She pressed her ear near the hut's makeshift door. Her eyes searched sightlessly as she attempted to seize audio of something outside.BANG!
A start clutched her heart, bringing her own hand to her chest. She grabbed the hand of the young child nearby and when reaching a window, climbed outside. She turned around and helped her son out of the home and then she started to run.
From the corner of her vision, she caught sight of the creatures hellbent on breaking their way into their home. They were bears.
Angry blue bears.
Panting – panicked panting as she ran, her son on her back. His weight ate at her stamina, but her pace was quicker with it than with the two running separately.
