[attr="class","infomain"]
Founded seventy years ago by Salem Godfrey, the upper echelons of the guild seem more like a coven of ageless vampires, angels, demons and other demihuman entities that have long since banded together for the world’s salvation. After her, the family and the remainder of Raven Tail settled in Shale Town, they acted as its backbone and then founded the guild anew.
The Godfrey line has always been a neutral faction that steps in when the world is in danger—and the Calamity was no different. Hoping to reinstate order in the world, they acted like a mafia out of necessity. With the world subjected to monsters, raiders, and everything else, a rougher approach was necessary to put everyone under the same banner. Their typical strategy was offer protection to other communities in exchange for a cut of their supplies per month. This bound them by their rules, as they were the overseers. If they declined, they could use mafia-like tactics to coerce them into it. Through that expansion, they could start the long process of making the land an organized civilization again, and save the world. Granted, they didn’t always need to coerce—most of the time communities came to them, or be eaten by hungry mythical beasts.
This caused Shale Town to flourish, and a great amount of opinions about Odin’s Spear to be spread across the land. Some feared them, some revered them, some despised them—but no matter how they were perceived, their goal remained the same. Unite the world under their banner and bring it back from ruin.
Salem passed her Godfather status to her uncle, Leos Godfrey, shortly after things were secured. A party comprised of her, her mother, and several other members of the family needed to set out to find the strange organization that caused the end of the world, and the rise of their new, dystopian society. Still on their mission to this day, two generations of leaders followed; Everest Godfrey, Leos’ daughter, and now Anniken Godfrey, Everest’s daughter. The guild was renamed with Salem’s permission following her departure, once it formerly became a guild again. The agenda remains the same. Continue waiting for the return of the rest of her family, and continue with the same stratagem and agendas, even if it means bloodying her hands and carrying many sins so others could survive. These made men and women make it clear that anyone who breaks the rules will receive severe punishment, and any attack to them, or the people of Shale Town, will be met with fatal retaliation.
The Godfather – The guild leader, oftentimes referred to as the boss or the Godfather, controls the guild. Dictating the guild’s actions and the rules they enforce alongside their council of most trusted, their duties are many. Managing resources, be it people, other communities, food, shelter, organizing groups of people for different tasks, diplomacy, intimidation, coercion, and umpteen decisions—they are the head of the beast, and bear the greatest weight.
The Underboss — The underboss is the second-in-command of the organization. The boss makes the decisions, and the underboss runs and handles them. Overseeing routine responsibilities, they are likened to an extension of the boss when they aren’t present. In turn, they also are trusted enough to make decisions of their own when the boss is away as the acting boss.
Consigliere — An advisor to the boss and underboss, and usually the most trusted and or closest friend. Serving as the right hand, and the third highest ranking member of the organization, they mediate interactions between the guild and other guilds, as well as between the guild and other communities. This role requires intensive knowledge of the organization’s workings.
Caporegime (Capo) — A capo is an individual in charge of a crew of soldiers. These are usually comprised of anywhere between ten and twenty soldiers, and include associates within the ranks (explained further below). They oversee a lot of grunt work, such as eliminating enemies to the guild, sending messages to underling communities who break rules, leading expeditions to go out and find more supplies for Shale Town and Odin’s Spear, etc.
Soldier — A member of the guild (which is traditionally called the family) responsible for the baser work of the organization. Doing ground work such attacking, defending, coercing, infiltrating, and other things that might be required of them. Considered “untouchable” once they are made men, permission from their boss must be acquired before anything can be done against them by other members of the organization (in the case of them breaking rules/doing something severe they shouldn’t). Becoming a member of the guild is usually done through recommendation from higher ranking members, and the hierarchy begins with these workers. (This also is the placeholder rank, even for people who likely have higher ranks, until they tell me which they would like to have)
Associate — Someone who is not part of Odin’s Spear, but are still an asset to the guild. Might be a person from another guild (or none) who routinely does things for or helps Odin’s Spear, and are often the people they look towards for initiation.
2. Lineage – Only a Godfrey may lead the guild as the Godfather.
3. Secrets – Do not divulge information about the family and its business to outsiders.
4. Blood for blood – If a member is killed by another member, seek the Godfather’s permission to return the favour.
5. No fighting other members – Don’t fight other members of the family, aside from friendly spars. This includes the denizens of Shale Town.
6. Tribute – Every month, settlements who have made a deal with Odin’s Spear must give Odin’s Spear a cut of their earnings, be it supplies and or money. They must meet a certain quota.

Odin’s Spear, formerly known as Raven Tail pre-Calamity, was formed from the ashes of their old guild. Not only does the name of the guild reference the founders’ ancestry, but Odin was known as a “raven god” because of his raven familiars that inform him of everything. The guild’s current form is the result of seventy years of rebuilding, establishing arrangements with other settlements, and gradually amassing power.Founded seventy years ago by Salem Godfrey, the upper echelons of the guild seem more like a coven of ageless vampires, angels, demons and other demihuman entities that have long since banded together for the world’s salvation. [attr="class","infosubtitle"]Headquarters – Asgard
At the back of the settlement is a colossal building bigger and more structurally sound than the rest, a flashing, neon palace that towers into the sky. Built pre-Calamity, it owes its current integrity to a combination of luck and being durable enough to be mostly unaffected by shockwaves. However, it still looks worn—many broken windows and structural damage apparent on its exterior. Housed within this building are the members of Odin's Spear and their associates, who despite the ostentatious exterior are just as resource deprived as the rest of the population. This building is named Asgard. (Click for visual.][attr="class","infosubtitle"]Positions
There are different leadership positions within Odin’s Spear, and there are ranks for those who do not seek these positions. To climb the ranks, more than just power is necessary. The ability to “get shit done” is prioritized, having guts, being trustworthy to some extent, and doing what the Godfather asks of them are all encouraged. Essentially the better one does in the guild, the more power that person will be granted in both Odin’s Spear and Shale Town. This is to encourage going above and beyond. Please PM or Discord DM me if you're interested in any of the positions, but keep in mind higher positions are more evasive. The Godfather – The guild leader, oftentimes referred to as the boss or the Godfather, controls the guild. [attr="class","infosubtitle"]Initiation
Odin’s Spear has an initiation ritual a little different than just welcoming someone in and then stamping the guild crest onto them. The ritual consists of the inductee having an audience with the boss, underboss, and the other upper echelons of the organization. Their arm is pricked, and they are told to smear blood on the image of Odin. An oath of loyalty is sworn, and the image is burned, alluding to the annihilation of traitors. The Godfather will then mix their blood with their own, creating a blood contract in the form of a guild symbol being placed on their body with blood, and sealed in with magic. The symbol is the rune denoting Gungnir, Odin’s almighty spear.[attr="class","infosubtitle"]General Rules
