"You ready, Mercy dear?"
Ivory had decided to test Mercy's mettle. After the birthday party, she realized the girl was old enough to fend for herself. Yet, through her own over-protectiveness, had not really understood the value of Mercy's magic. Was it offensively amazing? Defensively sound? More suited to support? She honestly had no idea. She'd seen the girls' spirits at work, during the Mother of Shitbrains war, but they had not seemed to be particularly.. powerful. But, Mercy was a Godfrey: she had to of had a capacity for excelling in some area of combat, even if it wasn't "fire power."
She shifted into the demon form she so loved, and, with a devilish tail sensually swaying behind her, she'd lift a hand and issue the young Godfrey a bring it on gesture.

To demonstrate her point, the teenager slashed her most prized possession, and Anniken's gift, through the air – a Golden Key engraved with an ouroboros – and unlocked the Gate between dimensions. A massive purple magic seal appeared in front of her.

A freight train sized serpent flew out of the Gate and unhinged its maul, ready to consume Ivory in a single gulp.

"I know you were." She grinned, taking the younger mages words with a level of profundity that Mercy herself might not of even realized. As a Godfrey, though, Mercy had literally been born ready; ready for greatness. She hoped this day would unravel more of that potential's understanding, too..
As Mercy slashed her key, opening the thirteenth Zodiac gate, she'd only smile in the face of the basilisk that shot toward her. She didn't move, nor defend. She'd only let the thing bite into her, her entire torso taken by the thing's mouth. It'd pick her up and throw her for good measure, and she'd fly from it's giant maw and into the sky. Her wings caught her, though, and she'd steady to face the pair on the ground.
"Not bad. But.." She glanced at her own body, and not a single drop of blood was there. Bruised, yes, but no skin piercing. As she had suspected: the girl's spirits lacked firepower.
Hmm.
As she debated on whether or not to attack the girl full force, she'd fire a lazy blast with her palm, aiming it Mercy rather than at the basilisk. She hoped the snake would protect her, though, of course, but that was also apart of the evaluation: whether or not Mercy's physical vulnerability was a problem that needed to be worked on or not.

Mercy grinned as the serpent captured Ivory in its massive jaws and flung her away. "Nice work, Jörmungandr." She said, her tail wagging from side to side in glee.

From the distance in the sky, Mercy was unable to discern the fact that Ivory was more or less intact from the attack. She was, however, able to see the magical blast sailing back down towards her.

The huldra attempted to evade the attack but was a heart beat too slow, instead she was only able to block her head using her forearms, which upon contact with the magical blast seared with pain. But although the pain was intense, Mercy did not cry out. Instead, gritting her teeth, she shouted out, "Get her Jörm'!"

The world serpent would proceed to fly upward from the ground and try to snap its jaws around Ivory again.

Oh... the spirit didn't guard Mercy. Her eyes narrowed as the serpent flew toward her, aggravated that it hadn't tried to block Mercy from her blast. When its jaws came to a close, she'd thrown her fist into it's mouth, hoping that once it bit down it wouldn't try to let go. With a surge of magic flooding her wings, she held herself and the spirit suspended in the sky despite it's massive form dangling from her much smaller one. "Jörmungandr, you didn't protect Mercy, are you too mindless to protect your charge without her command? Pitiful. Against an enemy she could have died."
With their proximity, Mercy would not hear what snarled words she'd shared with the baskilisk. But what she would hear -- in swift pursuit of those unheard words -- was a grotesque blast that echo'd from inside the serpents mouth.

Mercy held a hand to shield her eyes against the glare of the sunlight as she squinted up at the sky. What was happening? It was hard to tell. It looked at least like her newest Spirit was able to snap its jaws around Ivory's hand. Mercy hoped that the serpent didn't actually bite down hard enough to sever the woman's hand. The last thing they needed was a repeat of Tyr's sacrifice.

What was clear, however, was the thunderous explosion that resounded from the Spirit's mouth. A hissing shriek of pain emanated from the snake as it finally reopened its jaws to reveal a horribly mutilated and burned mouth.

Whether or not it was in retaliation or in anger, the reason wasn't clear, but Jörmungandr moved to twist its massive body around Ivory with the intention of constricting her like a python.

"You mad? Maybe you should learn to be more useful so I wouldn't have need to insult you." Her words squeezed out with a breathy layer as her body was constricted with the creature's retaliating squeeze. If she let it hold her for too much longer, she knew her breath would cease being able to push outward.
The whole of her body would begin to glow as she funneled her magic over every inch of her skin, turning the lilac tone of demonness flesh to something uncannily crimson - almost lava-like. As the thing grasped her even tighter, she'd expel her built up magic, hoping to explode the spirit away from her.

Due to the pain, Jörmungandr's constriction on Ivory slackened at first as her demon flesh burned lava-like crimson. But as the demon soul'd woman expelled her magic, the serpent's entire body unfurled itself and was tossed through the air in the aftermath shockwave of Ivory's magical explosion.

"Tch." Mercy swiped her Golden Key through the air and closed the Gate of the Snake with an almost idle flick of the wrist. The Zodiac disappeared in a shimmer of golden sparkles. It was replaced with a Silver Key.

"Open the Gate of the Valkyrie! Sigrdrífa!"

An armoured warrior charged out of the subsequent magic circle on horseback. Today, it's steed was sported a pair of black wings to match its shimmering ebony coat. But the Valkyrie was yet to fly. Instead, it cast its gaze upward, only a pair of gleaming golden eyes visible through the slits in its steel helmet, and tossed it's glowing magical spear skyward, aiming for Ivory.

The serpent could not hold out against the expulsion of her energy and as consequence it flung away in a wild manner, unable to tame it's own shape. Mercy appeared frustrated by it, as per her swift dismissal of it while it was still flinging.
Another gate opened, this one bearing a warrior on an ebony steed. The steed appeared to be like her own pegasus form, minus the fiery accents. It's rider wasted no time in tossing a spear her way and Ivory would smile as she replied to that toss with a forward action, flying straight for it. With her momentum built up from the downward thrust, she'd shift mid air, turning back into her normal form, which caused the spear's aim to be off. Instead of going through her shoulder like it would have, it simply scraped by it, ripping the top of her coat and drawing a mere trickle of blood.
She was still "flying" at the angle the demonness had started her off on, and would shift again, this time into a large lycan beast which attempted to land on the unarmed valkyrie and bite into her throat.

Ivory's canine form looked a whole lot more ferocious than Mercy's own canine Spirit, Fenrir. The lycan beast sunk its jaws into Sigrdrífa's throat, causing thick golden ichor to burst forth from the major arteries around the Spirit's neck.

Mercy curled her fists into balls as she watched.

"Get a grip on yourself Sigrdrífa!" She ordered, unempathetic towards the agony the Spirit was undoubtably experiencing.

Obedient as ever however, Sigrdrífa would use Ivory's proximity to grab onto the mage with both arms and to proceed to tackle from horseback to the ground.

Mercy was not pleased. But her spirit listened obediently nonetheless, evidently more intelligent than the basilisk she'd had out earlier. It, Sigrdrífa, was much stronger than she had anticipated, as it forced her lycan form to the ground with apparent ease.
With a growl, mounted by the humanoid Valkyrie, Ivory would return it's roughness with more of her own, her fangs and claws digging into the thing even more, her mouth never having let go of her throat while her finger'd appendages went at work into the woman's back.

Given that the Valkyrie wore steel plated armour, not even Ivory's finger'd appendages could pierce the metal. Although the tackle was successful, it was evident that the pain in her throat was getting to Sigrdrífa. Still, the Spirit attempted to headbutt Ivory's lycan cranium with its metal helm.

Unaffected by the headbutt and kick due to sheer hardheadedness, Ivory would simply pound her wolven fists on the helmet'd valkyrie. Meanwhile, she'd casually say, "I don't know if its' such a good idea for you to get so close to an opponent. I could've bit your foot off for good measure had I wanted to~"

"Well that's just plain rude." Mercy remarked with an exaggerated huff but heeded the advice, taking swift steps back from those particularly deadly jaws. Truth be told, she hadn't expected her kick to affect Ivory, regardless of however satisfying it would have been.

She frowned as the lycan pounded against the Spirit, denting its helmet with concave structures. Her backward steps had taken her towards the valkyrie's spear, which was laying on the ground from the earlier toss. Seizing upon the opportunity, Mercy grabbed the weapon and would attempt to charge towards Ivory with the attention of driving it into the lycan's skull - oblivious to (but more likely ignoring) the fact that she might injure Sigrdrífa in the process.

Whether or not the spear was made of ethernano or not, it still snapped in her jaws when she looked up in time to catch it before it rammed into her skull. It's spear head breaking off with the chomp.
In order to reiterate her lesson: Ivory jumped from the pinned spirit and out toward Mercy, attempting to tackle her to the ground, her claws threatening to pierce into her flesh.
