Blushing Orchid(Social|Closed)

Putting the final additions on a page in one of her journals, Berry put down her pen and exhaled. Though these mundane tasks pertaining to investigating different plants for their uses in medicine proved fruitful for the settlement, she found the endeavour droll after doing it for such a long period of time over the span of her life. Ever the studious individual, she aspired to keep the good folk in the town and guild in peak condition. But she hardly ever had time to herself.

Flecks of relief sprung into her heterochromatic eyes as she heard a knock on the door. It seemed that she managed to finish on time before she owed her attendance to the bar alongside Kasumi. Without further ado, she made her way over to the door and answered.

Revealed to be in casual wear herself, she donned a red shirt, an unzippered black hoodie and a navy-blue skirt. Her legs ended in a pair of dark, fur-trimmed brown boots. Presenting her with her signature charm through a smile, she tilted her head to the side.

”Hello, Kassie. Your punctuality flatters me.”

Kasumi Ito | Post 1 | Appearance

”Oh, no. Do not fret, you have arrived right on time. I just finished writing the latest page in my journal regarding a few medical findings.”

After dispelling any beliefs that she had been still occupied with a task, and hopefully diffusing any concerns she might have had associated with it, her heterochromatic eyes continued to watch Kasumi. Sharing the sentiment, she felt that she looked endearing for the occasion. Oh, how she could hardly wait to get handsy later on in the evening depending on how well she played her metaphorical cards.

”Thank you. I’m very fond of yours, too. I think I would enjoy seeing you in this manner of clothing more often, Kassie,” she said softly, the enthusiasm apparent in her eyes. Not wanting to dally, she closed the door behind her and locked up. Once concluding that process, she followed alongside the purple-haired woman while she led them in the direction of the bar.

In passing, she wondered what her tolerance for alcohol was like.

There were two sides to the loud heartbeat for Berry. Since she was a vampire, she could hear it with clarity. Her kind was often more sensitive to it because it was their sustenance. One part of her mind remarked about how endearing it was that she managed to make her this jittery over their rendezvous. The other part of her mind marvelled at how delicious it would be if she was able to sample her blood—but as tasty as it sounded, she would never bring herself to do that to an innocent person. Especially not an ally, friend, and probably something more in the future.

Still, she swallowed down pent up saliva.

Witnessing a large amount of people, having free entry and being prioritized was not a rare occurrence or something she was unused to. Being a member of the family, there were significant privileges.

”I shall have a Bloody Mary. Oh, how very cliché,” she remarked, taking a seat next to Kasumi and resting her elbows on the platform in front of them. Cushioning her chin with her interlocked fingers, she shifted her attention toward her.

”Me? Well, I am a doctor, and a healer. Also, I enjoy books, reading, writing, flowers, painting and different forms of art. Classical music. I also am on a crusade to rid this world of as much evil as I can,” she said, giving the gist of it. ”I am also a dragon slayer, and a vampire, as I’m sure you’ve noticed. You?”

Flecks of amusement surfaced in her eyes while she listened to Kasumi speak, especially with her last comment. Had she been oblivious to the world and living under a rock, the joke might have gone overhead. One would be hard pressed to find a person in the world ignorant to the staple vampire weakness in storybooks and other fabricated tales.

”I have no distinct allergies, but I may not be as appreciative of the joke if I find it in my stew,” she answered. Admittedly, though she owed her ancestry to vampirism she seemed to have only appeared in this form recently. Many people failed to recognize her when she made her way back from that mission.

”Honestly, my vampire blood remained dormant until I was finally exposed to conflict revolving around living things than the zombie menace we finished dealing with. I was not sired; I was just born this way because my parents happen to be. I do have a fondness for blood, but I would never, nor would I forgive myself, if I somehow drank the blood of an unwilling, innocent person,” the doctor explained, gauging the woman’s reaction.

”Hmmm…”

Kasumi said interesting things. If she understood those obvious implications, she referred to herself regarding “the blood of a willing woman.” After her vocalized pondering, she picked up her glass and started to nurse her drink. Admittedly, she had her doubts about whether alcohol affected her body anymore based on her physiology. However, her studies brought her to the conclusion that she still might be capable of intoxication through a certain method.

”No, I have no qualms against it. I don’t see why not. I can control my urges that I wouldn’t suck you dry, after all, and if you’re volunteering I might even be able to get drunk tonight,” she said, lips curling into a smile. ”Willing people and people who deserve to be removed from the planet, that is how I intend to survive. If I ever go into a starvation state and lash out at anyone, I ask you to stop me. It shouldn’t be difficult—it’s not like my Magic is offensive to any degree.”

Oh, good. She had a feeling the woman might have misinterpreted her to an extent if she thought she meant literally execute her in that case, because subduing and getting her a more reliable source of blood would work wonders instead. However, if there was no other choice and she was going berserk—then it probably would have been less painful to just die than endure agony comparable to a century of torture in Hell at once.

The fact that Kasumi thought her blood might taste bad was both amusing and endearing. After another sip of the drink which carried no nutritional or inebriating value to her, she leaned closer. Appreciative of the loosening of the woman’s garb, she brought her face closer to her neck. Inhaling, she drank in the scent of her blood. No, she knew that did not smell like a cheap swill—that was a very pleasant aroma. Unlike the criminals she drank dry awhile ago.

”No, it smells divine. I reckon if I were to drink it, I may get a little buzz going.”

”Inviting a vampire in, hm? I will graciously accept your offer.”

Granted the permission she desired, she initiated the gesture by brushing soft lips against Kasumi’s neck. Choosing to tease her foremost, allowing her breath to continuously collide with supple skin than diving immediately into it. The more he waited, the greater the sense of anticipation. With it her appetite for blood increased, but she knew she had the resolve to break it off before she drained more than a mouthful or two. Humans only had so much blood in their body, after all.

Giving it a brief kiss, her saliva seemed to carry a minor numbing agent within it to free the process of pain. It was common for her kind to have such a mechanism, because it increased the likelihood of people donating blood to them if it did not cause agony. Following that motion, she opened her mouth and sunk her fangs into her neck. Avoiding critical arteries or places that would cause significant damage, she drank several mouthfuls of blood before pulling away. A sigh of relief followed, and then she mended the wound with her healing Magic.

”Mmm, truly amazing…”
