"Why don't ye just pay up, ye little fuck'r?"
Ivory had been lazing about that day, laying atop one of the many sporadically placed scrap-metal made buildings, contentedly absorbing the warmth of the sun. This one was of the shorter variety, stunted enough to jump off of without inury. It provided as one Shale Town's "taverns," where an assortment of hoodlums often gravitated. So, it was no surprise to be woken up by the vocals of hostility. Nonetheless, the fair crowned magi groaned as she lifted her torso up, rising to see the action below. She'd been seated at the edge of the building, her legs having hung over.
"I-I will have it for you i-in the n-next few days, I promise! P-please!"
Below her, in what might constitute as a makeshift alleyway, was a young boy no older than fifteen and a fat balding man with red muttonchops that went on for days. Atop his cranium a tattoo of an eyeball that stared back up at her. He was shoving the boy up against the sheet-metal siding, his forearm pressing into the kids throat.
Ivory leaned over, bothered, and collected spit in her mouth before aiming at the tattoo atop the thugs head. It splat deadcenter the pretend iris, rolling down onto his sunburned forehead.
"W-whert the fuck!?"
When he looked up, to find the sleepy emotionless expression of a white haired woman donning wolf ears, he seemed to of choked on his own spit. Whether out of rage or recognition she didn't know.

Never fun if birds poop on you. The streets of Shale Town? Not as peaceful as her hometown, Rhyolite. Still, there's never a shortage of things happening all around, and that made for interesting days whenever she'd just feel like wandering around aimlessly.[break][break] Cheshire's a fan of many things. Money, booze, good food - well, the basics. She wasn't, however, a fan of bullies. Not especially when they're middle-aged, out of shape and had questionable oral hygiene who felt the need to flaunt their powers over a helpless kid. Before she could respond in kind, it seemed that another individual had already taken matters into their own hands, effectively stopping the heated confrontation by cooling down the top of the scumbag's head. Some people would've actually paid for such a treatment.[break][break] "Ye fuckin' betch, I'll have yer head on me wall!"[break][break] Admittedly, it was a funny sight, seeing someone scrambling to get themselves atop a roof. He climbed, he fell on his ass, and he tried again. Such was the resiliency of humankind at work- until he gave up halfway and resorted to grabbing whatever object within reach and started throwing them at the woman. It started with mostly harmless things like pieces of random scrap wood or tiny pebbles on the ground, but as he got progressively angrier, he began digging for larger materials like shattered bricks, solid metal gears; you name it.[break][break] Seeing this as a prime opportunity to get the kid out of the way, the feline zoomed in, sinking directly into one of the many casted shadows within her vicinity, manifesting only a few inches away from the battle of the century, and pulled the young boy along with her. It was all a quick and silent process, as they'd materialize about ten feet away, still within sight, making this display of her ability kind of unnecessary, but.. why not?[break][break] "Ye wanna fight? Ye don't got the guts ta fight meh!"[break][break] By this point, the thug had ripped out a large metal pipe from the wall of a random structure and had resorted to jumping - actually getting off his feet, even! - and swinging at the wolf-lady. A lot of other bystanders simply chose to ignore his efforts, almost as if this happened on a daily basis and they were more or less used to his antics, unfortunately. Up until the moment of his rage, Ivory had maintained quite the unmoved expression, but as he threatened to have her noggin on his wall she broke into a toothy smirk, openly chuckling at the thought. How funny it was to think he had no idea who he was talking to; that he thought he stood a chance at all. Her entertained reaction to his violent exclaimation seemed to have infuriated the burnt pig even more, for he had began to struggle toward her, his chubby inefficient fingers trying to pull his oversized bottom up the building to fulfill his fantasy of a threat.
Before long Ivory was rolling with laughter, he had fell three times before he changed his strategy of attack. She felt tears edging her eyes, her hand slapping the top of her knee. As he began to chunk things her way, she just kept the laughter rolling, swaying effortlessly away from this and that projectile whilst sitting. Some of her amusement was for show, to inflame him even more - but her eyes showed that a lot of it was genuine.
Throughout it she noted the vaguely familiar shadow magi slip in and out of seemingly nothing, grabbing the boy and moving him from safety through the darkness. It was an impressive stealth; a travel through the shadow realm?
A brick whizzed by her head, distracting her from the casual contemplation of the complexities of shadow magic. Her boisterous guffaw dwindling to a smile, "Oh? I guess I could show you some guts."
The man had broken off some pipe and had began to swing at her. But the her before his eyes would change. Her snowy wolfish towers soon finding their full form as her body morphed into that of a massive white lycan-beast. It dropped in front of him mid swing, the metal pounding into it's powerful chest. All the rage within the man's face had transformed into horror and regret. Ivory's beast form let out a guttural growl, her voice now taken-oven by that of this monster's original vocals, "Your guts, that is."
Her perilously clawed hand reached slowly toward the man's stomach - but he was gone in a heartbeat, the pole in his hand clanking against the ground as he stumbled away in a run. She was sure her nose could smell the scent of piss. Gross.
Turning toward the two witnesses -one the prior victim- the lycan beast showed it's fangs, a supposed smile as one of it's massive paw like hands held up two fingers as a sign of playful victory. Albeit, the form wasn't exactly friendly looking despite the tail which wagged to reveal it's amusement.

Still, on the off chance that it'd escalate into access violence, Cheshire made it a point to shield the kid's eyes, even though he himself pried her hand away and cheered the wolf-lady on. Well, wolf-lady-turned-hulking-giant-wolf-beast complete with eight pack abs. If the threat of a looming lycanthrope wasn't enough to drive the thug away, it'd probably be the abs. It's always the abs.[break][break] After it was all said and done, the kid thanked her and began running up to the bushy-tailed monstrosity, presumably offering his gratitude towards her as well, and repeatedly asked for a high five for whatever reasons. Luckily for the raven-haired feline, she wasn't the star of the show this time around, what with all the attention focused on Ivory. That means she gets to do what she came here for in relative peace - purchasing a freshly cooked, horrendous-looking fish-on-a-stick, to which she'd then take an immediate bite, her expression reflecting that of pure satisfaction.[break][break] She didn't care about the thug, and the whole situation with the kid was just happenstance. A good deed nonetheless, she'd satiate her cravings with food from a stall that was isolated from the other vendors, probably because of the smell. You either hated it or you loved it, and Cheshire absolutely adored the taste, so much so that the old lady selling it likely could've lived off her wages alone.[break][break] Oh, and wolf-lady. They've met somewhere before, right? Maybe. Or maybe she's seen the woman in action, or.. something. Whatever the case, it's not like the guild house is that big, so it's possible they've met but not properly acquainted themselves with one another. As the boy rushed over to thank her, the hulking beast slowly reverted back to normal, but not before giving the boy one full-on wolf palm of a high five. The beast's ears and tail remained on her humanoid form, as per usual - not willingly to let up the charade of matching her Godfather's family even when they weren't around. "No problem, kiddo. Try to stay out trouble, eh? But if he bugs you again, head over to Asgard and ask for Ivory. I'll do more than just scare him next time. Be sure to let him know that."
Once her exchange was finished and the boy as heading off home, to allegedly go tell his friends and family about his good fortune, Ivory would curiously watch as the shadow mage simply went off on her own without so much as a word.
Hmm.. that face.
Oh!
Grinning from ear to ear, Ivory skipped off after her without permission, "I know you! You're the sort of new girl, aren't you? I think Anniken gave you that, 'Mmm' sort of look." She sniffed the air as she spoke, leaning toward the girls' fish on a stick, "Can I have a bite of that?"
The doggish habits of hers was so deeply ingrained from her years as Freki that she forgot she could buy her own food. But why buy food if someone would share? Dog logic was the way to go.

Luckily for him, the passing-by of these two mages meant that there were people who'd willingly step up to help out those in need, unlike the many bystanders who chose to spectate the spectacle. [break][break] The interaction among the two guild members was inevitable, but she clearly didn't expect to have her relationship with the Godfather pointed out to her within a manner of seconds. Had it been that obvious? It's not like she tried hiding it or anything, it's just that she wished to have her efforts acknowledged - at least, more than who she's sleeping with. Or was she simply overthinking things? There wasn't a strict mention of the two being an item, just the look she's been given, right? RIGHT?[break][break] Right.[break][break] Raised eyebrows and all, she blankly stared at the individual before her and reverted her gaze downwards, not even bothering to fish the stick from her mouth as she peered at it. "Eh, why not." Accompanied by the swift, slick up-down motion of her shoulders that most would refer to as a shrug, she'd gladly pass the strange food-stick over to the wolf-lady, not even bothering to offer any warnings whatsoever that this was incredibly fishy, if she couldn't already tell with the scent. Whether or not she'd like it, Cheshire would end up getting another for herself - as well as a nagging reminder at the back of her mind that kept reminding her to get her hands on some mouthwash. She'd keep her eyes on the woman though, intrigued at what a canine's reaction might be to a food preferred by felines. There's a stereotype that dogs tended to eat whatever they could get their hands on. While she hasn't tested the theory on Anniken, this would most definitely be an exciting revelation. "Yeah?!" Eargerly, the take-over magi accepted the stick of fishy goodness. Without a moment's hesitation, her pearly whites chomped down into its firm succulence, tearing the meat off in the manner a starving animal might. Her tastebuds were overwhelmed in the best possible way, and the wolfish tail behind her was dancing to and fro once more, evidence of her pleasure. "Ohh! This is to die for!" She spoke with a mouth half full, careless as to what most people would consider 'polite' or 'attractive' lady-like behavior. In her mind she was nothing more than a beast, just like the ones she took-over.. though notably a bit friendlier than them.
As she chowed down, she'd absently watch Cheshire retrieve another. Thinking to herself as she observed that the apparent shadow mage was quite the pretty woman. Usually, when folks bought food from this particular store, it meant they were on the losing side in some sort of betting contest between friends. The subsequent chomp that they'd be forced to take out of the fish was one that wrenched their guts and would normally elicit a reaction that was, for the most part, fascinating to watch. Cheshire's had the privilege of doing just that, watching someone take their first bite and vomiting within a matter of seconds, all while she stood to a side, enjoying her own skewer, much to their dismay. To have someone else enjoying it - that made her curious, as she's never met a person with canine traits, essentially enjoying what would probably be categorized as cat food. [break][break] "You can have the rest of that." Not that there was a lot of it left, but she already remedied the situation by purchasing another. It was relatively cheap compared to the fresh stuff that seemed to be tailored toward the upper-echelon of financial welfare. [break][break] "Who knows." It appears that the large lycanthrope form wasn't the only thing this woman was capable of morphing into. When those wolfish features began withdrawing in the sense that it looked as though it was being sucked right back into her body, Cheshire could only watch. She wasn't even given a chance to respond before the new appendages sprouted, resembling her very own. These new developments were among the strangest she's seen since leaving her village, and she's seen some shit. Still though, there was something oddly adorable about it. "Thanks!" The fish was gone in no time after that official permission to make it disappear was granted. By time she was taking her last bite the other woman had shrugged off Odin's Spears odd collection of misfits and was comparing her to some old cartoon. Ivory's head titled curiously as she spoke of it, her felid tail swishing casually behind her. "Oh? What was it about? I was never taught how to read, but I've heard those stories in words can be quite fun." She seemed not to of minded the fact of not being as cute as before, as she brushed right by it, her new appendages remaining blissfully there.

"Hmm.." A collection of feel-good stories, huh? Truly, the era that came before the calamity had had it easy, hadn't they? Ivory partially envied it, but alas, she was glad to live in a time where survival was more meaningful exactly because it was harder. Besides, without the harshness, Odin's Spear would of never been created. All the fun cartoon cat stories in the world wouldn't be worth that reality. Or would it? Suppose she would never really know, for better or for worse.
"That sounds utterly pointless! I'd rather be chubby orange cat chowing down on lasagna than read about it. The cat I knew wasn't very chubby though, so the form that belongs to these ears is quite lithe.. But maybe you can help it fatten up one day. We like to eat everything." Grinning, the girl would toss her stripped fish on a stick into a tin can nearby, which was just about to reach the limits of it's brim.
"What is your name anyways? You're the one who came from that other guild, weren't you? The cat one? I don't know Anniken's reasons but, her Eye never lies. You must have some interesting potential. From your shadow step earlier, it sure looks like she wasn't wrong. Impressive magic, I must say! Not as great as mine but, it'll do~" She was teasing, of course, noted by the playful wink that had pursued.

Given her insistence, Ivory decided to play along and help out the girl's vision by reverting back to her customary lupine features. This partial was so often used that people tended to think it was simply her natural appearance, so she couldn't blame Cheshire for being so adamantly against it. Besides, she had to admit, it was nice being compared to Anniken. She and Mercy were the entire reason she maintained the lycan's partial take-over as it was, after all. It was only fitting that the upper ranks of the Family matched, for aesthetics sake, eh?
That was one semi-valid excuse, anyways.
"Chesh, huh? Sounds like a mouthful, I'll settle with C." Ivory would roll her eyes, however, "You don't suck. Anniken has better judgement than to allow someone who 'sucked' into the family. Trust her instincts and you'll progress at surprisingly pace, I'm sure. I know I did when she first brought me in."

Ivory would only inaudibly ponder in response, wondering how someone without confidence spoke so bluntly. She may of replied, even, had she not been abruptly distracted by a food stall she had not yet seen before. So, instead of trying to convince the female to believe in herself, like some sap, she would only focus in on C's commentary about an empty plate. Her verbal reciprocation was accompanied by her skipping ahead, having to talk back as she did so, for her feet were too busy acting like the legs of an excited schoolgirl.
