70 AC, a mission ft. Natalie

“Yeah, wouldn't that be great...” Bandit could not help but add a flavour of biting sarcasm to the hushed utterance he nigh spat. The idea of being assaulted by re-animated skeletons was very much in line with what his luck brought him on a daily basis.
“Heh,” Bandit began at the conclusion of her thought. “That's assumin' the missing piece is like brand new.” Bandit held the piece up for her to see. There were definite hints of time-weathering and the portion it fastened to – it did not look broken off, simply... broken from wear and tare.
“Don't even know what he can do with this,” he said, staring at the leg. He lowered it and started to make his way out. He glanced back, half-expecting some large beast to appear. When was he ever able to walk out of a place like that with a treasure without that happening?
“...first time for everything,” he muttered.

What Almost Was, a mission ft. Kin
Sept 30, 2019 23:53:59 GMT

“Fools...” He shook is head, black hair pushed aside after daring to fall before his burning, sapphire eyes. Ire burbled in the pit of his stomach. The man wanted to pound his fist through the siding of the adjacent building. However, that was unbecoming. He released a huff, a short, amused chuckle – a chortle, and did so with his eyes closed.
The origins of his frustrations and amusement was his wish to confront a particular breast. However, he was unable to rally anybody to accompany him. They contrasted with his persona too starkly. However, after he gathered himself, he moved towards the city's main entrance.
“...Hmph!” He smirked, catching sight of a creature he assumed sentient, but on a lesser standing than himself. After all, they were not even human.
“Creature there...” he greeted. “I require a party for I wish to slay--”
The azeban walked right by without a word. The man shook his head and with a flick of his wrist, allowed a blue flame to erupted before the beastkin. He stopped and slowly turned his attention to the spell's caster.
“Do not ignore me. I will make an exchange of the monetary variety. You have abilities, no?”
He sighed. Just a sigh and approached.
“I hope you're stinkin' rich...” Bandit muttered.

“Understandable. Pants are dumb,” he replied. It was his final comment before his focus was forced towards the gaping, elongated maw that was the creature terrorizing the river.
“...Holy Zeus level of FUCK--” And then the beast swept by where Bandit once stood in an instant. It reeled its head up to allow gravity to do most of the swallowing for it, but meet the heel of Bandit instead. Its head was forced into whatever semblance of neck it may or may not have had. How and when Bandit got above it to deliver some variety of axe kick was difficult to tell.
It roared and with its fangs bared, Bandit took hold of them on the way down and broke them off. “Gimmie those,” he spat as he landed back in the water. His form distorted and blurred from where he landed to about four yards back. He eyed the fangs quickly pushed them into the bag at his back.
“Gonna be usin' those!” he exclaimed.

A grumble followed mention of not being bitten by the bats, at the very least. It was a vain effort to mention anything of the brighter side of things to the irascible azeban.
“Yeah,” Bandit nearly interrupted, cutting in on 'marks.' “He didn't have a scratch on 'em. Those marks were tattoos.” Bandit gave her an auditing glance before turning his gaze to the forefront.
“I can see well enough in here,” he answered as he continued pushing forward. It was not the largest enclave and ahead, a pile of stone and a small puddle of light from the cracked, stony ceiling lit its approximate center. When Bandit approached, he saw something poking out of the stone and beside it, a skeleton belonging to some variety of creature.
“Huh...” Bandit halfhearted pulled the missing leg out. He did not speak for a moment for what conversation ensued was within his mind, self-directed. “Maybe something just took it while the kid was asleep? Some animals like shiny things.” His tone became almost defensive by the end of that sentence.
“But then... wait, that can't be it then. This thing's long dead.”

“So, you comfortable with anyone taggin' along for that venture yer planin'?” He asked. At that point, they were close to the not-so-sought-after river. Bandit came to an abrupt halt and simply stared at its shimmering surface.
“I'm taking my pants off,” he declared without a semblance of abashment. He did just that, but of course possessed some variety of undergarment. He walked down the grassy slop and directly into the water. Not a shred of hesitance seemed to delay him.
After looking down the river at both of his respective sides and catching glimpse of nothing, he extended his hand. He drew his fingers in, all but the index and threatened it with the claw of his other hand. However, nothing happened. He did not move, but despite that, blood trickled from his extended finger regardless.
He did move – just with such speed that it did not appear he struck his finger at all.
The blood dripped into the water around him and he waited.
“Welp, time for shit to hit the fan knowing my luck.”

The stranger looked upon the both of them as they moved away. It was a persistent stare. Bandit allowed a glance to fall over his shoulder back towards him just for an instant, just to confirm his golden eyes still refused to let them out of their sight.
"...Creepy..." Bandit muttered to himself in a hush. It was amidst Natalie's own statement and right after, Bandit offered a response to it regardless of its patency. "Yeah. Won't take long." It was brief. One would think he had more to say.
He did.
However, those were thoughts echoed to himself in the safety of his own mind. While some concerned the oddity of that boy, others were relevant to what may lurk in the cavern.
"I'm pretty sure something's in there," he began before thinking briefly on Natalie's idea. "Maybe - that makes some sense. It would explain why he wants somebody else to go in there, eh?" Though, that was far from the impression he got from the boy.
Immediate bats.
As Bandit approached the entrance, they flew out abruptly in a screeching cloud of black. Bandit yelped and quickly gathered himself with an angry, low growl. He was mumbling something and ended the mumble by exclaiming, "BATS!!" He angrily walked inside, entering the shade it had to offer. The afternoon's light was forcibly left at the door.

Actually, if you have any suggestions, I'd gladly take them and fashion it into something. I didn't have an idea in mind. I was just going to create something hopefully interesting X)

MISSION NAME: My Leg! CLIENT: ??? CHARACTERS: Natalie Chevalier Notorious B.I.G. MISSION BRIEFING: A client needs help with finding his leg.
Bandit happened upon a youth. He had a caramel complexion, black hair, golden eyes, no shirt but strange, red markings on his cheeks and sides of his torso. It was an adorable child with a metallic helmet and robotic... arms and legs?
Well, one leg was missing and as Bandit happened upon the boy sitting on the ground, the boy instantly looked his way. Bandit stopped in his tracks, seemingly stripped of the ability to verbalize and kind of response and he knew not why.
“Hello,” the boy said with a wave of one of the arms.
“Uh – who are you?”
“Hm. I'll get back to you on that, okay?” He looked away and down towards the missing leg. Then, he looked towards a nearby cavern sitting within a wooded area – the same they all were currently in.
“I think my leg is in there,” he stated matter-of-factly. “Can you go find it for me?”
Now at this, Bandit started to laugh. A favour? For some weird stranger-of-a kid? But when he caught sight of an intense stare, the contents of which were indescribable, he immediately stopped.
“...As long as there's a reward for me,” he said as he turned and beckoned Natalie Chevalier to follow. They were both there on another task, but it seemed this one took priority.

Lol - so I'd just tie them together with a mission right off the bat. He will complete it no matter what, so he wouldn't bounce or anything. Would that be cool?

There's Always a Price... a mission ft. jerusalem
Sept 28, 2019 23:07:44 GMT
edited on Sept 28, 2019 23:08:07 GMT by Notorious B.I.G.
Certainly, Bandit had yet to offer any expression to Jerusalem outside of apathy, mild curiosity – and that's about it. However, the conclusion of her explanation of her powers – an offer to embark upon him the experience of watching somebody burn alive – the common response would be to reel back in alarm, disgust, or perhaps a blend of the two. Another may be to mutter profanity under one's breath in shock and awe.
For Bandit, the corners of his mouth curled upwards in amusement. The impossibly-flexible maw expressed itself just as well as a human's could, seemingly, and it was likely the first time Jerusalem was able to catch it.
“I'd like that,” he said with a sneer.
Was he a good guy? No. Was he a bad guy? Not really. He was somebody who wanted to gain something out of the effort he put forth.
“I imagine it would!” Laughter acted as an introduction to his reply. He was aware of what Napalm was. He was too twisted to not. However, just thinking about it as something summonable through magic; not even his soul was perverted enough to produce such a thing.
“You must be as popular as me if that's the kinda power you wield!”

“Oh, handy,” he replied. “I kinda wish I had abilities like that; but then I'd be tempted into makin' things a lot harder for myself by fryin' people who annoy me.”
Many did not agree with the things he had to say and shied away from bothering with him at all. He dealt with a lot of alienation, of just out-right being ignored and grew used to it – but this girl here was beginning to spoil him by listening to him and actually replying.
He found he was learning something new everyday.
“I figured I'd just've stayed in the village – forcibly – until they paid me. They'd get right sick of me in no time and tryin' to do anything to me while sleepin'? Hah. Let's just say I'm one hell of a light sleeper.”
Subtle, but the soundings of rushing water started to peek into their perceptions. Casting an eye forward, inklings of the river appeared within sight.

“Ah – yes, right,” he replied immediately following the clarification of her identity. He did so in such a manner to suggest that a flash of realization dawned upon him.
It did not. He knew not who it was; but now did, in fact, know. The use of 'yes' was a dead giveaway to those who knew him. Nobody knew him, though.
He supposed a talking raccoon was a more difficult thing to forget – so she possessed the clear advantage there.
“Right, that's me,” he replied. For some reason, snide comments just failed to come to mind and fell infinitely short of his tongue. It left him nigh physically thirsty.
“Uh -” He paused with an obvious desire to say something, but nothing followed – at least, nothing relevant to what was on his mind. He cleared his throat and revived his steps.
“Gotta get to that river. I doubt I'll need to do much tracking since I have an idea already. Probably won't end up givin' 'em all enough time to coax whoever they need to into giving me my pay.
“Wanna tag along?” he asked while casting a look over his shoulder.

There's Always a Price... a mission ft. jerusalem

Somebody had eyes on him – in fact, they still did; but despite that and without missing a beat, he replied regardless.
“They could be savin' up to buy their starvin' grandma-ma a piece a bread. It's no concern of mine,” he interjected after her introductory line.
It was strange. She did not feel hostility from the girl. In fact, he did not sense anything from her. Getting a feel for her was less like feeling something and more like feeling a lack of something. How familiar.
“Yeah, I'm sure they can afford it.” He paused, both in word and stride and turned his head towards Jerusalem. Something was actually quite familiar about her.
“I've met you somewhere? Or...” he started, trailing off to give opportunity for a response. People normally did not talk to him; but this one was and that fact alone was enough to stop him in his tracks. Priority shifted to gathering an inkling of who this was – but he felt he should know. It was a slightly irksome feeling.
