MISSION BRIEFING: A young girl with explosive powers beyond her control has wreaked havoc in a nearby town, accidentally killing dozens. Now on the run, other's are trying to find her to bring her back home and help correct her. It's up to you to locate the girl and decide her fate. If too dangerous, exterminate her to prevent this from happening again, or capture her and bring her back to the guild. Be discreet about it.
Discreet. Discreet. Discreet. That was the order of the day, recently. Hounds were to be on a lease, and the common folk could not learn exactly who was doing their dirty work...and Kaida understood, she did!
She just didn't know how she was to keep this discreet.
A gasping hole yawned in front of her, as if in laughter. The scent of flame and ash clung to her nose, even with her mask up. The girl was here, no doubt, and making it easy to track her.
But discreet. Discreet. Discreet...

Kaida's head spun only a moment longer. Didn't matter if she figured out what was discreet here, she figured, if she was found out here. She could figure it out as she went. Good idea? Maybe, she liked it.
She leaned down by the scorch marks, claws rubbing at them slightly as if to dig up some clue. The sewers did not make it easy to investigate in her manner, but smoke was rather difficult to mistake, she only needed to get close enough to find the girl when she no doubt had another explosion.
Kaida's throat burned at the overwhelming stink, but she had it. Down a narrow tunnel, where it appeared some people had been staying...discarded food splattered in already dirty sewer water, and Kaida crawled around it, feeling she'd never get it off if she was dirtied.
People were nearby, she had to be discreet. What if they were trying to defend her? Discreet simply meant nobody had to know her alliances, correct? She had to take care of this, fast, before the girl met more people.

Fast was easier said than done. Call Kaida an animal, nearly crawling forward, but that meant she was distinctly aware of how dirty everything was. She didn't want to touch the ground...she barely wanted to touch the walls!
This had to be important, this girl was a danger unnaturally. She had to be caught. Under here, she might possibly even collapse a tunnel!
Resolved, Kaida took a step forward...and startled as voices started coming towards her! "I don't think ya wanna be here, girl, ever heard of Port Boulder? Reckon they'd appreciate those flames ya make!" A deep voiced man, in the dark of the sewers, Kaida couldn't see them as they approached, but she knew they were getting closer, and an idea hatched in a hunter mind.
Her legs pushed her up a slippery wall, leaving to cling to the curved ceiling, just out of sight, hunting.

Predictably, they passed right underneath her, and the scent of flame followed them. The girl, and a man Kaida concluded was human. Good. This was easier, then.
Just as they were about to disappear down the tunnel, Kaida released her claws and alighted upon the ground. They didn't hear.
To be discreet, she couldn't kill the man, correct? Too obvious. She just had to ensure he couldn't follow her once she got the girl, nor ever saw her.
Light swirled in her throat as their backs grew ever closer. She had an easy idea...

The next few seconds passed by in a blur.
Kaida sprung forward, filling the tunnel with the sound of fast footsteps, more beast than human. As hoped, the man and the girl turned in terror of some horrible monster, likely not even seeing her as a person.
Pop!
The underwhelming sound signaled her magic exploding out of her throat, filling the dim tunnel with blinding light. Even her own eyes burned at the sudden agitation, the man was certainly blinded. His shape failed, and she lunged forward, twisting so her tail slammed into him, cracking him against the wall. He did not get up.
Now, the girl. Who was currently flailing in a similar state, with one key difference. Her skin was glowing a bright red, that only got brighter as she shrieked in terror.
Uh-oh.

The girl was going to explode again.
So, in turn, Kaida was either going to die or this girl would kill this man, and this mission would no longer be hidden from eyes anymore. Neither option was enviable at the moment. Dragons above! The last thing Quatro Cerberus needed was news that they had eliminated a girl for being too dangerous!
"Stop!" What was she doing!? Nevermind, the girl jerked a head towards her, panting desperately, but her skin dimmed slightly, "I...am not your enemy...didn't mean to catch you in my magic." Kaida felt calmer than she thought she could be, "I am here to help you...not hurt."
Lies came easy to one that hunted, it was kinder to the prey too.

Lying came easily to Kaida, but perhaps it wasn't very believable, the girl still appeared as frightened as ever, even if she wasn't in danger of blowing them and the tunnel to kingdom come. Still, she had started with this solution, and Kaida was going to stick with it. She didn't fail for her pack. "The man...I was only trying to hurt the man." Now this seemed to catch the girl's attention, and she stepped away from the unconscious human, "W-why, what was going to happen!?"
Kaida's mind raced with thoughts of the various horrors that could happen in this world, and she shrugged, as if the answer was obvious, "Slaver...or murderer, he smells like blood." Lies, complete lies, the man just smelled like everything else down here, rot and sewer water. Still, even if the man was innocent, the girl didn't need to know. By now her skin had almost completely faded, and she leveled an unbelieving but scared look at the man, "But...he was really nice, he even told me I could use this magic where he was taking me." And Kaida nodded, "Yes. He never said it'd be willing work. I think most humans will treat your power like a use to them...I know, I'm not human, see? Let's go, monsters won't use you. Its safe in outside, long as you're powerful."
Her clawed hand was extended, and the girl flinched back, tearing up...then laid her hand in Kaida's. She was tiny, Kaida realized, like prey.

With the girl already trusting her, there was only one last thing that needed to be done. The girl was a danger, and Kaida had a first hand view of it. She was frightened easily, and her magic activated when she was frightened. Magic that was uncontrollable was dangerous, to everyone, even the girl. Though Kaida had lied, she didn't doubt for a moment that any slaver or evil would love to have this girl in their clutches. Humans and monsters, both wanted power, didn't they.
Thus, when the girl turned around to walk with a tearful, "I'm ready." Kaida steeled herself. To kill the girl, she'd want her to barely even know the attack was coming, not even feel it. On top of that, her back was to Kaida, it was almost suspiciously easy.
It was easy.
Kaida barely made a sound as she spung forward and raised her hands above her head in clumsy fists. Not meant to kill, just knock out. Why? Kaida wasn't sure, perhaps she didn't want this girl to die like prey, frightened and with the last thing one saw being the predator. This was just extermination, she never had to know.
The girl didn't yelp, and fell to the ground at the attack, Kaida catching her before impact. Unconscious. Kaida raised her claws, and they wouldn't move.

Kaida's eyes flickered to her own unmoving claws like this was a personal betrayal of some kind. The mission was to take this girl out, and the opportunity was right here, so why couldn't she just take it!? Her own words bubbled in her mind, monsters won't use you. Why did she say that? Of all things!? She felt a speck of truth in what she had said, but couldn't understand why she had wanted to convince the girl to join monsters, to be among inhuman humans and beasts.
Monster. She was sure that was what Cerberus was, what everyone saw of them. She was certain that nobody in the Guild could claim to be innocent of all crimes, herself included...and Sovereign's words sprang to mind, he had told her that all the people of the Guild would be useful, have a purpose. She trusted those words, and in the moment, the girl had trusted her. So...perhaps she was guilty? Weird, but the nagging words in her mind seemed to fit, she thought.
This girl was a danger to all, and Kaida was starting to figure that this may not be a bad thing. Among other freaks and monsters, it may very well be perfect for the girl.

Kaida made a quick rush about the tunnel, checking over everything and anything. The girl was safely on her back, unconscious about as peacefully as one could be after being knocked out. The man was still slumped against the wall, and Kaida made sure to check if he was breathing. He was alive, and in no danger, he would likely never know what had attacked him...and even if he did, she doubted he'd be believed in saying a horned, scaled woman had attacked him. Nobody else was in the tunnels with them, and Kaida was thorough. No scents, no signs of footprints, this incident may as well have happened in a vacuum. Perfect. Discreet.
A pulse of pride ran through Kaida, and her tail wagged slightly in satisfaction. No mission could ever be failed by her, now could it? She only wondered if the Guild would be pleased by bringing this girl back...but Sovereign was always smiling and supported the Guild, he couldn't be angry about her idea of the girl being a use to them, could he?
Looking back at the girl, Kaida resigned herself to whatever happened back home. If they were angry, she could just finish the job there, but she had to try.
Leaving all the filth behind, Kaida walked her way back home, a dangerous being carried on her back.
