Although Koji already knew of how William treated those who he could not control, the frank recount in which Sovereign provided still sent shivers coursing down the Exceed's spine. It did the job. The words echoed in his mind. The sheer disregard for life as well as the callousness in which the former Guild Master enacted his orders only increased Koji's conviction and gratefulness that such an evil was stopped before it could do any more harm.
"I am glad you no longer possess them." The Cait Shelter master nodded, although he remained skeptical of the truth in Sovereign's words. Surely someone as power hungry and paranoid as William would not have destroyed such valuable assets. Especially after he descended into madness. Koji suspected that Sovereign was only lying to plant a false sense of security in his mind. But then again, why even bring up the subject of magical items in the first place? The youth was a mystery.
"See to it that you do." His voice hardened when the man asserted his intention to travel a different route to his brother. "Enough lives have been wasted. I would hate to take another." His voice grew soft once more.

He remembers the sound of magic being destroyed, the awful cry that the ethernano made as he watched his brother rend it from golden swords and ancient idols. He remembers the entire basement pulsating with a sickly light, growing weaker and weaker as William continued to destroy the artefacts they had worked hard to acquire. The loss of it all was no lie, for Sovereign saw it with his own eyes. It was also during that time that William attacked Sovereign by mistake, scarring him terribly across his face which he now keeps covered up.
Those items were destroyed, he would never forget that moment.
But to think that William could have hidden another collection somewhere else, away from the safety of the guild and in secret? That made Sovereign uncomfortable, untrustworthy, unsafe.
"Well, I'm very happy we had this conversation. Clearing the air always feels amazing." He stretched, smiling at the exceed, "Don't you agree?"

Koji's head tilted as Sovereign spoke before inclining his head.
"It is fortunate that we were able to be civil this meeting." He agreed, his hard exterior softening once more. "I wish you the best of luck in all your future endeavours." Koji rose to his feet, such that he towered over on the rooftop.
Then, with great sincerity, he added. "I hope that the next time we meet, it will not be as enemies."

'Cleared air?' he thought to himself, lingering on that comment he had just made. Was that really the case here? Sovereign's eyes drifted to one side, wondering if they really had relieved some tension between the guilds or if he had just made Koji even more worried and suspicious.
"Why of course we were civil, I'm not a violent person. And after our discussion, I see you're not either. I'm sorry William drove you to do something you probably didn't enjoy."
Doing a little curtsy, Sovereign grabbed the masses of fabric that basically flowed down like a gown and lifted them up as he did so. With a smile and wave shortly after, he would turn and begin to walk off into the town reclaimed by nature. "Speak to you soon!" He chimed, though of course it was just a figure of speech, and Sovereign hoped he would not be interacting with Koji any time soon.

There was no doubt about it: Quatro Cerberus guild master was creepy. But Koji would be damned if he ever showed the level of unease at which the youth put him at. Within a flash, the man had disappeared as soon as he had come, leaving Koji in the dust on how exactly to react to the whole experience.
At length, he finally sat back down onto the roof and closed his eye. Crossing his legs, he placed his paws onto his lap and tried to find peace again as he meditated.
