what the fish?! [closed/mission]

While fishing could be a calming experience by some...it was not exactly what Kasumi would have preferred as a method of passing time. More often than not the fish smells, the bait is gross and it takes too long to catch anything that's worthy of fishing. Her partner however was more than enthusiastic for this sort of job.

"Not really. Though we do seem to be meeting each other more regularly Mr Prima." Kasumi replied as she walked on over towards his side. This guy got almost everything associated for fishing...fishing rod..sunglasses..drinks...heck, she would not have guess he was a mage based on his choice for outfit. Fishing really suits him to a T.

"So what are you going to use as a bait? Some sort of small animal? A homunculus maybe?"Kasumi asked as she looked around. Of course those would be what she would bring if she was in charge of this mission. However, she had a feeling that Orion would say no to all of her guesses.

"...yes, like worms but bigger. We are trying to catch a giant fish no?"

Ignoring his question about caring to fish with him, not that she had any choice at this moment of time, Kasumi looked at the fishing rod he held dubiously. While Kasumi didn't know much about fishing herself but at the same time, she didn't think a bait the size of the worm would be enough to lure the creature that attacked the local fisherman. Perhaps he meant to be the lure himself...well, he does use long range lightning magic. If there's anyone more suited to fighting the local sea monster it would have been. But still...

"...are you sure about this?"she asked, looking at the boat dubiously. The thing barely looked like it will stay afloat on the water. While she didn't expect him to get anything fancy, it felt like he had gone for the cheapest thing possible to rent. The only thing it would be better against would be a handmade raft.

"Nevermind, let's just get this over with."she exhaled, not wanting to waste time any further as she make her way towards the boat. Perhaps Orion had a lot of experience as a fisherman. In which case it would be better to simply trust him on this.

Kasumi nodded as she began adjusting her seating on the board. It had been a while since she actually rode one so it took her some time to get used to the rocking of the water craft. Her brow creased slightly as she noticed that it required rowing on their part for the boat to travel anywhere. Catching the six pack, she took one out for herself but didn't actually drink it yet.

"Once. I'm afraid I'm not very good at it."Her own eyes would skim over the clear water surface for any signs of their prey.

"I didn't live near the water source so I usually buy my fishes from the market and if I do need to search for food, I'd usually hunt them on land. Never really had time to get good at it." she explained as she watched Orion hooked the bait onto the fishing pole. While mage really have to be a jack of all trade...for Kasumi, fishing skills were one that she considered to be less necessary than other survival skills she had acquired.

The serene atmosphere made it hard for Kasumi to think they were on mission which usually involved threats of sorts. From bandits to polar bears, she always had to keep her eyes peeled for unexpected danger. Her head did nod in agreement to Orion's word on how fishing could be quite relaxing. Even though she would hesitate to pick up the hobby again, if there was a reason to do so it would definitely be for the relaxation in between.

"I've been training, yes. If we spar next time, I shall show you how much I've improved since we last meet."

The last time she had sparred with him he had taken 5 of her blows before unleashing one of his own and even blowing her away in the process. While she still have some strength back then, she had forfeited as she felt she could only withstand perhaps 2 or so blows from him at most.

"What about you? How goes your preparation against the Almighty spirit?"

It was a name that she had made up for the spot for the deity that Orion had feared greatly last time, one that can take on his godslaying magic without as much as a scratch. Her mind wondered if Orion was still worried for whenever that deity will show up once more.

"Of course. You need only tell me when."

The thought that Orion had improve himself as well was slightly daunting...but at the same time, it also meant that he had taken her advise to heart. Her head would swiftly turned to the fishing rod as well when it twitched. Lucky for her, she didn't really look forward to wait for hours in the middle of the ocean.

"You don't need to worry about that. Besides, I would require more evidence than the rambling of a drunk anyway."

Kasumi smirked slightly in response though secretly she was trying to look into the evidence of such being herself. Afterall, many religions predicted the end of days and this being could very well be the one those religions and prophecies of the like foretold. Her thought was interrupted when Orion asked upon her guild affiliation and at first she didn't reply immediately. She knew that certain mage would view their guild in poor light given the actions they took. Still, it was not as if she didn't trust Orion at all. Just a tiny bit less than her guildmates.

"Nor did you tell me yours. I'm from Odin's Spear. Perhaps you have heard of it?"

"Cheshire hm?"

Now that was a name she didn't expect to hear from Orion. The girl was friendly enough the last time they meet during a mission but something had happened in that make things a whole lot awkward in it. She can't help but glance at Orion, wondering if they just happened to work together on that particular mission or if they had been friends together. Orion continue to surprise her again but this time, it was the knowledge of a tournament held between Odin's Spear. He was even thoughtful enough to propose a spar to her which she was raring to have anyway.

"Well, I suppose I could use a sparring partner. More importantly.."she paused, raising her indext finger to the where the water surface looked a slight shade darker than the rest. If not for her enhanced eyes, she would have definitely missed it.

"Is that what I think it is...?"

Orion raised his finger to hush which Kasumi immediately abide. Despite her doubts about this method earlier, it had actually worked much to her surprise. Kasumi gave him a slight nod in response, cracking her knuckle as she prepared herself. She would have to control her attack enough that it would get knocked out in one hit and onto somewhere they can pick it up easily. Otherwise, it would be long hours of searching the corpse of a dead giant eel or even worst, it could have survive and flee.

Dipping into her pool of reservoir, Kasumi began to channel energy into her fist. So much so to the point that it was glowing through the glove. Her eyes were enhanced as well so as to activate the dynamic vision. If there's only one chance at this and she wanted to make it count.
