Be not afraid of greatness; Some are born great, some achieve greatness, and others have greatness thrust upon them. Destined to overcome anything and push the tides of the world, she was foretold to bring a new ideology to this broken land and restore balance. To this, Aura couldn’t help but fall short.
[break][break]
As a child, Aura was shy and reserved; growing up with only a small amount of friends, and a rather large number of acquaintances. Originally one of many orphans, she was eventually adopted into a family living in current day Andesite Village. When pressed about her origin, her guardians would only say that they found her in an abandoned building on the outskirts of Diorite Town, leading them to believe that she was left by her parents for either a noble or selfish cause.
[break][break]
In the quaint and crumbling society, she was raised to believe that magic was sinful and lead to wars, her guardians both being non-magical by nature. This resulted in her being extremely gentle and kind hearted, wanting to create peace when there was some type of tension in the air. Caring so much for the well being of others, she willingly took blame and punishment from them so that she could be someone who never hurt people, absorbing all of the torment and negativity. Unfortunately, this lack of assertiveness had gotten her bullied and taken advantage of by her lesser peer's.
[break][break]
It was only a few years later when it was discovered that Aura was magically capable, and whispers wrought havoc upon her. She had developed into the evil that she resented for so long, knowing that this discovery was a bad omen for the upcoming future. At twelve years old, Aura left what had come to be her home, hoping that her lack of presence would keep her family, and the village safe.
[break][break]
Hearing a few tales about younger folks surviving off the land were misleading however, and Aura struggled more than she had thought she would. Half starved, she stumbled upon a group of wandering mercenaries, some of which were wizards as well. At first she was reluctant to even associate with them, simply for the fact that they had magic, but she realized that it was asinine to try and hate what she was herself. [break][break]
The group didn't have a name, but they all seemed to listen to one particular older man, Balto. At a glance she could not grasp how old he was, but his stories hinted that he participated/or witnessed the calamity first hand. Every night, they gathered around their makeshift bonfire, passing around food to eat, and intently focused on the elder spins his tales. Slowly it was convincing enough, that she could use her power for good.
[break][break]
A year later, Aura was taught more about her magic, and the team delved into ruins from before the calamity. It was here that she was united with her blade that would become the core of her unique magic.
[break][break]
However, she found her courage to fight too late. At sixteen, Aura went back to Andestite to reconnect with those that had raised her. Her heart wanted to convince them that she could use her power for good, but would be unable to do so. The night she disappeared, her guardians had went out to search for her in an attempt to bring her back, and walked into a den of monsters.
[break][break]
Beneath her altruistic and gentle nature, grew an underlying fear of being alone that was aggravated by her family's death. At eighteen she joined Nemean Claw, dedicating herself to slaying monsters, and refusing to get close to anyone that could be used against her. She threw away her previous ideology of ‘being hurt rather than hurting others’, pledging to crush those who dare threaten her place of belonging. Having been conflicted by her previous beliefs that magic was evil, she has now embraced her origin and has made an oath to become as powerful as she could. Aura became ruthless and brutal in order to protect those that she cares for, yet she managed to maintain complete composure.
Despite these internal feelings she has about power, good, and evil, Aura finds it hard to rationalize why she has become this way.
