How To Save A Life [mission,closed]

Ivory drove the pair in one of Odin Spear's rare collection of automobiles, but it was rusted to no end and rode unsteadily, rocking back and forth as the wheels carried them over vast terrain. "Why not you?" She teased, evidently not straddled by the same sleepiness that had overtook her partner. She accepted the gum that was tapped against her lips, chewing as she followed up C's inquiries, "That's because I haven't told Anniken yet, and she'd of noticed if we'd of left during the daylight hours."

Her foot was pressing against the pedal without concern, flying them through the treeless terrain at high speeds.

Whatever happened to subordinates just going along with whatever you told them? She chuckled thinking about it - subordinate. Despite her title, Ivory hardly felt like anyone's superior. She manged that easier while she was male, as her he-self had more alpha in him than she did, despite his felid origins.. speaking of which, isn't that guy related to Cheshire's race? Awkward.

"You, because I know about you and Anniken's relationship. So, who better to bring along than someone who cares about AJ's well-being? And, at Samuelsonite because.. as rumor has it, they're dark magic cultists able to survive independently of anyone's help, which, combined, leads me to believe they're the most likely to be in possession of the large lacrima that I need, and few smaller ones." Along with some corrupt individuals I can test my theory on. Not that she needs to know that just yet. Taking someone's soul against their will wasn't something most people would agree too. But, Ivory figured if she was going to practice on any sort of human it should be on the ones who made effigies out of slaughtered travelers. Such scum didn't deserve a gentle hand, and frankly it was a sacrifice that would ultimately help AJ, so it was a dirtiness she was fully willing to get her hands in.

Ivory only gave an eyebrow quirk as the interchange to the affectionate-interactions observation. She didn't want to get into that now. Besides, regardless of her and Justice's.. feelings, she and Anniken were close too and affection of some sort would always be around. Which might be awkward for the jealous type but, her sense of discomfort wasn't Ivory's problem, and she wouldn't play like it was by acknowledging it.

Not that she could deny Cheshire had some valid reason to have her reservations..

"Hmm? Our Godfather's heart is weak, don't you know? We live in a post-apocalyptic world and the medicine to maintain her heart's health is becoming scarcer and scarcer. Ever year it takes longer to find more and I know.. one day it's just not going to be there anymore." Her voice and facade was notably sorrowed by that reality, but it didn't stop her from driving like a madwoman over the hills than had began to rise - they were nearing Samuelsonite, the hills were a giveaway to that fact. Hopefully the vehicle wouldn't break in half after launching over a hill one increment too big. "But with the right sized lacrima I can begin to solve that problem."

"Yeah, AJ's eye makes it hard to distrust anyone in Odin's Spear." Despite it's indirectness, she was confessing that she too trusted Cheshire. She didn't know her too well, but it was enough to know that AJ loved her and had recruited her, which meant there was no room for Ivory to waste her time wondering about her loyalties. Thus why she had brought her along: on top of having won AJ's affections, she had gladly been accepted into the guild. Which meant that she could trust her with her life, and if push came to shove, depend on her for whatever she might need during this mission.

As their vehicle bounded over hill after hill, with heavy jerking upon each landing -- enough to cause a lesser neck whiplash -- she'd glance to Cheshire as she spoke with a downtrodden-neess. "Don't be silly. I've known them for seven years. You've only just met them in comparison. With time you will know more. Knowledge that will rival even mine, I'm sure."

"Yes, we'll be there any moment now. I think. Unless Kasumi's map was wrong but I doubt it. That girl is quite the stickler for being organized and accurate."

Ivory grinned and shrugged, supposing it wasn't all to bad to be compared to a wise old man. Not that Cheshire had necessarily used that terminology, but she'd fill in the blank for her. After all, Ivory was definitely a pouring source of squirrel-like wisdom!

"Meh. I was sort of thinking of just bum rushing and destroying everyone."

She chuckled, clearly amused by her own recklessness. But it she wasn't.. lying. With the poor reputation the cultists had, she assumed they were all inherently evil - so why not kill any who got in their way?

"But, I suppose, if you want to go the more covert route we could kill just two and take their suits to find what we need. It'll probably be slower than massacring everyone but, likely effective nonetheless. Your call. I'm not too worried about their strength." Ivory was quite confident in her own abilities, as was evident by her sheer lack of concern. Though, to be fair, she had rarely faced a mage who she couldn't turn into a crisp.

Overconfidence could get her killed, she knew, but that's why fleeing was always an option. One she had no shame in doing if push came to shove.

"I've done covert ops before, silly. What do you think a take-over magician is good for? We can excell in both guns-blazing techniques and in roleplaying as entirely different people for the sake of achieving a goal. I've done quite a few assassinations in my time wearing the male's skin, for instance.. So, I dont mind, honestly. Going covert for your sake is fine by me, and also viable. We'll find what we need regardless. Unless it doesn't exist. Then I guess we'll be a bit on the fucked side of things."

Samuelsonite Town was finally in view, and Ivory would quickly release her petal-to-the-medal-method and bring the vehicle to a rolling stop just behind one of the various hills. They were positioned several meters away from the edge of the town, where the effigies that lined the border looked little more than an inch in size due to their distance.

Ivory had pointed to her tits and wiggled her eyebrows toward Cheshire, allowing that simple gesture to answer half of what the female had inquired.

"Doesn't matter what your usual method is, all it takes for us to roam the streets without suspicion is likely a simple snagging of attire. You won't have to hold the lacrima either, though.." She'd exit the vehicle that had recently been parked, where a hill blocked their view of the town and vice versa. "You say you can move through shadows? Can you move things through shadows? That might ease the burden of having to carry it out in the open, if you can misplace it from shadow to shadow? Specifically if you can do it from a large distance. Otherwise I can carry it back. With an arsenal of forms at her disposal, Ivory as certain one of them could hold it.

Murdering a whole settlement for the sake of one lacrima was greedy, though..

I suppose covert would be the most decent option. There's probably some children here anyways.. No need to murder all of their family members in one go.
