This all came as a response to the man apologizing for her loss. That word, ‘Loss’, spun the gears of her mind in ways that noone could have imagined. In a life such as hers there was nothing to be lost. The cabin, the forest, and herself remained over countless decades. The only ‘loss’ she had experienced was that of her master. It remained a concept that she could not comprehend. What did it mean? Did her master vanish? Did he run away? The concept of death was too far from her. It was something that she never bothered to dwell on. Then what else could have happened to the man that had created her and left her to this life. It was not as if she had not thought of what her existence was without her master. But any ideas of going forward were without abandoning the cabin. There was never an idea to leave. She might wander off to gather flowers and herbs, but these actions were always followed by an intention to return. There was never a plan to leave, and this meant it was difficult for her to answer the strangers next questions. Will she follow a new master? To this she paused. At this point the tea was ready, and soon to be prepared. She had placed a cup down planning to fill it, but when the question struck her ears she paused and looked towards the man. Then she turned away. Her eyes moved away from the man and over to the chair she was sitting on moments earlier. Laid out next to the chair were countless books, some open, some closed, and others some mixture of the two. Then she shook her head and spoke. ”I.. Was created to serve. That is what I must do. Today. Tomorrow. For however long it may be.” Should the man look at the books she gazed at seconds before he would find that they covered an expansive array of topics. Geology, herbology, alchemy, history, culture, and more.
